Best spot to get drinks in Ybor. If you can get a couch spot, it is also a great date spot. It can get loud in here, and I've been here lots of times when bachelorette parties, or wedding parties walk in. So the crowd can very greatly. The espresso martini here is standard and tastes exactly as it should. Here they call it a $16 The Grind. However, don't you dare sleep on the $17 Smokestack. The drink is legit and delicious. I've also had a $15 Old(er) Fashioned and it is also standard with the 1 giant clear ice cube. I take the trolley from downtown Tampa and get off in Ybor. This is also a good spot to travel from for your next destination.

Stopped by Cooper Shaker just for drinks, and they did not disappoint! I had an amazing espresso martini--smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced. We also grabbed some fries and a slider to snack on, and both hit the spot. Honestly, the ambiance is what stole the show. The space is dimly lit with cozy couches and great tunes playing at just the right volume--perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends without yelling over the music. We Ubered there! Just want to note it's located in Ybor, so parking can be a challenge, especially on busy weekends. Plan ahead if you're driving! Overall, a chill vibe, great drinks, and a cool spot to wind down.

Copper Shaker Ybor is an absolute vibe! The moody, cool ambiance create the perfect atmosphere for a night out. Whether you're looking for a stylized spot for photos or just a high-end environment to relax, this place nails the aesthetic. Major shoutout to Maze and Nate behind the bar. Their service was top-tier and they made the experience seamless. The highlight of the night,, was the cocktail menu and their drink recommendations. The amazing bar staff even let me get creative and sub some of their specialty cocktails with my favorite tequila-Dulce Oro. The drinks were perfectly balanced with a sophisticated flair. The smash burger and truffle waffle fries hit every time. The food is always juicy and flavorful. If you're in Ybor and want a spot that with a dark, chic ambiance with professional mixology, and high quality eats, this is it. I will definitely be back!

This restaurant is beautifully decorated in Speakeasy fashion. The bartenders were friendly and made a good Negroni and Margarita. Hubby and I liked our smashburgers, but the REAL standouts were the Onion Rings. They were tempura-battered and seasoned to perfection. The onion didn't slide out of the batter after one bite like so many other onion rings. I will definitely return when I'm back in Ybor City.

We met up here with friends for drinks on a Friday night. We got in at around 9:30pm and found everyone crowded around the bar as all of the tables were "reserved" via signage for those dining, although there were probably only 2-3 tables still having dinner. The bar itslef was very modern and sleek. We ordered two cocktails - The Bee Sneeze and Fall Forward. Both were very good and beautiful, but on the pricier side. It was challenging to find somewhere to enjoy the cocktails with no tables available for those only having drinks. Around 10:15ish, they did come around to clear the signage from the tables. Next time, we will come in later for a more comfortable experience.

Friendly and quick attentive bar staff when I was there on at prime time Friday night. Extensive list of craft cocktails $15-$17 They had a DJ playing mixed house, pop and classic rock hits that was very good, and didnt play too loud to where you could not hold a conversation with a group. A few couches creating a lounge vibe, in addition to the primary restaurant seating area. A great place for dinner cocktails or to start your night out in Ybor!

This is a tried and true nighttime hangout. The bartenders know what they're doing with the drinks and that's their saving grace. I rarely go anywhere for drinks without being interested in food and unfortunately their food is not very flavorful. So usually what I do is stop at a nearby eatery first and close the night at copper shaker. It can get pretty packed in there so on weekends and certain holidays don't wait til the last minute to go.

This is such a classy joint. In a classy neighborhood. Ybor is like stepping back in time with lots of beautifully restored red brick buildings. Stepping into The Copper Shaker is also a step back in time with a sumptuously designed interior. You know you're in a great cocktail bar when theres a ladder behind the bar! The selection of spirits is top drawer and in every category there's something for everyone, and at every price point. The cocktails are fantastic and take pride of place on a chalkboard on the back bar. I didn't get to eat anything while there but everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious.

