First time going into this place. Went in to buy lotto. Guy behind the counter is very f***ing rude! We will never ever go in there again. We come to Solvang at least three times a year and everywhere we've been everyone has been very nice except this guy! When I bought my lotto he said if you were my wife I'd kill you, like wtf seriously that comes out of his mouth. He said I'd never let my wife buy it's a waste don't ever buy this. In the middle of the touristy area of Solvang is a well stocked liquor store with, honestly, really fair prices. We found some local wines for significantly less than the prices other stores charge. Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. Wish there was more fresh options like cheese, but maybe they don't move that much fresh food. The owner is a nice guy too. Last Saturday evening my hubby and I stopped into this small business on a mission. Aunt Flo decided to visit on our weekend getaway so I was sore and exhausted and had to get stocked up on Midol Complete to survive the trip. Not to mention my makeup was beginning to irritate my eyes wearing it for so many hours, so I needed a quick solution to get it off ASAP. That's when plant based, Neutrogena Makeup Remover wipes came to the rescue! My hubby needed to find a solution to clean his glasses, poor thing couldn't see where he was going. They didn't carry it, so the sweet, thoughtful staff offered him Windex and he felt an immediate relief and could see clearly again! Now that's what he uses to clean them at home!! Love the Copenhagen Liquor in town. We stopped here for some drinks and snacks, and they were delicious. More fun here in the summer months as they stay open until midnight. Store is very nice and clean, the workers are very friendly, they were able to give us some amazing local wine recommendations. The owner was very funny and easy to talk, prices are decent but make sense given it is a touristy area. Definitely would comeback soon. read more

I purchased 2 vapes. 1 geek bar for my boyfriend and I fume for myself late night before close. He had us smoke it there it worked and early morning I called due to mine already was not working. They said they would not allow me to get a new one when selling me a faulty vape. I explained there is no way I could have smoked 3000 puffs from 9pm- 9 am and I was very kind and asked for them to give me one that works and they explain the owner would only give me a discount to buy a new wanting more money from me after selling me a faulty vape. I went here to purchase water, a puff bar, and saw some hand sanitizer so I picked one up on the way out. As I was checking out the man working wanted me to try the puff bar first to see if it was working (what?) and the first few puffs were fine until I got to the park, where it stopped working. I went back in and was told he couldn't return or exchange it because I had already smoked it. Uhhh, but this man just had me test it in the store. I purchased another one anyway, and same thing, it didn't work. Don't come here to buy anything other than water or booze, because even the hand sanitizer was an oily sticky mess. Went inside to look for a decent wine to have in the room after a day of walking around. The wine selection did not seem worthy of the region. This liquor store has a monopoly in this area due to having a location that's within walking distance to most hotels in Solvang, in addition to the fact that everything here closes so early. My husband and I walked in expecting to see at least a decent variety of wine only to find things like Barefoot Wine and other commercially made wines. Most wines were priced at $19 or under which is a bit of a red flag for those looking for a decent or good local wine. If you're in a region that produces such stellar wines, don't bother going to this store to stock your hotel or rental. Maybe it's a decent place to grab bottled water or Gatorade the next morning because you went too crazy during your wine tasting jaunt, but I'd steer clear if you're looking to pick up a bottle of wine for a night cap. I can't speak to their hard liquor or other offerings, but it wasn't a very welcoming vibe so we quickly exited after perusing the disappointing wine selection. read more
