Great decor and ambiance. We had the soup of the day, something Tascano, the Lobster Rangoon, and the Copper Hog panini, and a side of potato salad. Everything was fresh and SO flavorful! We sat at the bar and Jackie was our server/bartender. She was fast and attentive and so friendly. Great choice of beers on tap for me. The house Riesling was delicious, per my wife. I should have read the reviews before coming to this establishment. We went here today for Mother's Day lunch. My first clue that this was not a good choice was the nearly empty appearance of the place - on Mother's Day. The best part about this place was a digital fireplace on a copper wall. We arrived at 12:30. We were helped right away and got our drinks. One person in our party received a salad at 1:10, my salad came at 1:25, three people received burgers at 1:45, and my food came last at around 1:50 missing a side item. The reason given for the long wait was that they did not prep enough burgers for the day. The burgers were "meh" by my family's report. Certainly not worth the hour wait. The mango salsa salmon was fine. But I wouldn't have known about it unless the server hadn't asked the kitchen which entrees they were serving this day (all things a server should know before speaking to customers) P.S. Last week I joined a group of 6 women for dinner. I was apprehensive as previous experiences weren't good. But thought things had to be better. Sadly to say this was their last visit from me. It took forever to get drinks and our meals. I fish was okay but very small potion and cold. The bread was hard and stale, the fries, that I paid an up charge, were so hard and stone cold they were inedible. We finally got our order taken 30 minutes later after I went to find a server. Seemed to be some drama going between the wait staff. Great-looking place to sit at the bar & get a drink! It has a cool, open layout w/a circle bar in the center & different sitting areas throughout. You can tell they put a good amount of thought into design. Very unfortunately, it seems they put little to no research or resources into developing recipes or running a kitchen. I really want Belleville restaurants to succeed & will support even mediocre ones over a chain restaurant. But the food here tells me they just aren't even willing to try; that's inconsiderate to the customers & will run off their bar patrons, as well. If they don't want to don't want to do the work & hire someone experience starting a successful kitchen, then just be a bar w/out a kitchen so your food doesn't impact your overall success. read more

We had not been to Copperfire in years I'm ashamed to say because the food, drinks and service were great!. We got there early afternoon and were immediately greeted at our table. We just ordered apps and drinks and had to get a doggie bag because the portions were very generous. If you like a little heat, highly recommend the crab cakes! I went there a few months ago. Service was terrible. I received chicken strips that were raw inside. I understand they don't have a fryer but that's basic food safety. The other food was cooked properly but average at best. We decided to stop in and check out the restaurant since it had been quite some time since our last visit. There were no staff members near the front of the dining room so it wasn't obvious about whether to seat yourself or not. We walked over to a small bar set up to serve slushees and take food orders. Ordered two slushees and a chicken panini with a side of fruit. So far so good. The bartender entered the order and gave us a number to place on our table. Time stamp on receipt = 4:02pm. Then, we waited. And waited. At 4:35pm we saw the food runner walk past us with a panini and a side of fruit. Hmmm. They arrived after us and received their food before us. Just as we were about to ask about our order, the bartender realized we hadn't gotten our order. We noticed a few conversations at the back of the room between the food runner, our bartender, and someone else . A moment later we were told our food was coming out soon. At 4:40, the food arrived. I point blank asked the food runner if he gave our order to the other table. He said yes because he didn't know who it was for even though he told us that they use an order number system to get items to the correct tables. Then he implied it was no big deal since the other table ordered the exact same sandwich and our food followed, in his mind, just 1-2 minutes later. It seems that there is a need for additional staff training. So, from the receipt print time to arrival of one chicken panini with a side of fruit, 38 minutes elapsed. Neither the bar nor the restaurant was busy so the wait time was more than excessive. Needless to say, not a great experience and hopefully the staff will get its act together. Dang. You lost two guests forever, over $6. So today we went back, hoping to redeem an ok first experience. Service was once again good, but food was awful! We just got wings and nachos to share. Pictures these nachos: cold clumpy cheese, brisket that looks like Arby's roast beef, 3 tomatoes, and no salsa whatsoever. They tasted as awful as they looked. After forcing down a combined 4 chips, my husband and I informed the server that they were horrible and cold. The server offered more chips. For what??! Long story short, we got our full price bill, even though we refused the awful nachos, sent the bill back to the "manager", who then offered us 20% off our bill. Huh? Why not just take off the awful nachos? So instead of taking off the terrible $12 nachos, we got $6 off our bill. And Copper Fire lost a long time patron over the last $6. read more