It has a more grown-up, elevated vibe compared to a lot of the other places in the area, which makes it perfect for a night out when you still want energy and fun--but with great service and top-tier food. The menu changes seasonally, both for food and drinks, so there's always something new to try. That said, the truffle fries are a staple and always a must--they're perfectly crispy, loaded with flavor, and totally addictive. Even when it's packed, the staff handles it like pros--always friendly, fast, and on point. The ambience is great any night, but on evenings when they have live music, it's next level. If you're looking for a more refined Ybor experience without losing the charm, Copper Shaker is the move.

Food was delicious I got the Alabama sliders and they were fried to perfect the sauce had me sweeping the plate for more. I didn't know what I wanted to drink and the bartender created the most delicious drink. My boyfriend and I discovered the Copper Shaker this time last summer, and since then, it has been a go-to for us when we like go out for a drink for date night or meet up with friends. The location is great and central to downtown Saint Petersburg. It is walking distance from Jannus, one of our favorite venues for concerts and live music. It is nice to walk over to the Copper Shaker for a drink or two and walk back over to listen. I am not exaggerating when I say they may have one of the best espresso martinis in the Tampa Bay area. I also really like their signature cocktails. (try the 20/20 if you like tequila and a little spice!) Aside from drinks, they also have a good selection of appetizers, but in all fairness, we are not coming for the food usually. The atmosphere of this spot is very a bit fancy and low lit. The service is great as well. read more

Had been waiting excitedly for this place to open for some time as I would always walk by and see the sign on the window advertising Mac and cheese (lol I'm a marketers dream...so easily enticed) and had heard good things about their St. Pete location. We started here for drinks on my boyfriends birthday. It is so romantic inside, dark and live music was starting up. Was a bit sad to see they had no happy hour specials and do hope they eventually add them to the menu like the St. Pete location. However, the drink I had, the Bee Sneeze, was worth the stop and I would go back just for that. We did have 1 mushroom flatbread which was good as well. Happy this place is in ybor, can't wait to try more of their menu. read more

Been here twice now and both times Taylor was our server and both times she knocked it out of the park. This last time we ordered the steak and it was surprisingly great-I'm talking as good as some of the local high end steakhouses. Also make sure to order the truffle fries--they are to die for. This is probably one of my favorite bars in Ybor! I came here for a few happy hours after work. I'm not a huge drinker so I do enjoy the sweeter drinks. Every time I come the bartenders are so sweet and informative. I've had three drinks that I absolutely love. The Last Summer, Bee Sneeze, and Mr. Tea are perhaps my favorite cocktails so far from Copper Shakers. The Last Summer is a grey goose vodka with strawberry mint and lime. It's incredibly smooth and refreshing, which I rarely say about alcohol. Bee Sneeze is a gin with lemon honey and apricot preserves with hints of grapefruit bitters. This one definitely had to grow on me. The initial taste wasn't my favorite but it's a keeper. Finally, The Mr. Tea, perhaps my favorite. This is a black tea-infused bourbon with lemon and peach bitters. It tastes like a peach tea but spiked. If you love peaches get this drink! Their food was a hit or miss with me but one piece that stood out was the Carolina Pork Belly. It was honestly indescribable, so I'll let you experience that one for yourself! read more

Was in town for biz and this was the closest establishment to my hotel. The place is new, I'm told. Great service! Hailey was my primary bartender and shes, in a word, great. Attentive not annoying, genuinely warm. not fake, and good at what she does, as was the rest of the staff. Acoustic guitarist was a nice touch in a Sunday night. The space is very nice. Upscale but not stuffy. Felt l8ke a neighborhood joint, but super classy. I sampled the "hot pocket", a pepperoni stuffed croissant. Surprisingly good! Highly recommend! Wow! Hands down a top 3 speakeasy in historic ybor! Went to eat and have a few drinks on Friday night. There was a tremendous live jazz band, playing 1920s style swing music. Ordered a delicious steak, as well as the Mac & cheese and a mojito. Absolutely loved the rich interior design and prohibition themed decor. Can't wait to go back soon! read more

Stopped in here after walking around Ybor during the day time. I had a Burning Chair Egg White Sour made by Miss Caroline and it was amazing! Beautiful location, amazing drinks, music was 90s hip hop and rap (which is stellar), and there is a crazy selection of spirits. As a mixologist myself, I was throughly impressed. Great place and music but was disappointing that most restaurants when they drop your bill off they tell you they automatically added gratuity. Copper Shaker did not do this so that is a disappointment. Needless to say the bar is dark and I missed that. You got me on that one read more

