We came here for the Notary service, and we were not at all disappointed. The notary is the business owner, who gave us his full attention in doing all the tasks that notaries do when witnessing the signature of an important document. He dutifully checked our IDs, and ensured that all the paperwork, fingerprints and logging were done carefully and properly. I just want to say that had a very good experience at Copymat in Walnut Creek. I went there last week to get a loose-leaf textbook bounded. As you can see in the photos, Shawn did an impeccable job. He was very helpful in choosing the ideal binding for my textbook. Now, I can use my textbook with so much ease! The worse thing about a loose-leaf textbook is that the pre-punched holes tend to break when you flip the pages and then you have to apply hole-punch reinforcement labels which can be time-consuming. I'm planning on going back to Copymat Walnut Creek for various other services like color printing since I don't have a color printer. Shawn will print your document if you email it to him and then you can just go pick it up! Super convenient, that way you don't have to fuss with the printing hardware, ever! I tried to have Copymat Walnut Creek help me with two printing projects. I sent files to get their feedback, they suggested an edit, when I sent them a revised, they said, "I cannot help you with this project". I do work in events and deal with printers ALL the time and for a company to just say they won't work with you without any reason of explanation is really awful customer service. I would not recommend. There are PLENTY of printers out there with A+ customer service and this is not one of them. I never write reviews ever and definitely felt the need to for this one. Responding to the owners note: The aesthetic of the print WAS for the words to be cut off at the edge, which I explained. I also attached a photo to show you that. You did not give any reasoning for why you couldn't take it. I suggest you work on your customer service etiquette. read more

Came in to drop off a box with a prepaid label (return item to Lowe's hardware). Box was totally intact except it required three pieces of tape across the top to seal it shut. I was informed it was going to be a $2 charge to tape the box. The reason I was given? They ship 10 packages return packages a day, with prepaid vendor labels, (which they don't make money on) and the business has to pay for the tape so they pass that cost on to the customer. I was shocked to say the least. What kind of business practice is that? That's like going into a restaurant and the server coming over after the meal and saying that you have to contribute to their water bill because they need to wash your dishes. Hey Copymat, ever heard the expression "cost of doing business?" Like water to wash dishes at a restaurant, tape is your cost of doing business. Speaking of business you'll NEVER have mine again. Addendum: I didn't have $2 in cash so I got charged a $.50 fee to use my credit card. read more

I walked in to print some passport photos and the person asked me to wait since he have a big job on his hand and after 20 minutes he asked me to send the photo to the stores email and then objected that the sizes are not original so I have to send another one and waited till he finishes his other works and he printed me the full A4 letter size photos all in one page , when I asked him to cut it in individually he start yelling that I didn't mention to cut it but just print. Then he shredded all the photos and said we don't do print for passport photos unless you take the photo here. We needed to get a document notarized and this was the only place opens before 10. When we went in, the owner was on the phone so we patiently waited for about 5 minutes and he picked up another phone call. He didn't bother to say a single word during, not even a smile or a nod or apologize. We did the notarization anyway and another customer walked in who is an Indian, he suddenly became so nice, greeting him and ask him what he could help while he was helping us. He rushed me when I wrote the address for USPS certified mail for like a minute. By the way the post office charges way less for this service than this place. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone unless you are in the owner's preferred ethnic group because this is pure unpleasant for us. read more

The Copymat is right across the street from Walnut Creek PD, so make note of it, don't do stupid s__t like the guy who made a U-turn in front of it (slaps palm on forehead) as we were pulling into our parking space! One of the printers was jammed so I had to wait a little while just to print one sheet of paper. She was very concerned about my wait time and kept checking in to see if I was in a hurry.
