I know this isn't apples to apples, but stick with me here. A couple of days ago I went to a realatively expensive steak and prime rib place by the mall. It was expensive & nice. But I was saddened by the temperature of the food, the quantity of the food and the taste. So, fast forward to today. I wanted to watch DBacks and have a burger and some beer. I had seen this place but, errr, the location (tucked in the corner of a strip mall), store front looks non-inviting (IMHO). But, I wanted to try something different. So I went, and I was so glad. The inside is much more inviting. Your standard bar and grill like setup. However, the staff immediately was inviting. I found a good seat for baseball, and my server Sara was patient with me as I picked through the beer menu and prices. She was incredle in that she immediately got the measage that I wanted to watch some baseball and relax. Not bugging or pushy at all which I appreciated in the moment. And then, (back to Apples to Apples) the food. I ordered the Grilled Cheese Burger as it got great reviews here. Yes! Quantity? They did not skimp. Plenty of fries. The burger was "grill cheese" for sure - big bread and lots of cheese. Temperature? Hot! The fries were fresh and hot. The sandwhich was hot. And, it all stayed just right through the meal which impressed me. Taste? Yes! Yes, the grill cheese was toasted just right and cheesy and tasty from a texture standpoint. But, wow - the taste. I started with the fries - what an awesome seasoning. I've been burned out on "potatoes" lately - but these made me smile. Then, the burger. Immmediately, I was struck with the taste (!) of their ground beef. Awesome, awesome taste. Hit the nail on the head for a burger. That tied together with the yummy cheese and the grilled sourdough and I left 100% satisfied. Thank you Copper Still. I and my family will be back! read more

We decided to try out this placed based on a Groupon offer and the chance to visit Gilbert for the first time. We asked Oscar our server what his favorite chicken menu items were and he suggested the scorpion chicken sandwich or the B & G wings. I went with the scorpion chicken sandwich and WOW it was amazing. One of the best tasting chicken sandwiches I have ever had. The recommended drink I had was a spiked sweet tea with Ole Smoky Peach Moonshine. Very good! I want to go back and try the B&G wings next. Way to go Oscar! read more

This place was BOMB! My husband and I checked this place out on a Wednesday night. It wasn't crazy busy and we got seated right away! Our server was Hayden and he was excellent. We picked his brain about the food selection and he gave us his honest opinion on some of the dishes and we loved that. He was on top of our table! We got the jalapeño boats. THESE ARE A MUST to try. They were BOMB. Crunchy and creamy and just so good!! I got the chicken parm sandwich and the chicken in it was amazing. My son had honey mustard sauce and I dipped my sandwich in it, mind blown! Great burger! The queso burger was excellent and my wife claims that these are the BEST garlic fries she's ever had. I'm not a garlic fry expert but that is pretty high praise from her. The regular fries with ranch were very good. I do have to say that my son did not enjoy his grilled cheese from the kids menu. It was obviously a processed cheese. I ate some, it was actually pretty good, I think the kid is just spoiled since we normally cook with some high grade cheeses. Kids! The environment is very nice, clean with good service. We have been going to this grill since they opened and my how it's changed. Our experience started with a very young waitress with a nose ring, honestly not something I care to see when I sitting down for dinner. She must have been quite new since she wasn't familiar with the beers on tap and delivered a beverage that was not ordered with the explanation, "Oh, we don't have what you ordered on tap!" We then ordered chips and 10 minutes later she comes back to tell us they don't have any chips but they might be making some "probably" in about 15 minutes if we want to wait. Come on, it's Saturday at 5:30 and they don't have an appetizer on the menu and the waitress doesn't know when we order? So we ordered Jalapeno boats that were supposed to be fried in their house made beer batter. Well, it wasn't beer batter but some type of tempura batter they were fried in and not very good. So let's move into a great sandwich I've been getting for years, the Chicken Philly which has always been shaved chicken as described on the menu. But now it's not shaved chicken but cutup pieces of a frozen grilled chicken breast, some in cubes and some in strips. Unfortunately it was dry and lacked any flavor even with the slathering of mayonnaise, peppers and onions. We always order a side of buffalo sauce for our tater tots and we got the side but it was cold!!! I am so disappointed and after patronizing this establishment for years will never go back. I've had 2 bad experiences in a row with the quality of food and service and won't be trying for a third. read more

Oscar was the best waiter by far and as far as the food the burgers are actually pretty decent. I always like going to the yearly Christmas party and always enjoy the atmosphere. The bathrooms are also really clean each time I've ever had to use them. read more

Been coming here for sometime. One thing I can say is that they are consistent. Our food came out hot. We ordered a couple of burgers. Burgers were juicy and very flavorful. Music was just a bit to loud along with the TVs. It's a sports bar. What should we expect. They have a smoking section outdoors but that day the weather was perfect so I assumed that that was the reason why they left the doors open but I really did care for inhaling someone else's lung exhaust every time I took a bite of my burger as I didn't order it as a smoked burger. The waitress was nice. The fries there are also the best I have ever eaten anywhere. Would love to rate them a 3+ or more but the smoke thing kind of turned us off that day. We will come back though it may have been an oversight that day leaving the door open. read more

Love the food and atmosphere is pleasant. Service is usually great; however, the other day my fries were cold so I asked if I could get them warmed and she just brought out a new batch. Which was great but when I got home I realized I was charged for a second order. I'll tell them when I go back and see what they say. read more

