    Ribeye and lobster tail

The food was excellent. The service was fast. This was our first visit here, but it won't be our last.

We had a large party and had a very early reservation on a Saturday late afternoon. Apparently, if you want a prime time reservation, you must book it a few weeks in advance. We did get a chance to visit the second and third floors which we highly recommend. The gal that answers the reservation phone number and calls you to remind you of your reservation is on the second floor. In between the phone calls, she provides some history and all sorts of really neat info about the building. What was happening during that period of time, etc. Our server was very attentive, provided excellent recommendations and was very accommodating to all our questions and needs. The food was fantastic. Everyone in our party got steak and potatoes. A few also tried the lobster tail. My favorite part was the side of mushrooms. They were the sautéd with butter and garlic - simply the best. We also had a few cocktails, which came out nice and cold and the mixed drinks were perfect. We were stuffed from the great portions, but ordered a grasshopper to sip and that was also delicious. While I don't live in the area any longer. I was super excited to try stage stop again after so many years. I'm so glad we gave it another try and equally so very happy that some of the traditions such as the giant block of butter on your table are still going strong (which by the way they will bring you a to go container to take that butter with you!)

As always, Wilmot Stage Stop was fabulous! Making a reservation, parking, getting seated and table service was flawless. We were very well cared for. The vintage building creates a warm atmosphere that feels so inviting. The bar area is huge and comfy as well. We all tried steaks, lobster and baked potatoes. Everything was prepared perfectly. Of course the giant butter square on the table is dramatic. We had a wonderful evening celebrating a birthday.

Amazing meal! We had never been to the Stage Stop. While visiting family in the area, we took them out for dinner on a Sunday evening. We had reservations for 4 people at 5:30 pm. The parking lot was pretty full but there was no line of people waiting for a table. We saw the host and checked in and were seated right away. There's a bar area as you enter the main door (at the back porch). Then there's at least 2 dining rooms, maybe more. We were seated in the one nearest the bar. We had a nice 4-top table that we pulled away from the wall a few inches as my wife and I are fuller-figured and that few inches more room is just right for us. Our server came over quickly and introduced herself. Her name was Haven. She was quite pleasant and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks as well as the restaurant operation. We had all studied the online menu before we got here and knew what we wanted, so we ordered our drinks and meals all at once. We had: - Waters - Brandy Old Fashioned x 3 - Pino Grigio Wine (Santa Margherita) - Filet and Lobster Tail x 3 (one with mushrooms) - Grilled Shrimp and Lobster Tail - Salad x 4 - Baked Potato x 4 - Grasshopper x 2 (for dessert) The drinks were great if you like a Wisconsin Old Fashioned (made with brandy vs bourbon). The salads were simple and served with a small bowl each of Roquefort, French and Thousand Island. All homemade and all very tasty. A basket of 4 dinner rolls came out with the salad as well. We LOVED the food. The steaks are chargrilled and were cooked (medium rare) perfectly. We topped each with garlic butter. The lobster tails were very good. Smallish but priced accordingly. They were served with drawn butter, kept warm over a candle-based warmer. The shrimp were excellent too. Tasty and not overcooked. My wife and I shared her shrimp and my steak and each had a lobster tail. Worked out perfectly. The baked potatoes were on the smaller side but quite adequate. A huge (about 1/2 pound) piece of butter and a small bowl of sour cream was brought out for our potatoes. Way too much butter and not enough sour cream. Haven brought us a second small bowl each of sour cream and it was just perfect. For dessert, my wife and I shared a classic Grasshopper drink and my wife's cousin and his daughter shared one as well. They were very tasty. We can recommend anyone to eat here at the Wilmot Stage Stop and I look forward to eating here on our next stop in the area.

Visited for the first time tonight to celebrate a friends birthday! What a really nice place! We had a reservation and got seated fairly promptly. Great table, wonderful atmosphere! The rolls and butter were yummy! Sooooo much butter! The salad and choice of homemade dressings was also very good! Some at our table had the lobster soup and loved it. The shrimp cocktail was good too! Our table had steak and lobster which was a hit! As it was a birthday , they brought out a piece of cake which was very nice. Unfortunately the second floor was closed for renovation so we didn't get to see the museum- but will have to go back to check it out. Service was very good and our server was very friendly. Overall a good time was had by all. I will be going back!

