We all know Mondays can be tricky for eating out, and we decided on Copper Top this week. We thought we'd have to wait, but we were sat immediately. Service was very friendly and efficient, and our server Darian did a great job of keeping our drinks full and empty dishes off the table. We all shared the hummus, and although t I didn't get a picture of it, please believe me when I say it was to die for! It had bruschetta on top and the pita had a garlic seasoning on it. So yummy! My mom and I shared a Thai peanut noodle dish and a Chinese chicken salad. Both were flavorful and the portions were generous. I went home with leftovers for both and I www fed for a whole extra meal. Another person in our party got a bang bang pasta dish and enjoyed it - again, large portions! The drink menu looked great but we weren't up for it that evening. Looking forward to going back and trying their variety or martinis. The stone fired pizzas at Copper Top are the best in Onondaga County, and that's saying a lot since there are hundreds of pizza shops and Italian restaurants in the area. I will never need to try other places again. read more

This is a great place for a family or a big group. I had the 6 cheese Mac and cheese that was one of the best Mac and cheeses I have ever had. The smoked Gouda in it was to die for. I went after a sporting event with the whole team. They were so accommodating with a great number of tables and a good area. The ambiance was great with nice booths and chairs. The burgers are bland aside from sauces, The glasses have way too much ice, The fries are thin and weird so they get hard fast, And they don't say it's smoked Gouda they just say Gouda and there's a difference. It wasn't bad, but I probably would not go again. The service was good; we were sat right away, and drink orders placed quickly. Drinks came promptly, and our food orders as well. They have a wide range of meal and drink options, with most items sounding appetizing. My husband and I both got lavender drinks; him a lavender marg, and I a lavender lemonade. They were very syrupy, which made it hard to finish the drinks, even though they the flavor was great. We got garlic bread as an app, and it was much more greasy than one would expect. But it was still very tasty. Only down side was that the grease weighted down our stomachs, so it was hard to finish the entrees. Copper Top never disappoints for martinis and apps or a meal. Pomegranate martini is my go to, though I did try to order the winter Christmas martini but was told they were out of ingredients. Friendly, attentive bar service. Avocado egg rolls for our app though we considered late night menu that offers some discounted appetizers. Avocado egg rolls for the win. Though I thought the avocado was a bit chunky this batch, I prefer my egg rolls ingredients to be more blended. Large bar area with many televisions for games and sport events. Back dining room has fireplace, though I prefer the bar ambiance. Hopefully they decorate for the holidays. I love the vast choices of the menu. My family and I visited yesterday, all from different parts of the state; Rochester, Syracuse and the Kingston area. We were a party of seven, and greeted promptly upon arrival. Rachel was our server and she was great! We tried all different kinds of things and even saved room for a dessert to share. The food was delicious and service great. We were seated in a long booth near the bar, so I was concerned about the noise level, but it wasn't an issue at all. I would definitely recommend it. read more

I've always enjoyed Coppertop and have lots of great memories of taking the kids when they were younger. They loved the pizza and the pasta dishes. The service was excellent, Maddy was great giving us time to look over the menu, answering questions about items and checking in during our meal. My friend got cheese pizza which looked amazing and she really enjoyed it. I ordered the swordfish which came with broccoli and rice. Not a super long wait about 20 min on a Tuesday at 6pm. Wait staff took a bit longer than expected today take our drunk order. Water and soft drinks got to our table quick but took way too long for the beers to get there (about 10 min later). Ordered our food and that took way too long. One order jambalaya and 20+ min after ordering we were told they were out of rice and could they use pasta for the jambalaya. The rest of the meals had obviously been done and waiting as they were obviously not fresh when getting to the table. The fish fry coating had gotten really bad and the pizza was not hot. Fish tacos were more like fish quesadillas but tasty. The pizza was the honey bee chicken and has a great taste and crust was perfectly cooked. Everyone loves this place. Varied menu with something for everyone. Friendly staff in a tavern style decor.

