North Park is a nice place to spend an afternoon. There's a little something for everyone here…read more This part features (from their website): a picnic shelter, restrooms, fully- accessible playground, 1.1 mile paved walking track, seven athletic fields used for baseball, softball, soccer and lacrosse, a multi-use track used for skating and bicycling, seven ballfields, six tennis courts, four basketball courts and two sand volleyball courts. I like to walk a few laps around the track when the weather permits. There's usually a few others on the path as well, but it's never been too crowded. One bad thing about the track is there seems to be a lot of goose poop near the pond. I've also shot some hoops on the court before. It gets super busy on the weekends, so you might want to think about going somewhere else unless you're trying to get in on a pickup game. The rims are very stiff as well which doesn't make it very fun. Find a way to get rid of the geese (or at least the poop) and add a fenced in dog park, and this place would get another star.

The trail despite it being a bit of a mushy day, it' fairly maintained though it could be right going past people on the little boardwalk on half of the trail. There's plenty of wildlife you'll encounter as well. Easy access to the streets as well upon leaving. Cute overlook of the pond too before and after you start the trail.

We took our dog on a walk here and found numerous ticks on him and ourselves by the end of the trail. Unfortunately, despite him being on flea/tick meds and having been given the Lyme vaccine for multiple years, we found out this week that he tested positive for Lyme disease and have a strong suspicion that he was exposed from the ticks at this park. Obviously ticks are very frequent at a lot of parks, but I've never seen so many in one place as we did here. They were literally leaping all over us and our dog from the tall grass, so consider avoiding the grassy area altogether and stick to the woods. If you choose to walk here, I definitely recommend checking yourself and your pets for ticks before heading home.

Large soccer fields and open fields, a nice lake complete with a fishing dock, multiple areas with picnic tables and shade, two different kids play areas, benches and swings, a basketball court, and a hidden gem of a gazebo make this such a desirable park. Negatives: location! Its only entrance for vehicles is off of Silver Meadows BLVD, and this park is backed right up to the Silver Meadows apartments. There have been shootings in the past, there is definitely drug activity, and there have been robberies. It's not often, but it does happen. MY kids LOVE this park! We go there to feed the ducks and geese often. BUT this is a park that I do not bring my kids to unless I am concealed carrying.

Goose turds are another issue altogether. Starting in the spring, be prepared to prevent your dog from eating the turds, if your dog is so inclined. Al Lease is great. We have a walking trail with multiple pathways around a cute little pond. The landscape is well maintained with fresh mulch and mowing accomplished regularly. Along the edge of the manicured areas one can see different flora and fauna including bunnies and even find wild raspberries during the summer. Every spring the geese and goslings spend much time around the park. One can reserve the pavilions for around $20/day through the P&R website. During the appropriate seasons, there are athletics, soccer and baseball are most common. Fishing is a common activity seen when the temperatures are right. There are 2 small playgrounds, one is well designed for younger children and the other is more suited for school age children. As for down sides, the wooden structures like the pavilions, the gazebo, and the deck over the water could use some maintenance. Occasionally the mosquitoes get out of hand. Given that the park has a pond, and marshes, this is expected. The City of Kent usually controls this with mosquito spraying but during the height of mosquito season, bring repellent just in case the spraying hasn't been done yet.

There are really big windows all around the outside of the building, so wherever you sit you can see the metro parks outside. It has a fresh coat of paint, very neutral cream color. The ceiling is super high and gives the room a nice, open feel along with the cream colored metal rafters. You cannot have alcohol at events you have. There is a kitchen that's a perfect size for getting food together for a party. There are very clean restrooms indoors. Outside the room there is a large area for kids (or adults I guess ) to go outside and play. I really enjoyed the wedding shower that we attended here! I would recommend it for an event for sure.

Here you will find tree plaques throughout the trail that inform you about the local species. With two trails to choose from, you think it would be impossible to get lost. However, the old carved map is slightly misleading. Whichever trail you decide to explore you'll begin at the same starting point ;straight ahead you'll see a tiny wooden bridge- this path leads you wandering around...you cannot distinct between path & surroundings as nothing is marked. If you avoid this & veer to the right, one trail loops around the park while the other eventually takes you through a series of backyards & a golf course. Each trail is made up of twisting roots & tiny gravel so if you have a decent stroller (avoid the trail with a street name & take the loop only) you should be able to enjoy the park without any hiccups.

The statue is made entirely out of black oak and was created by Joe Frhonapfel. It weighs over 4000 pounds. Chief Netawatees was the head of the Lenape Indian tribe. Known to his people as "the wise counselor" he had relocated his people to Eastern Ohio where he helped a Moravian missionary near his village. He later died at Fort Pitt during the Revolutionary war. The statue sits on a medial strip on Front street directly facing the park. It is colorful and is a great representation of a honored tribal chief. There is a crosswalk so you can safely go over and view the statue from a safe distance. The back of the statue is solid black. Check it out before engaging in the many activities this park has to offer by the Cuyahoga river.

I recently found this cute and quaint park in Wadsworth, and I'm happy I did. I came here for a…read moreshort run on the trail and loved the scenery. The trail itself is a little over one mile paved from end-to-end. If you find yourself aching for more mileage, you can easily continue onto the neighborhood sidewalks. I found the entire park and the length of the trail well maintained, mowed, pruned, and litter-free. There's an event space, aptly named The Trolley Line House. It has the cutest signage featuring a model trolley and the exterior is decorated for fall. There's a bicycle parking rack and maintenance station for basic repairs or tube changes. Down by the parking area is a large picnic pavilion with four tables and electrical outlets. On the other side of the event house is a fire pit and I'd love to join a gathering here. All in all, it's a truly great little park. Can't wait to see if the trail gets extended - I'd be here even more if it was.