Stopped in for a birthday dinner with our family. It has been years since I've been here and things haven't changed much, from what I recall. Didn't have time to check out the museum upstairs but I'm sure it's pretty much the same. We waited at the bar for our group to show up - at first it was packed but then it died down and picked up again. Kind of an ebb and flow. The staff were hustling the whole time and were quick to grab drinks when you could catch their attention. We were seated next to the giant stove/oven where they cook the steaks and it was uncomfortably warm. We opened a window as someone in the party was other verge of getting sick from the heat. Aside from that, it got a bit more comfortable. Our server was friendly and patient with our large, loud group. All of our orders were correct and my steak was cooked perfectly. Wished they had some different sides available (extra veggies) but I get it if this is what you do best. They don't tell you the sizes of their steaks so you kind of have to guess with the filet and sirloin. The prices are reasonable but you can't split checks which I don't love. Otherwise, nice time here.

This was my first time here and I didn't know what to expect but my experience was great. We had a big party (for a birthday) and our waitress was very friendly and got all of our food orders correct. Their martinis are pretty good, definitely strong. I had the lamb chops and they were cooked to perfection and the baked potato was really good. The vibe of the place was really nice, family friendly apparently there are two museums upstairs you can tour before or after you eat. I highly recommend going.

We have visited the Wilmot Stage Stop for many years and have always enjoyed the food! Our last several visits have been awesome as the Chef who knows what he is doing has acknowledged us and our waitress the last few times has been Taylor! Taylor has raised the bar on our dining experience to a new level. We truly enjoy our time at the Stage Stop! The Chef makes certain your dinner is out of this world and Taylor makes your time in the resturant an absolute pleasure. She is on it and has a lot of fun with you at the same time. Thank You for a great experience and an awesome dinner! See you all very soon!

Another fantastic time at Stage Stop! Went here with family to celebrate Mother's Day. It was a Saturday night, so lucky we had reservations. We were seated immediately upon arriving. We all had the house special. It was an 18 ounce "bone in" ribeye, baked potato, salad w/ homemade dressing, and a lobster tail for $59.95 per person. With the prices today, that's pretty reasonable. Our server was awesome. She was extremely personable and attentive. If you're ever in the area, I highly recommend trying this establishment.

Dining area when they first opened. All tables filled in the next 15 minutes.

Tick Tock Prepare to be harassed and bullied with their pre-allotted one hour and 15 minute timeline for dining. 6/26/25 Worst dining experience ever at Stage Stop, my former favorite restaurant for birthdays. Attempted to Catch up with my friend on his birthday for dinner that I have not seen for some time. Despite having a reservation, I was disappointed. I've been going to this restaurant for 30 years. Now money hungry, prioritizing turning tables over a pleasant dining experience. -Our server, Victoria, rushed us, repeatedly asking for our order five times in 10 minutes, sharing the next reservation time. Asked for a drink order at least 4 times. When I requested the manager, I was told this is their new operating procedure. Both the server and manager were unreasonably stern. The server assumed a tip on a $135 bill and asked if I wanted change when paying with two $100 bills. Still left a $20 tip, should have left nothing. -After stating I'd never return, the rudest female manager ever said, "Sounds good, sir." The restaurant also had flies. We left before their next "stated"reservation time. I will NEVER go back. PS My one star reviews are reserved for very special places...Stage Stop has made the all time, most awful restaurant....ever. It's their belief they can treat customers however they want with rudeness and condescension for even the appearance of possibly going over their predetermined one hour and 15 minute timeframe. It's also our birthday tradition to have ice cream drinks after dinner but I refused to spend a single penny more than 1 adult beverage each after how poorly we were treated. Cutting our evening short, arrived 430 left at 545. O Thanks Victoria and Stage Stop for destroying our night out.

Old stagecoach stop from 1848. Atmosphere is good, museum on the top two floors. Recommend reservations. Expensive but great food, including dry aged bone in ribeye. House-made salad dressing was very good. Their slogan includes "Heaps of butter" and you get a half pound block with your baked potato. Service was excellent. Off street parking.

She was friendly and great at recommending dishes. The busboy (we didn't catch his name) was positive and attentive. The staff really make the spot wonderful. It's modern inside, dark paint, and updated decor. However it feels friendly with the trendy atmosphere. The way these dishes look also match the ambiance at the restaurant. We ordered lots of dishes and they mostly looked great! The Salat Roasted Beet Salad is fruity, thanks to the berries and citrus, with a pistachio whip on the bottom of the dish. It's a heavier dish for a salad, but absolutely delicious and fruity. I also had the San Francisco Style Cioppino was good, but I wasn't expecting it to be like a zupa di pesci, while the flavor was good, I was having FOMO of others eating monkfish and the walleye. The Cioppino had a Louisiana flavored sauce. There was a variety of fish which were all cooked and not overdone. It's a massive dish! We finished off with English Sticky Toffee Pudding and Italian Citrus Mascarpone Cake. The cake was amazing! It wasn't too tart and light. The sticky pudding was also delicious and very sweet. It's a very beautiful restaurant, service is great, the plates look amazing and tastes great. It's definitely a spot to try again!