Put our name on the waitlist yesterday and was told it'd be about 20-25 minutes. After waiting for about 45 minutes, we reached out to the hostess for an update on our place in line and were sad to hear we'd been removed from the queue due to a system error. It happens and we understood, so we waited it out at the bar and after an additional 20 minutes we were seated in the back dining room. We started with the French onion fondue (not pictured because we immediately dug in) which was fabulous. We're thinking we'll use the leftovers for burgers or something- so so good. Both of our chicken dishes were really delicious- with the hot honey sandwich being my favorite. It was drenched in that spicy sweet goodness, and came with a stacked side of fries. Best place I've eaten in ages and I do a lot of eating out and about. The menu was full of interesting things. I would like to go back and try. I had the Cobb salad which two days later I am still working my way through. The service was beyond perfect, and we were a group of old ladies with lots of demands! We've eaten here a bunch - mostly due to proximity and lack of other options. The food is wildly inconsistent; sometimes, we're surprised at how good a dish is (usually a special or seasonal dish), but if we order it again, it's never the same. The biggest issues: - Many things seem to have a lot of oil involved. From the side vegetables to the burgers to the "garlic bread" served on the side of the pasta dishes - there's a strong, oily taste. It's not a pleasant oil - my guess is it's ostensibly neutral, like a vegetable or canola, though it leaves a flavor that suggests it's not entirely neutral. Perhaps a fake butter? Why it's so ubiquitous is anyone's guess, but it leaves an unpleasant film in your mouth. While I understand restaurants use a lot more oil/butter than home cooking (it's often why we like restaurant food better), this oil is not good. - The fries. I guess some people like them; I loved shoestring fries as a kid, but these aren't the same. They have no flavor (aside from the aforementioned oil), and they're the consistency of McDonald's fries, but drier and harder. Recently, we got an order that came with a new, more traditional style fry, and they were so good. We were excited that they finally ditched the cardboard variety but that apparently was a one-off - today showed that they seemed to revert to the old style, unfortunately. - They had an amazing chicken bacon ranch pizza for a while, until one day when it was gone. I think the secret was smoked Gouda, but whatever they used, it was a great pizza. When it disappeared from the menu, I inquired and was told, "oh yeah, lots of people are asking for that." So I said, "is it coming back, then?" I was told it's "doubtful," which kinda sums up my experiences there. Everyone loved it and wants it back? Better get rid of it, then. - The kids menu options are somewhat insulting to children. The "grilled cheese" uses what appear to be hamburger buns, so carelessly made that they seldom match up (that is, the top will be skewed off so the sandwich isn't put together). The kids pasta dishes are just plain noodles, usually undercooked, with no seasoning (i.e. salt) or other attention to preparation. The inconsistency is really the biggest issue for me. Things range from "fine" to "bad," but even if you stick with one menu item, you don't know what you're going to get. Non-chain, family-friendly restaurants are seemingly hard to find in this area, so I really wish they were better. We've kept at this place far longer than we probably should, again due to convenience, and because every now and then, a dish will be surprisingly good. However, those instances are becoming so rare, I think we're done for a good while. I do hope they improve. read more

Last night for our girls night out we decided to stopped in here. Everything we had tasted great, my friends had avocado egg rolls, fish tacos(to me it was more of a quesadilla shape wise) and margherita stone fire pizza. I had the kung pao noodles. I have never been to this particular location, but was really impressed with my visit. This place is huge and the parking lot was super crowded at 4:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Despite the number of cars in the lot, we entered and were seated by a very lovely young lady Who walked us to a table in the back dining room. We were promptly greeted by our waitress who took our drink order. The menu is so extensive that it is difficult to figure out what you want to order. I narrowed it down to three things promising myself I would make a decision when the waitress returned. I ordered an ahi tuna bowl which was the right decision because it was absolutely delicious and fresh. I wasn't sure the salsa would go with the ball, but everything was perfect. The beer was cold and the food was cold just as I ordered it. During our meal, the manager came over and insured our satisfaction. The waitress delivered the bill with a satisfaction rating card. Had time to kill before a movie and given Movie Tavern doesn't really do food anymore we figured we'd stop for dinner first. On arrival the parking lot was packed and we thought we'd be waiting awhile. We were seated immediately and were waited upon promptly. We happened to arrive during their happy hour which had 6 items at a discounted price of 9.99. We ordered the truffle oil fries with a side of garlic aioli. The portions were huge. There was so much we ended up taking the rest to go so we could enjoy our entrees and the flavor is great if you are a fan of truffle. MY GF grabbed a whole pizza which was also on the 9.99 happy hour menu thinking it would be small for the price. It was a full 8 slice pizza probably between 12 and 14 inches and had both mozzarella and Romano cheese and tasted great. I got the jerk Jamaican wings which were served with a Santa fe ranch which tasted like ranch with a bit of a kick. I was expecting the wings to be a dry rub but they were sweet and juicy and very good. I had the best sangria of my life- not to exaggerate but that apple cider sangria was perfect for fall with lots of flavor and was absolutely amazing! I have not been to this copper top in a few years but I have had it catered at my job multiple times and it's always good. I finally made it out to eat things were fairly priced my appetizer and full pizza was no more than $30. My waitress was very nice and checked on us a good amount of time. Everything was even better sitting down in house. (P.s. We were at the stadium about 15 minutes from the restaurant so we left and waitlisted. By the time we got there we were first on the waitlist. They were very generous with the amount of food.
