The preserve is always a great time, good food, and awesome service! I've been for lunch a few times with work but recently went for a birthday dinner and enjoyed all of it. I didn't realize they had a different menu for lunch and dinner so I was pleasantly surprised to see some new options than what I am used to. I had an espresso martini with peanut butter cold foam and I wish I could taste the pb but still delicious. My friend and I both ordered chicken and the pieces were huge and so delicious!! We had a reservation for a Friday night and i'm glad we did because the place was packed, which it normally is! We were even 15 mins late and they were super nice about it and had no problem keeping our table for us. All the staff are very friendly and can give an answer to any question on the menu very quickly. I really do like everything about the preserve and will keep coming back! The staff was really nice and attentive. This is the first thing that I noticed. There was no fries at 730pm on a Friday night, not sure how that happens? It's the main side on half of the menu items. The artwork is really nice. It took 45 minutes to get an appetizer....not sure how that happens, as they were not that busy and there is literally 15 people back in the kitchen. I waited 30 minutes for food and figured I would work on this review for the next 15 minutes while I still wait for salads. My wings that I ordered did not get made until the server realized they were not coming. The salads were good, kids complimented a salad! The wings were good too, kids enjoyed those. They adjusted the bill for the delay to their credit. Probably will never come here again but the staff works really hard in the front of the house. read more

Really nice interior, we put in a reservation ahead of time for a high top table. Upon arriving they did not have a high top table reserved for us, but luckily sorted out an option albeit being a little awkward as we stuck out into the aisle in an inconvenient way for others. The food itself was good, my party ordered 3 hot lobster rolls. Mine unfortunately looked a lot different, and not what I'd expect for a roll of the price. It was tiny, shreaded pieces that looked more like the end of the container or lobster salad. The taste also didnt compare. The other two however were good with large chunks of claw meat. I wouldn't get my version again but would consider the other two. These were supposed to be all the same sandwich though so I am not sure about it. The appetizer and desserts for the evening were all great. We were shocked at how much fried dough there was for the cinnamon butter fried dough. The service however by the end of the evening really was fantastic, they did a lot to make up for the reservation mistake and I really appreciate that warm attitude. read more

While my lobster roll was fantastic, other people who ordered the same thing received far less chunks of lobster and it was much tougher. Server was attentive and nice. Due to an issue with our reservation we had a fairly awkward seating arrangement in the bar that felt a bit crowded whenever someone passed by which made it difficult to enjoy the ambiance. I was really looking forward to trying this place after reading so many great reviews but unfortunately, my experience was pretty disappointing. I ordered the Cody sandwich (a chicken pesto sandwich), and it was surprisingly bland. I was expecting more flavor especially with pesto but it just fell flat. My fries were also lukewarm. Had a dinner reservation with some friends on a Friday night. The service was incredibly slow especially for ordering 3 salads and 1 alcoholic beverage. So this isn't going to be a review so much about the food, but our experience. As you read you are probably going to be like "yeah so why 4 stars??" Well here goes... I booked a reservation for 5:15pm as we had an appt at the theatre but we were running a little late due to weather and arrived around 5:35. I did call ahead to let the restaurant know and they were fine. We arrived and were promptly seated. The restaurant was quite busy. Our server greeted us and was lovely. We put our drink order in and then apps and food a bit later. We expressly told the server that our show was at 7:30 and her response was "good to know!". Then things went sideways. The drinks were very late to the table but the server apologized. They were rather tasty though and she convinced me to try a new Roku gin which I did! Good choice! The mozzarella app came promptly, it was tasty though pretty common. Then...we waited...and waited..and waited. 20min- 30min- 1 hour. We had been told that their new menu premiered today, and the server was also running around like a chicken with her head cut off. We later were told that they had cut a server earlier because they had not anticipated being as busy. Ooooops!! No bueno! The other issue was that our server, had tables all over the restaurant. Not in a specific area but like all over. Being that our show was at 7:30, at around 6:50 after speaking with the manager the food arrived. Here is the good part- The manager was AMAZING. She knew that the restaurant was in the wrong, she knew they were unprepared and she took action. She along with our server got the food to us with copious apologies and she made it right. I will leave that there- SHE MADE IT RIGHT. My brother was in the restaurant business for many years and explained where the failures happened - a new menu and lack of staff and why the mixture was not a good combination when unprepared. I asked if the owner happened to be in the restaurant at the same time and I was told yes, but that they were in a meeting discussing sauces. Lord have mercy! That bothered me, considering that there were problems in the dining room and the owner was nowhere to be found, but at the end of the day, the manager and our server really rose to the occasion, took care of the issue, apologized profusely, and we left feeling as though we were taken care of even though we had to shove our food down our faces in order to get to the theatre. Will we go back? Yes, of course - we will give them another chance but more over the owner needs to recognize that there was a problem that likely there will continue to be a problem unless they learn from the mistakes with his or her management team so that these things do not continue to happen. One thing our server did say to us is "we really enjoy and appreciate the feedback that we get so that we can pass that along in the hopes that management and ownership will listen to us, and these things won't happen again; she was embarrassed. We told her not to be. We tipped her highly because we felt that this was not her fault at all; that this was the fault of ownership and management not properly juggling all of the balls in the air to make a smooth evening for everyone. As we left we noticed that the restaurant was even more jam packed than when we arrived- I do hope that things got a bit smoother! read more

