    Baked rigatoni with mozzarella
    Brittany A.

Avicolli's is one of my favorite local restaurants. This is the second time I've had the Truffle Steak Pasta (19.95) for lunch and it is DIVINE! So rich and creamy with perfect pieces of mushroom and steak. I like that it's not a full piece of steak that I would have to cut up with the pasta. They offer a generous amount of cheese filled rigatoni on the plate with plenty of sauce. Hot tip: ask for more bread to dip into your sauce! My friend ordered the baked rigatoni ($15.95) and thought the sauce had mild taste that wasn't too sweet or tangy, and it had the perfect consistency - not watery at all. He also really liked that the rigatoni was a thicker, high quality pasta. The baked rigatoni was topped with the ideal amount of parma reggiano on top of the mozzarella. Our server today was friendly, efficient, and acted swiftly!

The Avicolli family migrated to the U.S. from Isernia Italy in 1972 bringing with them old family recipes used for generations and still used today in our restaurants and in our homes. Avicolli's originally opened in Liverpool, NY in 1983 with Avicolli's Coal Fire following in August 2019. Their intention was to bring a bit of NYC to CNY by featuring the first ever coal fired oven in the area. My wife and I don't get to the Fayetteville area very much, but we had to drive through to an event in Cazenovia and stopped in for dinner. It was about 4:30PM on a Sunday and were sat immediately and greeted by our server. We had already looked over the menu, so we knew what we wanted, and ordered a full order of the honey garlic rosemary coal fired wings and a 12" simply sausage pizza. My wife also ordered a margarita. Our food was delivered quickly and everything was good. The wings were large and cooked well, we liked the sauce even though it was a little sweeter than I would've liked. The pizza was good, although a little soft in the middle. When we were first sat, there were very few other tables there, but the restaurant filled quickly, and it took a while for our server to come back to the table after we were done eating and waiting to ask for a box. When he did come back, he apologized for the wait and told us he had my wifes drink removed from the bill for the wait - something we didn't ask for, but definitely appreciated. Prices were reasonable, food was good, service was good. We'd go back if in the area again.

I will start this as I always do by saying that I don't give out five stars unless I am really blown away. We have been looking forward to coming here since we heard it was coming into this location. The decor felt high end pizza parlor with a little industrial touch. The panted brick was a nice touch for the coal fire pizza feel. The menu has a good amount of options but felt it is a little overpriced. We had an order of Utica Greens because we love Utica Greens. They came out quick but they were overly salty unfortunately. They had a little spice to them and were cooked perfectly. The salt was just a little to much. We both ordered a 12 inch pizza I had the sausage and my better half had the arugula, prosciutto and added ricotta. My pizza was good. The sausage was delicious but the other meat was a little salty. The other meat overpowered the flavor of the sauce and cheese. I wish I had just ordered the crumbled sausage and it would have been perfect. The arugula pizza with the ricotta was delicious. The sauce on both pizzas was missing a little flavor but the crust was perfect. They have only been open a month so I will revisit for sure. I hope adjustments will be made and this place stays open. Love the bar area and the feel of the place. The price is a bit high for the product being put out so I hope they adjust the flavors to make it worth our while.

I should come here more often. It is always packed, even on weekday nights so make a reservation. They have a cool bar but it can be hard to get a seat during peak after work hours. While the pizza and burgers are fine I find the entrees to be fantastic. My usual is the Seafood Fra Diavolo, I recently had the Chicken Cacciatore which was also phenomenal. I love the caprese salad here as well. Great cocktails. Friendly staff. They have a cute patio area when the weather is nice

This is a busy place, even on a Sunday! I popped in around 4pm as a solo diner before a work event. This is definitely a great place to meet family or friends for dinner. The host said they didn't have any seats available for 1 and requested that I sit at the bar. If I had more time, I would have started with the French onion or wedding soup. The massive meatballs also looked delish. I went with the chicken marsala. It was less sweet, more of a winey and black pepper flavor. I picked fettuccine pasta for my side with Marsala sauce. It was a bit too al dente for my liking. Would I order it again? Probably not.

I don't typically like to leave a negative review, but we are regulars that have gone here for years & know the staff that they have been able to keep for any length of time, quite well. And they should really have had their LEAD Barmaster teach her the underlings how to make a decent martini before the Mgts rash decisions. Because there is not a single other soul on staff that knows what they are doing behind that bar & we will be headed to The Craftsman for a well made cocktail from now on. Rookie Mistake. Lose in the long run when you lose the regulars. The food is decent. But the VIBE just died on 4/3/2025 Nick. We will chat if we stop by again. Poor management, the only bartender that knew her head from a hole in the ground is apparently gone. Order food ONLY. I'd recommend take out pizza. She made the best dirty martini I've tasted locally. When she's not there, half the time I've been served a dirty w vodka? Or they taste terrible. Then you have to drink their bottom shelf wine that they charge a fortune for. And I'm not going out for an upscale dinner without a nice cocktail. I can't begin to say how many of my patients I've recommended Avicolli's to. You may no longer count on my good word, either.