Rough first outing here. In their defense it was a bit later (around 11) but it was a Friday night and they still had live music going on So I would expect service to still be running strong. We started out on the patio where we waited for 10 minutes with no server to be seen. Other tables were occupied and had drinks so we weren't alone. The men went to the bar inside to order the ladies a drink. We asked the owner (we were told it was him) if there was outside service and he said they had just been cut. We then waited at the bar for 5 minutes even though there were two bartenders on duty and the owner standing by. The bar was not packed. They appeared to be talking. We waited for almost 20 minutes after we finally ordered to get two glasses of wine and two drinks (they were out of one type of wine and the bourbon we wanted). In the meantime the outside server came up and asked us why we were inside. We told her she apparently had been cut and didn't know it yet! She wasn't very happy. We stayed for one drink and left. The inside does not offer much atmosphere. Very warehouse with paint feeling. Ceilings are two stories high and it is just one wide open space with standard bar tables and chairs. I went with a friend and we both ordered the Candied Bacon burger with Tots at 5:30 but there were very few people in the restaurant. To start with the good the meat patty was delicious and well seasoned.The waitress who took care of us was very helpful and listened to what we said and the environment was nice and clean. Beyond that everything else was a let down. First, the tater tots came out cold for both orders. When we asked about getting fresh ones we were told that they are done in batches instead of when ordered. The waitress offered us different sides so I tried the mashed potatoes while she tried the potato chips. The mashed potatoes were also cold, I can understand if they were a bit warmer from being in a warming tray but they were cold, and the potato chips were barely better than Lays chips. When the waitress noticed this she went to speak with the manager. Normally I would expect the manager themself to come out and speak with us then but he just took $2 off the bill. I don't need $2 off my bill I would like to know that they understand this is a problem. I might try this place again for the grilled cheese since there appears to be some good reviews for it, but I'd rather go somewhere else where I know the sides will be good. Also just adding brown sugar to bacon does not make it candied bacon, if you want me to come back every week put the candied bacon that beast uses on a burger. I'll stand in line for that. read more

Great food, drinks & live entertainment by Hick Town was awesome. Oh let me not forget the other patrons, we partied together as though we'd known each other for years. Just a very energetic atmosphere. I'm definitely going again. Shot out to Dave Mendoza for his point on vocals!!! The staff is very friendly, service is great & fast. I would definitely recommend the short rib sandwich , avocado capprese, & taco salad with their awesome in house made taco sauce is to die for, just the right amount heat to it, not overly hot. Good size, cooked perfectly, and awesome taste (buffalo flavor). I had the guacamole chicken salad sandwich and LOVED it. The tater tots that came with it didn't measure up though. I appreciate that they offer a couple of ciders (one on tap), and the decorating and ambiance is waaaay nice. The service was friendly, though not yet completely knowledgable of the menu options. I went to Copper Fire yesterday on a field trip for Belleville West Honors Civics. We sat near the back close to the kitchen. We only had an hour-long lunch, and didn't get seen for 25 minutes. Our server Jo, was very rude upon meeting her. She made multiple unnecessary comments, which made the environment tense. I informed her that we were on a time crunch to be courteous, and she replied that we would get our food promptly. My group and I had to leave the restaurant by 1:10 pm. I didn't receive my food until 1:08, and we got there at 12:20. I ordered a burger. After the terrible experience, we attended school the next day, only to find out that Copper Fire wanted to press charges against us for dining and dashing. My group didn't leave the building until 1:30 because we were waiting for everyone to pay before leaving. The person that was accused of dining and dashing, paid in CASH and got change back. I'm confused as to how he would dine in Dash, but get change back. Her service was vastly different to us vs other customers there. I feel like we were racially profiled since our group was all people of color. We saw how she interacted with the white customers and the difference in service was too clear to ignore. This was one of the worst places I've ever eaten. I went in for my 3 year anniversary with my family. There were 2 other tables there. The waitress at least was kind enough to tell me not to order the beef Wellington because it wasn't good in her opinion. The busser had before said it was good and then contradicted himself by saying he had never eaten it before. They were out of the prime rib and short ribs. They were also out of their goose island ipa that was advertised on their menu. Their firecracker shrimp was chewy and the batter came off when you dipped it in their sauce. I ordered a burger that had a great amount of cheese on it but was waaaay over cooked. My husband ordered the beef tips that he said didn't have any salt or pepper. But he liked his green beans. My son ordered the grilled cheese and mashed potatoes. He said the grilled cheese was good but the mashed potatoes didn't have any salt or pepper. It wasn't all bad. Their Brussel sprouts were pretty good and we had the snickers pie and the red velvet cake which were both delicious. The decor is also fun to look at. But I won't go back for decor and dessert. We went to Copper Fire today for a Mother's Day lunch. The interior was lovely and well appointed. We were asked whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. I wish we had chosen to sit outside because the AC was on high blast and there were ceiling fans going as well. We were asked whether we wanted to sit at a pub level table or a low table, and I asked for a low table since I am short and have a difficult time getting into the chairs at a pub level table. We were seated and our drink orders were taken. I asked for sweet tea and I was told that they didn't have sweet tea. Really? This is southern Illinois. We like our sweet tea here. Our orders were taken. While waiting for our food, I decided to use the restroom. Imagine my shock when I discovered a mother changing her baby's diaper on a changing pad on the floor. There was no changing table in the bathroom. No mother should have to change her baby's diaper on the floor. It is highly unsanitary and could be against health codes. I told the mother that she needs to tell someone about it and she said she would. Our waiter didn't come back once to see if we needed refills on our drinks. The busboy asked about and refilled our drinks. Oddly, even though the interior of the restaurant was a meat locker, the ice in our drinks melted quickly. Our food arrived. The son ordered the sweet chicken tenderloins. He said they were fine. Hubby ordered the adult grilled cheese. He said it was good. I ordered the brisket au jus without the grilled peppers and with just au jus sauce. It was fine. Hubby and I both got the tater tots and they were hard. They are probably made in advance and kept warm under a heat lamp. If you eat here, I would suggest the house chips instead of the tater tots. When we were done eating, the busboys came and cleared our plates. We had a difficult time finding our waiter to get our check. He was helping wait on a large group at the back of the room. When hubby saw our waiter behind the bar, he asked for our check and he said he would bring it. Eventually, one of the other waitresses brought our check and we paid her.
