These are the coolest places in Fla. Secret cryptic entrances with a speakeasy like ambiance. Hidden passages and a clear throwback to the days of prohibition. With all that was going on, it's a wonder we could find the exit after all the drinks. The pirate theme was the caveat. A perfectly dimmed atmosphere and willing performers that can conjure up delicious delights. The red light and point on music only enhanced the experience. Plenty of signature drinks, a dozen different beers and even a few dishes are offered. They stir a nice whiskey sour. It's really what suits your fancy. Fear not. They have mocktails, too! 12/25

Look for the red light above the door to enter this speakeasy cocktail lounge. Dark and cozy - perfect for a drink and appetizer. I loved the bacon wrapped dates for our hors d'oeuvres. Wanted to order the pretzel bites but they were sold out due to the Spring Break crowds. Loved the vibe of this venue. Will come back!

Amazing atmosphere and staff , it really feels like you're under the sea! Best drink I have ever had

Morgan's Cove is a hidden gem that is right in Downtown Tampa. This pirate themed speakeasy has a cool theme with real pirate artifacts. They offer many drink options and even mocktails. There are a few food options, as well. Service was great and attentive. There's street parking available. I would recommend going on a weekday or going early once they open. I've seen the line for this place wrap around the building.

A fun new speakeasy with awesome drinks. FYI if you're looking for clear alcohol, it's not here. My friend said she couldn't find where the vodka drinks were and the bartender said that's because they didn't serve clear alcohol, lol. They do have tequila (I'm guessing not blanco), so if you don't like rum you are still fine. I really appreciate how they only let in the number of people they have seats for. We got there at 6:45 pm on a Friday and they were on a waitlist. It took about half an hour for our party of four to get a text that our seats were ready. This isn't a problem at all since Yeoman is in the same building and had ample seating at the bar. If you order at Yeoman, you can bring your drink over with you. Inside is beautifully pirate themed. I got the Pandan Killer. Just for future Christina, it is good, but I was reminded I'm not a creamy drink lover. Next time I should try something else. Service was fast and friendly. I love it not being crowded since they regulate entrance. I absolutely would come back.

Pandan Killer is the GOAT! 3 skulls & sneaky it is

This place is so fun & the drinks are STRONG! The ambiance really makes you feel like you're tucked away & I love the speakeasy concept. I will say it's starting to become too busy, but I'm glad they're getting good business.

The bar area, tables surrounding it and another little closed off section.

Totally a vibe! A pirate speak easy in the heart of the city of Gasparilla and the Buccaneers? Yes. We sampled almost all of the food, we got 4 things there are 5 options ( Wings, Brussels Sprouts , Shrimp , Seared Tuna) we did not try the dates. The shrimp was delicious, a little on the spicy side if you're sensitive but I loved it. Brussels sprouts were also phenomenal! I had the Espresso Old Fashioned ( my drink of choice) and it was very well balanced. Service was slowish, but it's an intimate setting and it seems the bartender was also having to come to our table so understandable.

Cool vibe. Delicious, beautiful drinks. Firecracker shrimp were dynamite, some of the best I've had. Even the cabbage slaw that came with it was great.

Really liked this place. We've tried to get in before & couldn't. This time we put our name on a wait list & went next door to Yeoman's for a drink. Jaime was working the door. Bree was our server & she was excellent. Drinks were great & atmosphere was wonderful. Very cool vibe. My DIL said food is good too. Well worth the wait.

I went to Morgan's Cove on an early Saturday evening with a friend for the first time. We were surprised that it wasn't packed. We were able to grab the last table but no one was standing in order to eat or drink. We both had cocktails and shared a shrimp appetizer. The cocktails were a little pricey and a little on the strong side but good. The shrimp was also very good!

Speakeasy pirate bar that goes so hard your head will spin. You walk in and are immediately transported to exactly where you're gonna want to be. It's phenomenal. The bartenders are top notch ( and don't worry they don't dress like pirates or try to put on a pirate show) this place is classy believe it or not. Each drink is made with care and flair... and booze. The food was delicious. Got the fish and chips from next door to go because we "had too much" of a good time, and needed fries. Loved it.

    Tricia W.

Such a cute "speak easy". The drink were delicious and we also tried the goat cheese stuffed figs. The male bartender we had was really patient and helpful.

The Zombie - Yes, it is as strong as they say it is

My first time in, and I can confidently say this is my favorite bar in Tampa. We came in at 6pm on a Saturday. They don't take reservations, so we were hoping that they had space. The door is unmarked, like a true speakeasy (look for the red light). The hosts led us into the bar through a bookcase on the wall. There were a few tables available as well as many seats at the bar. The interior decor was whimsical and very inline with the pirate theme. Service was prompt. We wound up staying for a couple hours and had a few rounds of drinks, all of which were fantastic and very reasonably priced. The Zombie really is as strong as the menu says it is. The Pandan Killer had a delightful Pandan flavored foam that we both really enjoyed. They did have a small snack menu, but we didn't try any this time. Needless to say, we will be back soon!

We absolutely loved going to Ciro's when they were still opened and enjoying their fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies amongst many other things. We saw that Jekyll offered "Ciro's Chocolate Chip Cookies" and we were so excited to one, try Jekyll, and two, gobble up some made to order cookies. So, we arrived a few minutes before our 7pm reservation, but were left standing at the entrance as other parties were shuttled right in. In fact, 10 minutes later, we were still standing there. After almost 15 minutes, we were finally escorted into the speakeasy. This was the first sign of how the evening was going to go and, honestly, we should've left after five minutes of waiting. Once seated, we were warmly greeted by Otis, who took our order for the cookies and spiked milk. When the runner brought the cookies they were neither fresh from the oven, nor warm (or gooey) like real Ciro's cookies were. Instead, they were cold, hard and broke like peanut brittle. I spoke to Otis, who immediately addressed the matter and put in another order of cookies. The second order was delivered by the manager, who claimed that he stood and watched the entire process. This was difficult for us to believe because the second batch cookies were even worse than the first batch. So, we called Otis back over, told him we were leaving and thanked him for his superior service. At this same time, a bar tender, who overheard all of this, stopped by with two complementary beverages. The drinks were the highlight of the visit along with the severs graciousness and professionalism. Jekyll appears to be a very nice place. Unfortunately, they don't make, nor serve authentic Ciro's chocolate chip cookies. Two stars for Otis and bar tender. Do better Jekyll!!

My girlfriend and I were in town for a show and I was looking forwarding to continuing to have a good time, but when we made it downstairs, unbeknownst to us, it is EXTREMELY frowned upon to have your own water bottle. The bartender almost jumps from behind the bar to escort us out. Meanwhile, I'm just like wtf happened?! As we try to ask him, he was extremely rude and proceeded to treat us like criminals and kicked us out. Walking away, we were more confused than anything. It's so unfortunate because we were ready to buy drinks and have a good time. What a crappy ending to our night.

No one came to our table to take our drink order, so we just went to the bar to order instead. There were more bartenders behind the bar than customers at the bar and none of them assisted the servers with table drink orders. It took half an hour to order appetizers afterwards, then another half hour to order entrées.