Food is good, but they say kitchen closes at 12... it was a Friday night I got there at 11:46pm and was told the kitchen was closed. Nothing annoys me more than this... got an Uber from the other side of town just bc I know their kitchen is open til 12 (I'm a return customer, well was) But they could have cared less... And all I wanted was a charcuterie board which you don't cook anything on it!? Really lousy customer service and I'll definitely think twice (For Obvious reasons) before I head over here for a late dinner/snack. And I'm a local restaurant owner... I'm definitely not the type of person to write negative reviews but when lack of customer service is so flippant then I'll vent. Just honor your hours that's all I ask. And please don't write me a Yelp apologize after the fact read more

Four of us went after Cigar Heritage Fest and bar was about half full with two tables. We sat ourselves after several minutes and were told to wait for a hostess. Then waited about 15 mins to get a drink and ordered food. Server recommended bucket of chicken, sounded great. Half hour later one of two burgers was served and we were told sorry they are out of chicken but we're going to get chicken nuggets, no charge. They arrived after second burger delivered and were good (hot sauce!). May give em second shot someday. read more

Wow, we were thrilled to find this little gem at the end of 7th street. We happened in at happy hour, sat at the bar and had delicious, unique cocktails served by professional and upbeat bartenders. We ordered several items from the food menu and all were delicious, from the charcuterie board to the tender like a cloud chicken satay. They could not show us any proof of this cancellation and upon further investigation we discovered that the hostess had typed in the phone number wrong and the system cancelled our names from the waitlist (highlighting his lie that he confidently told us that we had cancelled our reservation and that they couldn't see the waitlist communication after it was sent). Due to the error of their end we asked for him to streamline our names on the waitlist and he became combative and told us that he was not comfortable serving us and asked us to leave. We spoke to the manager and they reiterated that they believe we had cancelled our reservation despite having proof that the hostess was the issue. Eventually after speaking to the general manager on duty he was able to magically find multiple open spots for us at the bar and was completely comfortable with serving us despite the allegations made by the hostess. And then after all that waiting, the bartenders were rude, asked us if we were the people causing all those problems at the front, and drinks were awful. Definitely not worth your time. Everyone is rude and you will feel demeaned just for trying to get access to their "exclusive" speakeasy.

The only thing I missed was the Brussels sprouts and potatoes but was told that was from the previous chef. But they serve you enough so you definitely will have left overs. Not a big fan of eating in the lounge areas, those are best just for drinks and maybe desserts. But it's definitely a great place to people watch. They'd just spent over $1,000 on their meal and were still getting charged a cover to enter Alter Ego. That's poor business, don't force extra fees to guarantee money when good music, drinks, and vibes should bring people in naturally and make them want to spend. There's plenty of places on Water Street with great (and I'd say better) cocktails where you're not forced into minimums or covers. The Christmas cocktail menu was disappointing too, poor selections and way too sugary. Love the potential here, but the strict policies really turned me off and made me want to go elsewhere next time.

(though still comically high) Rocca continues to be solid, if not spectacular. Two things I think hold it back; first, value. The prices feel too high relative to the portion/tastiness. A great comparison restaurant to Rocca would be Rezdora in Manhattan. I would put Rezdora a few rungs above Rocca in quality/flavor (it's one of the top 100 restaurants in NYC per the NY Times and has a Michelin star, very different than landing one in Tampa) yet the prices at Rocca are effectively the same (each have a traditional ragu at $28). You also don't have to look as far as Manhattan. Just across the bay is Elliott Aster who I think delivers more delicious food, in heartier portions, at a better price point. Given Rocca is perpetually fully-booked, Tampa is obviously okay with their prices, so I suppose 'don't hate the player' (you can't begrudge anyone from charging what they can in this restaurant environment), but for me the value isn't there. Second - I think the inside could use some work. Looking at Eliott Aster, Predalina, or Ponte you can see an example of more elevated interior design. I think Rocca comes off more kitschy than 'homey'.

Both pastas were incredible: rich in flavor but still delicate and not overly heavy or filling. Just perfect. We also tried the "perfect skinny margarita," and the name fits: not too sweet, not too tart, just really balanced and delicious.