I was very pleased with my family's meal last night. Water was delivered to the table as we were seating. We ordered the fried mozzarella as an appetizer and they were delicious! We shared the funky chicken (buffalo) pizza, wedge salad, and sweet potato fries (well done); everything came out perfect, it exceeded my expectations! This unassuming restaurant in a warehouse district was just what we needed after a long drive. The shrimp app was so tasty and had a large portion of shrimp. The burger and tuna melt were large and tasty, as were the fries. The strawberry salad with salmon tasted great but was sorely lacking in balsamic and I was basically eating dry spinach. To say I was disappointed would not be fair as that would mean I had a certain expectation, which I did not, being my first visit. We arrived, and the host person was not present. After a couple of minutes, she walked over from an open area a bit to the side. She had been eating, I guess(still chewing). We were seated with menus, had no setup/utensils, and were offered water. About 10 min passed, and the bartender asked us if we had been helped... she thought it had been a while. I guess she went back to get the person that was helping us, and he returned with the water after a few minutes. We were served our appetizer by someone else and still had nothing to eat with, so we asked and were brought utensils. Lastly, my salad was served without the side dressing. The food was decent, and maybe it was an off day, but it was enough for us to agree we wouldn't return. read more

I visited for the first time last night and I WILL be going back! The artsy atmosphere alone was amazing! You'll fine tons of eclectic art on the walls. The cocktails were so creative. The menu is extensive - something. For everything! This time I got the cheese board as an entree. Lots of leftovers from that. It was delish with many choices. This is a great spot for lunch, dinner and drinks! I love coming here with my family. We love it here. They have a spacious indoor seating area, and they have a large outdoor patio. Sad to report that The Preserve isn't any good anymore. A group of 5 of us consistently frequented The Preserve on Tuesdays before Broadway shows - it was our favorite local restaurant with the absolute BEST Chicken Riggies in the area. Unfortunately we will not return. The new menu doesn't have many options, no salad unless you pay extra, had to ask for silverware, never refilled our water glasses or fulfilled a second round of beer orders, etc. They also consider 5 diners a "large group" and automatically charge a 22% gratuity. read more

My two sisters and I had been at the hospital for 4 days visiting and dealing with our mother of 91 who had fallen and broke her neck. We were exhausted and worn down from the busyness and lack of sleep. It was time to step aside and relax. I saw the Preserve At 405 on Yelp and it looked like the right place. We arrived and were seated right away, the ambiance looked perfect for us. Our waitress Jessie greeted us with a great smile, we engaged in good conversation that relaxing and entertaining, she read the table just right. We ordered a round of drinks which we received quickly and were made to perfection. The food was exceptionally good, our burgers were seasoned just right and were delicious. I'm from Southern California where fine dining is plentiful. Finding The Preserve At 405 wasn't just a meal, it was a well needed experience. As many places that I have dined I have never had an experience that was so enjoyable that I would actually take the time to write a review about it, till now. We stopped in here as a family and we are so glad we did! We didn't make reservations (which I would highly recommend you do) but they were able to get us a table after a 25 minute wait outside on their patio. We could tell they were very busy and consistent as most of the guests we saw coming in had reservations and the floor appeared full the entire visit. Our server was very nice and friendly--she took great care of us and our drinks and checked on us the appropriate amount of time. I ordered an Old Fashion which I thought was delicious then I also wanted to try the 405 Press which if you like fruity drinks you definitely want to give that one a shot! For appetizers we got the mozzarella wedges and the bacon wrapped scallops. Both were devoured quickly and didn't stand a chance with our foodies. The blueberry jalapeño jam was soooo very good too! I ordered the hot lobster roll which had giant meaty chunks of lobster and a golden butter sauce that I poured over top. The sweet potato fries were served with a brown sugar cinnamon dipping sauce that everyone was thrown back by! Hubby got The Abnormal pizza "half normal" (no jalapeños on one half) and the kiddos helped him out. He loved the crust and thought the ingredients all tasted very fresh. Middle daughter got the seafood sandwich which she ate with barely any breaths between bites and biggest daughter had the Cajun shrimp Alfredo which she could not stop talking about the creamy pasta sauce. The place was packed led, but we were able to sit at the bar and have dinner. Our drinks were reasonably priced. We both did sandwiches for dinner and they were good! I am from Rochester and on September 17th, 2025 I was hosting a birthday party for my girlfriend there. I arrived early and was treated very well at the bar. After my party was fully there, I went to the hostess to let them know. We were seated in the dinning room that was full of smoke which explains why there was a fire truck out front when we were seated. We had to endure the smoke during our entire visit. I had to get eye drops for my girlfriends daughter as she was having issues with her eyes. As the night went on, our server was LESS than attentive to us. The only time we saw her was when she either brought drinks or food. She never checked in on us after the food was delivered or asked anyone at the table if they needed another drink. Her daughters food was less than stellar but because she didn't check back until it was time to wrap up the leftovers it didn't make much difference as she went hungry. On top of all this, I was told they automatically add 18% tip to all tables of 6 or more. I do not believe she deserved that tip!!! she didn't deserve 10%, but because it's added to the check, I guess she thought that she could ignore us as she was getting it anyways. I don't recommend any party of 6 or more to attend this venue. I am disgusted with the smoke and the service at this establishment. Even if they offered me a free meal I would not return!!! read more

I highly recommend a reservation because this place was packed down to the parking lot. This does d not deter the staff from being amicable and attentive. We were able to grab 2 bar seats which have full food service. The bar tenders were kinds and gave us beyond great service . They checked on food temperatures for the special which was prime rib. The dinner comes with a salad and we had as app bacon wrapped scallops with blueberry jam delicious. We just went today Saturday June 28 around 3pm and was given a table not to our liking and when I showed her another one the waitress told us "I can't do that " because we were ready for the 5pm crowd- mind you the place was practically empty. But what got to me was that 5 minutes later she sat another couple. I never used this word but she was discriminated in my opinion.
