Absolutely wonderful food matched by the beyond lovely staff. We had four delicious meals since we were staying at the attached Harding Hotel. Great friendly atmosphere, well lit dining area with beautiful stained glass and conveniently located across from Christ's Church. All the staff were so friendly, personable and extra sweet to my mom. They really made us feel welcome on our first night in Dublin. Dining as a family of five we each ordered a variety of food and shared amongst ourselves. Enjoyed were the full Irish and vegetarian breakfasts, beef Guinness stew (very rich), Irish smoked salmon with eggs, their signature omelette, homemade seafood chowder (perfection), brioche french toast, brown bread with butter, Irish soda bread (addictive), Korean chicken wings, and a variety of beers and cocktails. The stand out star by far was the fish & chips--large pieces, light & airy breading, no excess oil. Really the best I've ever eaten. I would say that the portions served of everything was very generous, so bring your appetite. read more

Appreciated that food was flavorful & did not need additional seasoning. Ambience is old, pub style with Viking themed stained glass. We had a great lunch here on a rainy afternoon. I had the seafood chowder and it was wonderful. It featured a huge portion of mussels along with salmon, prawns, and other fish (I think maybe haddock). Everything was flavorful and fresh and the broth was excellent. The chowder came with fresh bread and butter. This plus a pot of tea was a great way to warm up before heading back out for more sightseeing. Others in my group had the stew and fish and chips; they greatly enjoyed their meals as well. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was relaxed with lovely decor. read more

Would love to review but I can only review service. Which is AWFUL. We were interested in a quick bite between tours but when we stopped in we were told they could not seat us as there were only 2 of us and they only had 4 tops available at that moment. We had both breakfast and dinner here because it was next door to our hotel and thus very convenient. There is some nice stained glass window art of vikings inside the restaurant, and we were seated quickly during both of the times we were there. For dinner I had their vegan salad with a side of their champ mash (mashed potatoes with green onions, buttermilk, chives). It was a nice, light dinner. For breakfast I had their vegetarian irish breakfast plate, but we had to take out the hashbrown because I was told it was cooked in the same oil as possibly battered items and since I am gluten intolerant that would have been an issue. Besides the baked beans, the breakfast was a bit bland sadly. Overall, I would say that their food is just ok. As I said this place was very convenient for us and if you are staying in the area and just want to eat somewhere quickly before taking off for the day, it's not a bad place to go. Our first food experience on our honeymoon! Not only was this located right within our hotel, the Harding Hotel, it's right across the street from Christ Church, a great church to visit during your stay in Dublin. We were seated in the back corner table next to the high book shelf and the shelves behind us had differently colored bright wine bottles with food coloring. It was a vintage decor with a hint of modern flare here and there. The wooden floors creaked as you walked, and the tables were comfortable. Since it was lunch, we started with a Guinness each, and I started with their vegetable soup, with this beautiful yellow-orange color with some seasoned croutons, with a side of brown bread. If you eat it this way - buttering the brown bread and dipping it into the soup, you will be in absolute heaven! The greatest idea for this goes to my husband - he knows what I like! My hubby, being the cheese lover that he is, opted for the deep fried Irish Brie cheese. Imagine it like a deep fried spring roll, with cheese inside instead. It was really a delightful surprise; great concept. The main entree, I had their take on fish and chips, which was literally a fillet deep fried in crispy, non-greasy goodness. It was absolutely insane, and had to resort to using my knife and fork instead of using my fingers. This to me, was the best fish and chips of the whole trip, while my husband begs to differ. He went for the burger, and it was meaty, jaw breaker worthy, and delicious. Malted vinegar is all you need for your fries; don't try to use something else. Great vibe, great service. read more

While the hostel I was staying at had a free continental breakfast I wanted to go out one morning for a full Irish breakfast. Hence why I went to the Copper Alley Bistro. \ The restaurant here is rather charming (I loved the fireplace), and the staff was friendly and attentive. Most importantly the food was really food. I got the full Irish Breakfast, which came with toast, a fried egg, grilled tomato, bacon, hashbrown, and black pudding and white pudding (which I should specify for North Americans isn't like a dessert pudding but a type of sausage). I also added in beans because I like beans on toast. For about €12 I got a really filling and delicious breakfast. While heading out for a full Irish breakfast isn't something you're going to do every day you should try it at least once while you're in Dublin. read more

It was delicious. I had fish and chips. We also shared a side of garden vegetables. The portion of fish was large and the fried batter was just right - light and crispy. The fish seemed fresh and tasted fine. The chips were crispy but not dried out. The garden vegetables consisted of green beans, parsnips, and carrots. They were cooked just right, still had some crunch to them. The service was pleasant. There seemed to be a long wait between the appetizer and entrees. We were staying in the Harding Hotel that this restaurant was connected too. We actually went to this place because of convenience. It turned out one of the best meals if not the best we had on our trip. My daughter and I had the Irish Stew/Guinness gravy with mash-excellent! My wife had risotto- she loved it. My son in law has wings. He might be a wing expert and said they were the best he ever had. He's had them all over the US.
