But we understand things happen. We just happened to be in town for a police academy graduation. Found Fletchers on Yelp. If we happen to be in the area again we would love to try it again!!! Absolutely loved my mushroom & swiss burger. I had also ordered a bread pudding to go with extra bourbon raisin sauce. We drove the 4.5 hrs home and Wow that was amazing!!! We celebrated our Christmas lunch at Fletchers, and we had never been there before. We were seated in the back room, which was decorated beautifully but it was chilly in there. Our server was great and made sure everyone had what they ordered. The food was just ok. We had the spinach dip to start which was kinda runny, and I had the black bean soup and house salad with the beets and feta as a side. I was disappointed because I was excited to try the beets and they didn't have much flavor. My soup was bad. My husband got a burger and said it was just ok, and my sister got a pizza that didn't have much sauce on it. We came here for the location, and might be back for that reason but otherwise I wouldn't go back. read more

This was our second time here and it was just as good or better than the first. My husband had the Cajun Alfredo with blackened shrimp and andouille sausage. It was creamy and delicious. I had the chicken tender and fries basket. The were made fresh, hot and delicious! I don't know what they season their fries with but they were amazing. The first thing you will notice about this place is the smell of barbecue smoke, it wafts through the parking lot and it smells amazing. The ambiance is simple and casual. There are a few outdoor tables, a full bar and plenty of seating in the dining area. It is easily accessible for the disabled, with 2 marked parking spots and an accessible bathroom. The menu has something for almost everyone. Lots of carnivore choices and plenty of vegetarian ones, too. They have a great selection of unique healthy sides as well. This is a scratch kitchen. They offer daily specials. Today, it was trout and some type of pork. They also have soup of the day. The service was outstanding by the female bartender! She offered suggestions and my food was prepared quickly and my order was accurate. I ordered a side of roasted beets with feta. There were four large slices of beets with feta served warm. I would give it a 8/10. I ordered the Thai chicken salad. It was a bed of chopped, fresh Romaine lettuce with cubed, grilled chicken and crispy wonton strips. It is served with a Thai peanut dressing a mustard-ish dressing as well. I preferred the peanut dressing and it was really quite good. My suggestion to elevate this salad would be to add finely sliced red bell pepper strips, chopped green onion and coarsely chopped peanuts. Maybe even a slice of lime. We ordered two take out meals, The pizza was stuck to a paper in the box. The pizza tore up trying to get it out of the box. The salad was almost all lettuce. The ingredients of the salad were mostly not there. The ribs were not fully cooked and it was very difficult to cut the meat off the bones. The grilled squash was not fully cooked. This was the worst meal that we have had there and will probably be the last one. read more

Fletcher's on West Main in Belleville is a mile from my house. I've had many items from their menu and I can recommend their burgers, Ruebens, pulled pork and cod plate. Ambiance is casual, staff is friendly and efficient and the bill for my husband and me is usually around 40.00. read more

