I called ahead to check on gluten-free options since I didn't see anything listed on their website, and the staff confirmed they offer GF buns and that the sweet potato fries themselves are gluten-free. We came with a party of 8 on a perfect night to sit outside on their huge patio right on the water--the atmosphere cannot be beat! While the setting was great, the GF/allergy experience could use a little improvement. When I asked the server which drinks were gluten-free, she wasn't super knowledgeable, though she did make an effort to confirm the items for me. I ended up ordering a strawberry margarita. There also weren't any appetizer options that were both gluten-free and vegetarian, so I went straight to the entree. I ordered the BLT with mayo and cheddar cheese on a gluten-free bun. The server did clarify that they do not have a dedicated fryer for the fries, so I opted for a side of fruit instead to avoid cross-contamination. The food itself was really good--honestly, you couldn't even tell the bun was gluten-free! Overall, it's a beautiful spot with good food, but I really wish they had a dedicated fryer, more GF options, and the staff a bit more educated on cross-contamination and ingredients. read more

The food is consistently inconsistent and the portions are small for the prices. The sides also feel very skimpy - picture a handful of fries and today all our sides were cold to touch. What keeps us coming back is the cold beer and view. read more

Poor service and fish fry was mediocre at best. Potato pancakes, greasy, cold thick and rubbery. Coleslaw creamy but flavorless. It wasn't busy, yet had to wait for a server, our food and the bill. Was never offered desert or drink refills until after I requested the bill. 2nd time I've been there, would not try a 3rd time. Hand's down my favorite restaurant when I am in the area. This place does get extremetly busy on Friday evenings and weekends so service can get slow at times but don't let that stop you from visiting this fantastic restaurant! They have several seating locations within the location. An upstairs bar area that has high top tables. A downstairs section for larger groups with normal seats and a fantastic outdoor patio right on the waters edge of Silver Lake. I have visited this establishment many times and can not think of a bad meal or experience that I have ever had. Hands down my favorite meal item is the Shrimp de Jonghe. Otherwise it is very typical Wisconsin menu with everything from burgers and sandwiches to some pasta options. read more

What a nice new place. We've been about 4-5 times now and the food is always great. The food: Pork Chops - well seasoned. Chicken Enchiladas - it's chunked chicken, I would prefer shredded but not a bad dish. Would try the cheese enchiladas next. The rice was just ok and the beans were good. Steak taco- this was a miss for me. The steak lacked flavor and was closer to ground beef than tasty steak. Chips and Salsa - fantastic, what this again. Fresh fried chips and homemade salsa. Can't go wrong. Baked AUCE fish- fantastic. Star of the show and the reason I will keep returning. It tastes light and fresh. Prime rib- melt in your mouth amazingness The service: I think they have enough staff, but they could be a bit more organized. We've been served our food before our drinks have arrived and it's been a consistent issue with every visit. The bartender was on their phone at least 1 of the times so I'm not sure why there is such a delay. Some servers run around moving non stop whereas others are on their phones as well. The staff is also not familiar enough with the menu to advise on less gluten options. I understand that there can always be cross contamination but I was served breaded potatoes after specifically asking if they were breaded and was told no. I also was not offered a replacement, just a shrug. The food and view is worth the sometimes lacking service, but I'd love to see improvements with the service and bump them to a 5 star review. Their hours online said they were open until 9pm. Drove 20 min to get there and arrived at 7pm. Bar and outdoor patio were filled with people, yet a server stopped us at the door and told us they "closed early" for no reason and then refused to seat us. read more

I don't often take time to do a review but this place was our "go to" when it was the Marina, and the view is great. Just wish they could get it right. We stopped in on a beautiful Friday evening and yes the patio was packed and the view was great. Servers were great and the food came out quickly. We ordered the perch and the fish fry. First the perch, nice crispy coating but no seasoning, and why put it on a bed of soggy shredded lettuce? Ruined it! Next the baked cod, at over $19 total disaster, small flat dry pieces, made you wonder if it was really cod. Couldn't eat it, much less ask for more. Broasted potatoes were weird. Half of a potato with a soggy coat that looked and ate like another potato skin. They should have been cut in wedges and really Broasted. No bread basket like before. At over $60 for two with only soft drinks, we would have been better off at Culver's. The one star was so the owners would notice it, the other menu items we saw looked good. We will go back but not for the fish. read more

