Ive had pizzas in Italy- this is just unbelievably awesome!! All the food we ordered was great, but the pozza is otherworldly. Not sure what they do but the crust is like smth ive never experienced. Must be a master baker. Lots of other cool pastries and baked goods, as they have a literal bakery back there. But its a full pizza joint food place. If you haven't been to Papa Tirozzi's Italian Bakery in St. Johnsbury yet, stop what you're doing and go. Seriously. We drive over an hour--each way--on a busy Saturday morning just to get our hands on Tony's fresh donuts, bagels, and that perfect Friday night pizza. And it's worth every mile. Tony is one helluva chef. His baking skills? Impeccable. Whether it's a pastry or a pizza, everything is made fresh, with love, and you can taste it. His pizza is NEVER soggy, always hot, perfectly cooked, and topped with the freshest cheese. And the sauce... oh man, the sauce. I go in for lunch and order plain boneless wings just so I can dip them in Tony's red sauce instead of the usual dressings. That sauce is so good, I've been known to eat the leftovers with a spoon. It's rich and flavorful but never leaves you with that heavy, acidic regret some sauces do. It's just right. Now let's talk seafood. Yes, seafood. In Vermont. And it's some of the best I've ever had. Tony brings it in fresh, and when he's out, he's out--and I love that. It shows integrity. No "carryover specials," no shortcuts. Just honest, high-quality food made fresh and served with pride. The whole place is a gem. Anthony and Nancy are the kind of owners who care deeply about what they're serving and who they're serving it to. The only thing we have eaten here is pizzas, which we thought were truly excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is quiet, clean, and efficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When you go in, you go right up to the counter, place your order, sit down and then within a reasonable amount of time it delivered to you. Aside from soft drinks they also have domestic bottled and canned beer, which I think is a huge plus when having pizza. I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but the prices for the pizzas are reasonable and not any higher or lower than anywhere else in town. It is a New York style thin crust pizza with great texture. All the toppings were generous and delicious. The medium 14 inch pizza was more than the two of us could finish in one sitting. Eclipse day review. Absolutely wonderful team supplying all of us eclipse chasers with nice substance to get us through the day and also drive back home. Good canned beer selection, fried seafood, sandwich, and pizzas. It's also a nice stop before or after you get into town for a little quiet off the beaten path. The clams and scallops were so tender and crispy on the outside. I loved the fries as well. I can't believe how delicious everything tasted! We had tiramisu for dessert. The selection of desserts and baked goods was wonderful. Everything is homemade daily. The service was really fast for fresh made seafood baskets. The people were really fun & friendly. Tirozzi's is a small place that's big on tasty food, great service and fun times! I went for the first time to attend their Solar Eclipse party. My parents and I had driven up from Massachusetts for the eclipse. After doing lots of searching online for the best viewing spot we had decided on Tirozzi's. Having never been there, we weren't sure what to expect. But from the moment we got there, we were greeted by warm friendly folks looking to make the day as fun as possible for all involved. We spent the afternoon on their outdoor lawn playing games and enjoying delicious food and refreshing drinks. We had the 18" combo pizza which had great flavor, a good crust that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and was very generous in size for the price. We also sampled a few of the local beers including Conehead from Zero Gravity and Fiddlehead IPA. By the end of the afternoon there was a family like atmosphere and a feeling like we were in this together. Sometimes people at the far end of the lawn wouldn't hear their name called when their order was ready and all of us guests would start chanting their name to help get their attention. It was all good natured and made the afternoon even more memorable. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience for viewing the eclipse. I would recommend Tirozzi's for any occasion and look forward to going again next time I am in the area. read more

Food is wonderful, especially the Italian offerings. Northend grinder is my favorite. Was formerly Riley's Fish Shack and they still offer some seafood platters. But stick with what they do best. Italian. Grinders are 12" and full of quality meats and cheese. And delicious. read more

We have been so pleased with the MANY lunches and dinners (as well as breads and desserts). Everything has always been outstanding, whether or not you're dining in or taking out. They have a very cozy sit down restaurant, as well as (in season) outdoor dining. The owners (Nancy and Tony) always seem to be there and in the midst of everything happening.