Baked potatoes were a small, dry and over cooked...could hardly cut through the potato skin with a steak knife. 3 times I've gone and been disappointed. 8 oz filet mignon was maybe 4-5 oz and was good, but I honestly don't know why this place is so popular? This was a sleeper hit for sure. We were looking for a quick bite and a beer after a nearby hike, and Fletcher's wasn't too far away. The Yelp reviews were pretty good, and they were open New Years Day so we popped in! We were definitely glad we did! $2.50 Stag on tap, lots of scratch made menu items, and very friendly servers. We were so hungry I forgot to snap photos of our garlic cheese bread and salsa and chips. Both were excellent, served very fresh, and the homemade salsa was delicious! We had a combo of the burger, chicken salad, and chicken fingers. All were excellent! The house-made BBQ sauce, ranch, and mustard put it over the top. We'll definitely be back. I love Fletchers! It's a cozy atmosphere. The staff is always kind. A few of my favorite dishes: Ed Harley's Pasta, Feta Shrimp Salad, and the Bourbon glazed salmon. Today I tried the fresh fried pork rinds as an appetizer and they were so good! They came with two dipping sauces. My boyfriend loves the Reuben and the Thai Chicken Salad. I was born and bred in Belleville IL. I know it pretty well because I have continued to visit Belleville to see my family over the years since I moved away. Fletcher's is one of the places we used to go for a fast meal and it had always been good. But things sure have changed in my hometown. When I suggested to my family that we have dinner at Fletcher's, my family groaned. I finally talked them into it but I soon learned why their reaction was mediocre at best. I have quite a history at Fletcher's and I have always had a really good meal there. My how times change. First of all, the place now smells. It is a combination of grease and dried up water. Like mildew. The smell hits you as soon as you enter the front door. The smell dissipates slightly if you sit in the back room, but only slightly. The service was bad. Okay so our waitress was new and was in training. But she had an experienced waitress with her. Between the 2 of them, the service was, well, bad. Messed up orders, dropping items on our table, shoving plates around on the table to the correct person, fingers inside the glass with my drink in it. EWWWWWW! No Please! The experienced waitress knew it was bad service and she tried but to no avail. Okay, I thought, if the food is as good as it used to be, then I can overlook these other bad things. I soon found out that the food had suffered as well. My fish was dry. My fish was small. The plate was messy. The cole slaw didn't taste right. The portions were small. Everyone had something bad to say about their own food too. The chicken tenders were dry. The dip tasted like vinegar. And on and on. I hate to see a place crater like this. Fletcher's used to be a good place to go. But no more. Not only can I not recommend Fletcher's to anyone but I will never again try to talk my family into going there for dinner. Stopped in here for lunch on a Sunday shortly after noon, hoping there wouldn't be a wait to get in. We were pleasantly surprised that we were seated right away. Our server promptly greeted us and took our drink orders. For my entrée I ordered their 16oz aged Kansas City Strip steak (medium) and for sides I chose grilled mushrooms and their broccoli. I also ordered a house salad. My steak was cooked perfectly, the mushrooms were a perfect compliment, and everything was delicious. Our server was professional, courteous, and efficient. She came by several times checking on us and refilling our drinks. I liked the layout - it was a combination of tables and booths with a rectangular bar off to the side. It was a comfortable feeling. I look forward to coming back sometime and trying one of their burgers, as they have been recognized by St Louis Magazine as one of the "Best Unsung Burger Joints". Food was good. The buffalo fries had quite the kick to them. The vegetable pizza was very vegetably, but the crust helped in flavor change. Their alcoholic beverages were very strong and their unsweet tea was strong too, but the tea still tasted good in my eyes. There are 2 Fletchers on either side of town, I love both. I call the one on the west end my winter Fletchers, because of the heated patio and the one on the east end my summer Fletchers because of the outdoor patio and walking trail. Both have the same menus and daily specials. The service is great at both, I can be a little difficult with my order sometimes and they always get it right. The wrap i had today, is not on the menu because its actually a sandwich. The salmon club on rye, I took the bacon off, added cheese and put it in a wrap instead of bread !!!! ALWAYS PERFECT!!! if I could have put zero, I would have. I recommend not asking for a substitution unless you also ask how much the upcharge is. Ate lunch here today and asked to sub grilled chicken on a Cobb salad with buffalo chicken. Waitress wasn't sure at first what was being asked but our salads came and it was correct. Imagine my surprise when there was a $5.00 charge for the Buffalo chicken. I asked the waitress about it and she said because we added Buffalo chicken it was extra. So I asked where is the grilled chicken that I paid for because they didn't adjust the price of the Cobb salad for taking off the grilled chicken. She said it didn't work like that. I asked her to bring me my grilled chicken that I paid for. I figured we paid $8 or $9 for chicken on that salad ($5 extra charge and $3 or $4 for chicken in the original price of the salad)...ripoff! I told her she should have told us when we ordered that there was such a high up charge. I didn't get any acknowledgement or apology that she should have. You can smell this place all within a half mile. It has a wood burning stove that meat and pizza's are cooked in. The food is really good! I love their salads.. mostly for the homemade dressings. Their BBQ sandwich is good, the Reuben is one of the best I've had and I have also had pork chops that were awesome. The pizza is good and I had a chicken breast cooked in the wood burning stove that was wonderful! The service is always speedy and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. So, this review is a bit better than the last one, and it's all because of the server. He was attentive, without being intrusive. He listened to hubby's concerns about the lettuce in his salad. He went back and checked on it before bringing it out, and then explained if he had ANY issues with it, he would replace it. The exact OPPOSITE of the server from the last visit. Hubby had the Thai Chicken Salad and it had ALL THE FLAVORS. I ordered the Belle Isle Pie and it was OUTSTANDING! The combination of flavors sounds rather strange, but they WORK! Disappointed. It was my 70th birthday and nine of us went out to celebrate. I'm the one who chose the restaurant and still have regrets. Three of us received cold food (which they took back to the kitchen and nuked) and our waiter was surly. This place was pretty good. Food wise I had nothing to complain about. I had buffalo wings and the taste was great. The sauce had a little kick to it but it complimented nicely with the ranch. The ranch was fantastic, tasted almost like a gourmet ranch. Now the people I was with did have some things to complain about. Two members of my group had soup that was not hot and borderline room temp. The taste was good but nothing to right home about. Another member got a quesadilla and said it was very salty but the overall taste was good. Finally, the last member said the chicken salad sandwich was fantastic and went very well with the grilled zucchini. Service was good not great. Friendly came around every once in a while, but would have been nice to see a few more visits. Finally, the atmosphere. A loud place with dim lights. Not too loud that we couldn't converse, but at times it was a little much. However this is expected because this is a bar. Parking was no problem got in and out very easily.