We took a chance on this restaurant mainly because it's on the shore of Silver Lake. A beautiful view can make up for anything, right? It's not just a pretty view, this place is really good. Prices are competitive IMO and menu has something for everyone. Our server, Matt, was attentive and so friendly. All the employees were busy; I didn't see anyone on their phones not working as another reviewer posted. The restaurant and patio are very clean; no empty tables waiting to be cleared. The patio was perfect- lots of space, soft-classic rock playing, and a great view. Perfect weather too. It wasn't very busy so we got to sit and enjoy the view a little longer. On to the food- we had the the Rodeo burger (my favorite toppings!) with tots, a rack of ribs with broasted potatoes, and the chimi cheesecake for dessert. The burger was fantastic and tots hot. Ribs were good for a place that doesn't specialize in BBQ; I loved the sauce. Broasted potatoes were a wonderful addition. Save room for chimi cheesecake (like an egg roll with cheesecake and raspberry sauce inside, served with ice cream). Overall a fantastic experience. They charge a 4% fee for using any credit card. I always point this out first since that's just the cost of doing business and low brow to charge. Most places don't do this. I believe they even do this for debit cards which is super odd. Food is decent. We like to go for the brunch buffet on Sundays. A pretty good selection of meat, fish, snd fruit. I want to love this place, I really do, and we have been here numerous times to try and give it a chance but it feels like every time we are there, there is a problem in the kitchen and our food takes 2+ hours. We were here recently and it took forever. The service is hit or miss, but the bus boys are great and some of the servers are also really good, like Jillian. Twice we have had another server and she disappeared for long periods of time even when our food was taking really long. Jillian had the table next to us though and took it upon herself to check on us even when we weren't her table, she gets it. Food is good, nothing spectacular but we like it. Cheese curds are the best thing on the menu. However truly the best thing about this place is the view. Like I said we really enjoy coming here mainly for the view/vibe but it's really hit or miss with service. read more

1st time here was a Tuesday early evening. The inside was clean and new. We sat outside. At 4pm the tables next to the building were shaded and the row away were still in the sun, your pick. Beautiful view of the lake, nice quite dinner. We had our kids with us, felt very comfortable outside, kid friendly. I was surprised by the variety of the menu. All the house specials sound really good. We all loved our choices. We didn't ask but looks like there is a stand alone smaller open air building/area for parties or maybe overflow with string lights, bar and that. Entrees were just ok // cheap ingredients was the general consensus // burger was a frozen round premade patty , nachos was a cheap tasting canned 'nacho' cheese , fish taco was nothing special. Also got an avocado chicken flatbread that was a complete mess. It was doused so bad that one pickup and it was unedible pile of of mush . Asked for a new piece of flat bread and they brought it but also charged us extra for the piece of flatbread Etc.. fries were about the most decent. But, The bartender, Kim was rude, very unwelcoming, and we definitely won't be coming back due to her. Stopped by for brunch and drove from the city based on a friend's recommendation. They offer seating inside and outside with a beautiful view of the lake. The food and service were vey good. Everyone was so attentive. The brunch includes, apple crepes, French toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, fresh fruit, danishes, fish and a carving station with ham and roast beef. Everything was outstanding, but the beef and au jus was amazing. Highly recommend the Sunday brunch and looking forward to trying other menu items. read more

Approximately 5 side choices were offered with the fish fry of which several had a $2.00 upcharge unknown to us. Manager felt that it was stated elsewhere on the menu and alot of restaurants do this so that justified it. We mentioned that we may not return. This manager wasn't concerned and it's great that she has so much confidence in these uncertain times that she can dismiss customers. read more
