Terrible service and management who doesn't understand the difference between reheating and cooking meat "Some more" to make up for Food that comes out cold (manager is a misnomer in this case) ambiance is like a dark dank mess hall.

Second prime rib dinner with mushrooms. The cut was disappointingly a bit tough.

This one is hard to write as I have had the large prime rib twice there. The first time it was the very best prime rib I have ever had - cooked medium rare with excellent lightly smoked flavor and as tenderly close to melt in your mouth as could be imagined. The loaded baked potato was just that and wonderfully so. The house salad was very good. This last time (last weekend) I ordered the same thing with great anticipation and the meat was at to top end of medium and almost done. The smoke flavor was all but absent and there was enough connective tissue to make a lot of it fairly chewy. The loaded baked potato was wonderful as was the house salad. Service was excellent. I don't know that I will come again for a tie breaker as there are other places in McCook to get prime rib. To say I was disappointed after the great meal I had the first time is an understatement.

Really great food and service, a bit expensive but I traveled 5 hours just to eat here for the second time. Totally worth the trip.

I got left over alfredo. You could tell it had been reheated as the butter was separated from the sauce. Thanks for the expensive meal...

The place definitely has character - it's vintage with taxidermy everywhere. Polar bear, giraffe, bull, deer heads on the walls. Feels like you're eating in a hunting lodge. *Food*: I ordered the boneless ribeye, medium rare. It was an average steak - easy to chew, but had more fat than I'm used to and the flavor was nothing special. Didn't dislike it, but wouldn't call it memorable. My daughter got the steak sandwich and my wife got the steak burger. We all agreed the food was delicious at the time. *The catch*: A few hours later my wife and daughter both had upset stomachs. I just felt bloated. My son was fine. Could've been a one-off, but worth mentioning. *Price/Service*: Restaurant itself is pricey. Menu items are fair, but the steaks are expensive for what you get. Service was fair - nothing bad, nothing great. If you're passing through I-80 in Paxton and want the experience/vibe, it's a stop. If you're driving out of your way for "best steak in Nebraska", I'd keep going. The taxidermy is the main attraction.

The "Lyt and Linda Eating our way across America"…read more What a fantastic find! We are RVing in our motorhome from Raleigh to Boulder. Spending the night at a nice RV park in Gothenburg. We heard about T Walker's on Main Street in downtown. Read numerous reviews extolling the wonderful food and pies. We were greeted by Dianna, our server who immediately made us feel welcome! The menu was filled with sandwiches, soups, salads, and steaks! That's what we came for! We started out with home made cheesey chicken tortilla soup with just a light amount of kick to it! Since Nebraska is known for steaks, my wife and I ordered 12 oz Ribeyes, baked potato with lots of butter, and tossed salad with home made ranch dressing. When Dianna brought the steaks my eyes popped out! So big, I'm sure it was a full pound! She said "he cuts them by hand in the back". Yes Sir! I can honestly say the nicely marbled rib eye, seasoned just right reached what I call the "OMG" level for tastiness. For drinks I had a lemonade with Absolute Vodka. My new favorite drink. Then the time for dessert! Dianna, brought a long list of home made pies. We chose the Dutch Apple Pie with vanilla ice cream. Just delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant!
