The environment is just super cozy! It's downstairs, nestled in a basement that gives a very rustic vibe. Exposed brick and cement. Our waitress was nice. The Italian dressing was delicious! It's more of a creamy Italian. I went with their hibiscus tea. It was lite and refreshing but I wish it wa a little sweet. The mac and cheese was a huge portion with massive chunks of the pulled pork! But... it was lacking flavor. Incase really disappointed with my choice. Want an adventure, head to the bathroom. This has to be one of the more interesting places I have gone in the last week or so. After parking, I went down the stairs into the basement of what almost felt like a prohibition style speakeasy. There was natural brick everywhere and little piggies lining every corner of the place. I sat at the bar and sampled a number of their beers, I think it was eight out of 10. They do serve food as well and since it wasn't quite dinner time, I opted for the special which was butternut squash bisque. Holy cow was this delicious! Excellent visit. The restaurant is located in the basement of this large 4-story building. It used to be the bank's safe area and they use the old safe as their freezer now. Low ceilings and not that large of an area. Tiny bar that can hold only about 6 people. Service, starting with the seating hostess, was open and friendly. Wife ordered a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. I went for the Reuben. Both were very good. She ordered a Porter beer, and I had the IPA special. They were very satisfying. Because the ceilings are low and it's a tiny place, it's a bit on the noisy side....but that also makes it lively, kind of like an Irish pub. We will come back again. read more

It was a beautiful (75 degree) October day to eat a safe lunch outside during Covid-19. Unfortunately, after our beers were served, a bee and a fly both flew into my drink. The bee took off, the fly died and floated. When I asked the server for another, she said "I'll go get a spoon" and took off. Really? Gross! When she came back with a spoon, I told her I thought she was kidding! She refused to replace my drink, said alcohol would kill any germs. I told her "flies land on dog crap" and "I was not in agreement". When she finally did replace it, I was given a short lecture on how I'd better not ask for another, it's not their policy to replace drinks, because when eating outside, "nature is expected"! Wow, wow, wow!!!!! Tip meter down! I suggested she talk to management as I wasn't sure if she was making the decision on her own, but she said she had. We stopped in for lunch on our long drive back from a ski week. We were just going by the sign on Main Street. I have the Asian spiced pork sandwich with pineapple and wife had the fish tacos along with a great red beer and homemade ginger ale. The pork was a patty and was expecting more of a pulled pork style. The flavor was good and only notes of Asian spice. The fish taco looked great and were reported to be very good. The pork sandwich came with the rest of plate covered in potato chips and sad looking pickle. It could have been done a little better. For a brew pub it was very good. We waited 15 min to be seated but the service was phenomenal. I had the mushroom soup it was creamy and delicious paired with their bread I also had the Mac and cheese which was very good. Beer drinkers paradise. Why would you be in Norther NH? Cause it's freakin sweet! Here's my 5 point awesomeness review. 1. The place has charm. Its downstairs in a basement/Abby type vibe and very cool. It's warm and comfortable. Seating is distanced, staff wear masks and handgel is available all over the place. 2. Waitstaff know their stuff and are quite friendly without being overbearing and up in your business. I informed the hostess I planned to read a while after my meal and to let me know if I was bar-hogging. Wasn't a problem even during lunch. I'm not saying you should table-camp but if you let them know ahead of time they'll try to accommodate you. 3. Beer selection was bananas. I had a Carmel-Coconut Amber (6% ABV) and it was nice and smooth. Not a lot of either taste jumping out at me but it had a mild sweetness that I really appreciated. Copper lager (5.3%) was less sweet but not bitter. Had a smooth woody aftertaste. And the PB & J's (Peanutbutter with strawberry in a Downtown Patty Brown nut brown beer 5.2%) was tasty and filling. From the northwest our breweries have like 9 IPAs and 1 or 2 normal people brews. The Pig has a little for everyone and I suggest you come check it out. 4. I had the pulled pork sliders with Carolina vinegar based sauce. Served with potato chips and a pickle. Wow! That was a lot of flavor in a medium sized plate. So much goodness. 5. Growlers are fairly priced for 32 & 64 oz takehomes. Their swag is cool too. "The best beer in the world is the one in my hand". read more