4 of us come here, on the big screen tv, says $2.00 off burgers and $1.00 apps. Got our bill and that wasn't the case. Asked for the manager. Trevor comes over and says thats an old advertisement they don't do that anymore. We said they need to honor as its on every TV.. absolutely would not budge on this after we said we are NOT paying full price and he said NEVER come back here again.... you are banning us because of something you advertised... First time here. We had a Groupon which is a great way to try new places. Greeted quickly, seated and our server Oskar (I think that was the spelling on the bill) was there right away for the drink order. We explained it was our first time and he took time to tell us about specials and his favorite items. We went with his recommendation; the Grilled Cheese burger and I ordered the fish and chips. The burger was one of the best burgers i have had. The cool thing is its not this over complicated thing, just simple but so good. When Oskar checked in with us we told him how good it was and he claimed it was because the cooks really take pride in what they do and they take time to make the food right. Well you can tell because the bread was toasted perfect and the tots... So good. Overall the place has a nice locals vibe. Service was great and the food came out really fast. Food wasn't very good though. Nachos seemed like they were old and reheated. Chips were soggy and it was one solid pile and wasn't very warm which made it think it was not freshly made especially with how fast it came out. Our sons hotdog also seemed old and cold. My wife's chicken penne was decent she said but not something she would get again. Seems like this place is more of a bar than a restaurant. As a bar it seems like it would be a fun place but this review is based on eating a late lunch there. read more

My husband and I come here when we have our car being serviced down the street. We enjoy the food and cocktails and the service is always good. The garlic fries are some of the best we have had. They have a great menu with lots of choices. They have a great patio although we haven't sat there yet as it has been too hot outside when we have been there. read more

Came here for a late dinner w/ the bf.. It's super close to my house which is already a plus. I ordered the Chicken Sliders. This comes with chicken, avocado, bacon, cheese and spicy mayo. It was good accept I think it needed more of the spicy mayo because it was a bit dry for my taste. I got the waffle fries for my side. & they were amazing! My boyfriend got onion rings for his side which I got to try. I'm not a huge fan of onion rings but they were probably some of the best onion rings I've ever had. For my drink I ordered the Strawberry Peach White Sangria. I don't drink moonshine so it definitely had an acquired taste to it. I really want to come back to do their happy hour. They have happy hour pretty much everyday except for Saturdays and they also have daily specials as well. Everything looked very reasonably priced so I'll be back! read more

This place is good. On par for a suburban bar. Big menu and tasty food. Decent drink menu and happy hour & daily specials. Their schtick is moonshine cocktails, although I've never had one so I can't say how good they are. I'd suggest some coaching with the serving staff. When asking about whats on tap, the server looked confused and didn't know the brewery or name of the IPA. He also wasn't interested in finding out. Ate dinner on a Monday night and couldn't have had a better dinner. It's definitely a sports bar atmosphere that's decorated perfectly! Monday nights special is wings. 50 cent wings with great sauce choices, but only have bone-in wings. They do have a baked option though if you are trying to stay somewhat healthy. I had the grilled cheese burger. Oh so good! I would definitely recommend it. I've had this burger other places and this one was better. It only has two pieces of bread instead of 4 so for me was much more manageable to eat. The only turn off I had was I felt nickeled and dimed when the bill came. Extra for a tomato and onion on a burger? And then their drink special was $3 moonshine but charged extra to have it on the rocks. Extra for ice? Seems a little ridiculous. I'm not cheap by any means but just rubbed me the wrong way. We came here for dinner today right before the dinner rush. We had the beef nachos as an appetizer which were average, nothing unique or special about them. I had the chicken quesadillas and a side of onion rings for the entree. The onion rings were awesome and the quesadillas were good. I was a little confused on the service. Today was my first time at Copper Still. The food was amazingly good. Honestly, I expected bar food but it's so much better. I had the Scorpion burger and it brought the heat in a good way! We tried five of the House Drinks; the Orange Moonshine Margarita was my favorite but my beau prefers the Peach Pit. The Copper Fashioned knocked us both for a loop. Overall it was a good experience. I am normally a big fan of Copper Still, however we got delivery on Friday night and the food was not as good as it is at the restaurant. Both orders of Baked and Grilled wings were so over charred that you could not taste either sauce, they simply tasted burned. Very disappointed! Ordered chix sliders & there was no avocado of pepper jack cheese, which is supposed to come with it. Most of my onion rings had the dry, stringy, outside layer of the onion. We ordered take out & was told it'd be ready in 10-15 mins. When my hubby arrived was told it'd be another 5 mins but he waited an additional 15. After he walked out the door he noticed he didn't get the chili he ordered. A guy then came out with the chili but when we got home the cup was less than half full. A new spot that we've made our new Friday night favorite. Excellent craft beer, moonshine, and their dry heat spice rub is incredible. Try the Scorpion Burger (Dry heat rubbed with jalapeño and spicy mayo) or the Steak Phoenix (Spicy Philly Cheesesteak) if you like a little kick. Both if these tasty little devils have been making my mouth water since I left. The waffles fries are good as well as the garlic fries. My wife loves the grilled chicken sliders. I had a bite and thought they were among the best chicken sliders I've ever had. Decent kids options and great homemade, moonshine inspired cocktails. The only thing I don't like is that their patio allows smoking. We sat out there with the kids not knowing this and no one told us when they seated us. We were stuck next to chain smoking jerks whose every other word was f@#&. It was our fault for not checking though, so I won't let it affect my review.