We had a late dinner on Mother's Day. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Delicious margarita! The chicken Cesaer salad and pizzas were delicious. We will definitely go again.

The Wedge changes their menu on a weekly basis so I was excited to see what was on this weeks menu so naturally we had to get multiple dishes to share in order to try as much as possible. We ordered two pasta dishes, truffle fries for the table, and brussel sprouts to share family style and we didn't leave a crumb behind! All the dishes were more unique than a typical pasta dish you may find elsewhere which was extra fun and soo delicious! The brussels were so soft and topped with so much flavor. I would love to come again to try their brunch menu and continue coming throughout the year to try many new items as their menu rotates. I really wanted to try their mac and cheese so I am determined to come back at the right time for that one!

Our server (Evian?) was amazing, patient and gracious and gave personalized service for a group of 10+. She even took a picture for us! The manager came to check in during our meal as well. My ongoing complaint with Craftsman is the ambiance. It is gorgeous inside, the patio is pretty okay, but I have never been a comfortable temperature there...either way too hot or way too cold! I recognize that could be personal preference or a seasonal issue but it's been my experience more than once. They are currently doing some construction in the hall outside the bathrooms. I personally think it is a little overpriced but what they offer is higher quality than some similarly priced restaurants in the area so it doesn't deter me, I just know when I'm there I'll spend a bit.

Then for our entrees I opted for the braised short ribs (pappardelle, ragu, parmigiano reggiano). The braised short ribs were delicious, tender. I could have done without the pasta(tad bit overcooked). My husband had the steak flight with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. He enjoyed each cut and sauces, he said it was actually filling. We ordered the bang bang shrimp appetizer, and the batter was so crispy and also fluffy (almost like a battered haddock but lighter) - awesome! The bang bang sauce has great flavor, but slightly too mayo forward for my preferences - but ate it up nonetheless and would get them again! I also ordered a blackberry margarita- which I will say was strong, but the flavors were great. When I asked if they minded giving me a couple Slices of lemon and some simple syrup (and yes I admitted that it was a ME problem, not that they made it poorly- it was just stronger and I'm a big wimp!) , they promptly, no questions asked said "we got this" and put the drink back in the shaker and added some simple syrup (mind you I was totally fine with just a little shot glass of it to dump in my drink!) - so the willingness to be so helpful was very appreciated. As for our entrees, one of us ordered the Cajun Alfredo and one of us ordered the Tropical Salmon, both were made incredibly well, and the flavor and seasoning was fantastic! The Alfredo sauce when I tried it was lovely, not so thick and "artery clogging" as some Alfredo can be, but coated the noodles beautifully and packed a flavorful punch. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the pineapple and coconut in the rice made for an amazingly delicious dish. We were also fortunate to sit at a window overlooking the swan pond and then take a nice walk around the pond. So lovely- cannot wait to go back!!

Over the course of dinner, the place never really filled up. And as the evening went on, I found out why. I will say that the food was very good - we asked for the Clams Casino and the Mozzarella Wedge. Soup of the day was New England Clam Chowder, it was nice and thick and loaded with both potatoes and clams. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Dinner was the BLI Burger, which my wife tells me was very good but no better than quite a few deli's in Syracuse. I ordered the Truffle Gnocci and Scallops, which was expensive for the portion I got - they tried to make it look bigger by serving it in a large bowl but no one was fooled. About 6 gnocci and 3 scallops with some mushroom risotto. Pathetic. Then came the coup de grace... two filet au poivre with the Lazy Surf and Turf. What does this really mean, you might ask? Well, instead of getting a lobster tail they pull the meat out and serve it in a bowl of butter for you. Hence, "lazy" - you don't have to do any work. And they charge exorbitantly for this service. So the price was $74 for the steak with an additional upcharge of $28 for the "lazy" lobster tail. One guest got the lobster tail, one didn't. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth the price? Absolutely not - I've been to Chicago and gotten a better, larger cut of steak for far less than this. So for dinner the bill came to a little over $300 (not including tip). Ridiculous to pay for 4 dinners and a few appetizers, especially when one of them was a burger and fries. I could have gone to the Grotto in North Syracuse, gotten bigger portions, better quality food and spent about half as much. As it stands, I won't be back - not because of the food quality or the service, but because the prices are far too much for far too little.