Stopped in with my husband after a drive through Lancaster NH and found this gem. Although I am a confessed NON beer drinker, I have now been converted. For you non beer drinkers I recommend the 4 beer sampler; the Kilkenny Irish Red, blue berry wheat beer, and the grow a pear cider and hits the mark cider! Jessica our sever was amazing and helped us navigate through the beer /cider selections. Jessica was amazing and allowed me to sample the ciders and red. We had the pretzel for an appetizer and shared the grilled ham and cheese with bacon and tomato... the pretzel and bread from a local bakery in town (polish Princess), again AMAZING! Come for drinks and you won't regret it. They have 8 beers to choose from and it's worth doing a flight of 8. My mother and mother in law are wine drinkers only. They were won over by the selection of beers here. My mother in law fell in love with their pumpkin spice beer and my mother fell in love with the coffee flavor downtown patty brown. They both loved the raspberry sour now THAT was my favorite. It was crips with a sour bite of raspberry. The food is very limited that's just my opinion i wish they had more food options. We chose to just have drinks and then find a place to eat in town. Their shirts you can buy are $20 and slim fitted and you can not purchase beer in cans only growlers. I don't know who is giving this place 4 and 5 stars. I travel for a living and have eaten at thousands of restaurants and this experience was a one of the worst. We arrived at 5:25 and the staff had to decide if they would let us in as they close at 6 pm! After we got to our table we watched them turn down two other families who arrived at 5:32 and 5:35. Little did they know this was a blessing in disguise. Ice tea was horrible, beer was average at best. The pretzel was served with a no taste watered down "cheese" sauce. The haddock sandwich was maybe 4 ounces of meat hidden in a large bun, DO NOT GET THE PULLED PORK SLIDERS. The meat is dry and tasteless. The BBQ sauce is on the table is awful. My burrito which was considered a staple here could have come out of a Swanson frozen dinner. Save your time and money.. keep driving to the next town if Smoking T's is closed. I'm not posting this review to be mean I just don't want anyone else to make our mistake. read more

We traveled 40 miles to go to a dog friendly brewery that was opened before 4pm. When we arrived the waitress's first words were he's not allowed in here! We told her we plan on sitting outside on the patio. She then said no alcohol could be served on the patio unless someone was outside. I guess you need to have a baby sitter while having a few beers at this brewery. I had the pulled pork sliders and they do not come with barbecue sauce on them but they are VERY dry, doesn't taste good and everyone was disappointed.. drinks were terrible, had no soda, small portions and everything was dry and expensive. Cheese sauce for the pretzels is awful and watery. No flavor. Liked this place a lot. Service was great, food was delicious and the atmosphere was very cool. Nice views and sounds from the river and inside gave that Old English pub feel. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because the beer was hit or miss. Our group had some of everything on the list as we normally do and half were good and the others were lackluster. Loved the variety they gave some just seemed to be brewed with more skill than others. I would definitely go again. read more

We dropped into the Copper Pig last night with a group of 12 celebrating a Bachelorette party. The workers and even the patrons could not have been better sports with all the shenanigans that usually accompany a girls celebration! The beer was great and the food really was unexpectedly good. I've waited to write a review after I had been to the Cooper Pig more than once! Now that I've been three times, I have to say it has been a great experience each time! On each visit we sat outside and were promptly greeted by staff. It was very busy Labor Day weekend due to the holiday and Lancaster Fair but the staff were timely and friendly, even though it got very busy, very quickly! I ordered a beer (Kilkenny Red Ale which I found smooth and tasty...and the only beer I've ordered since) and my husband has ordered a flight each time. The food choices are limited but come on... it's a brewery... that's why I'm there!! That being said, the Nachos were very, very good and I would definitely order them again. We didn't eat every time we were there but we plan on exploring the menu more on our next visit! I say check it out if you find yourself in the North Country!! read more
