My favorite errand to run is always Lafayette Pack & Ship. Sue and Ian are such a pleasure to visit and they do a great job with whatever I need them to do. Ian has notarized all kinds of things for our small business. He has taken passport pictures. He has packed and shipped many, many packages to send all over the country. Sue does a beautiful job printing my company newsletter every month. The pictures are bright and clear and all the colors pop. I really like the paper also. It has such a great feel. I am always getting compliments. The printing is always so quick too! I email Sue a pdf and she always calls me within an hour or two. A few times I have been one of those difficult customers with some thorny problem and both Sue and Ian are irrepressibly cheerful and innovative with their problem solving. Very great experience here. The shop has everything you need for shipping and packing. The notary service was great and the gentlemen assisting did a great job. He explained everything he was doing, upfront about the costs, and very thorough. The fee was modest about what one would expect and totally in-line with other notaries. Do not go here! I initially came to this business because they said they had the size box that I needed. He also tried to quote me $3k (see screenshot) for what usps charged $120 to ship (see receipt). When we got the box home I found that the box he sold me was missing a top, he had already cut off the tops flaps, and there was no way I could use it for the size I needed as it was missing an entire side. He also sold me compressed masonite composite and told me to build the box with that in the bottom for stability. USPS told me no way, that extra weight is what would make the package go from $120 to $1200. So today, 1 business day after the purchase, I tried to return the box and masonite and he refused. Scammed me on the box, materials, and tried to scam me on the shipping too. Edited to point out: look at his response. If you had an issue, how do you think that he would treat you? Also his response isn't accurate and his name is Ian, not Susan. Susan is his wife. read more

LPS+PC is what you wish for when you think of a place to help with mailing stuff. The owners seem to just love mailing and shipping and printing stuff. They act like you're giving them a gift by allowing them to help you. Plus they're experts. Like, they know the PO Box address to mail an expedited passport submission to off the top of their head. Down to the Zip+4. And they know the check amount you need to include and all the docs that have to be sent. That's a great example of how they have your back here. Their prices are reasonable and they're upfront about when things will get picked up by or dropped off with USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. This place is awesome. read more

We used to take our large printing to Costco. But Costco doesn't print anymore, so we needed to find someone else to print the signs for our business. Lafayette Pack and Ship + Print Center worked with me to get a two sided sign out quickly. I sent them images and they determined that they could print them that afternoon. This review is for Ian for notary services, although I'm sure that any business done at Lafayette Pack and Ship with any staff is a positive experience. You certainly don't always see the level of professionalism, helpfulness above and beyond, and friendly patience that Ian showed when I was in the store today. A couple came in with several documents that needed to be notarized (mixed in with other paperwork and other documents that did not need to be notarized), but there was quite a bit of disorganization and confusion, and they were completely relying on Ian to sort things out. I'm sure Ian has seen and is well versed with myriad documents and forms, but this was well beyond a normal request, and as time went on, I was more and more impressed with his patience and good cheer. Ian is great, and I highly recommend supporting this excellent local business. read more

Very, very bad experience at this shop: the owner and wife were rude, unhelpful, cut us short and essentially kicked us out when we asked for help retaking a passport photo and said that we would of course pay for it; By contrast we went across the street to Walgreens and they were much more helpful and friendly, as if it were their own business, and took care of our needs without any problem. I'm sorry to say that I had a couple of unfortunate experiences with Lafayette Pack and Ship + Print Center. As someone who makes it a point to support local small businesses, it's always disappointing when things turn out to be a negative experience. In my most recent encounter, I was shocked to find that my shipment had been carelessly bundled together, with two clearly used and damaged boxes. When I approached the owner to try to exchange the damaged boxes for new ones, he became very defensive and began yelling at me. I simply asked for a repackage and he called me a racial slur. I also believed he overcharged me as when I got a very high quote from them, then had a white younger colleague try again with the same exact parcel, and they charged her $80.00 less. I understand that oversights happen and that mistakes can be made. However, I was extremely disappointed by the owner's response. It's always difficult to have to leave a negative review for a small business, but unfortunately, my experience at Lafayette Pack and Ship has left me with no other choice. I hope that they can take steps to improve their customer service and avoid similar incidents in the future. read more

I tried to ship DHL packages through this location and the clerk would not accept my packages because she said they did not have the right documentation. I explained that DHL has an electronic transfer system and the documents had already been uploaded, but she insisted that 'I've been doing this a long time" and she would not accept the package. I felt talked down to, patronized, and was frustrated by the waste of time. I've just gotten off the phone with DHL and confirmed my labels contain everything they need. While I was there, I asked if I could print out a blank commercial invoice so I could complete it as she was instructing (even though I was confident it wasn't needed) but was told it cost $2.50 to print a single sheet of paper. This seemed outlandish. I will not be visiting this location again. read more

Printed Table Signs and Programs for a Wedding or Event: Sue and Ian were an absolute dream to work with! We ordered print and trim for all our wedding signage and nameplace cards on 80 pound card stock. We also had a beautiful welcome poster printed. The quality is amazing, the price was super reasonable (especially compared to wedding prints websites)! Sue was so friendly and very responsive: we corresponded by e-mail regularly, she made test prints for us to review, the final print was done within days (super fast!). We submitted all files in PDF format. I highly highly recommend Sue and Ian for prints for any event! I've already asked my brother-in-law if we can handle the prints for his wedding with Sue. Sue and Ian are two of the nicest small business owners one could ask for. As a bonus while they prepare your shipping, you can find a wide variety of quality cards to add to your package. My boyfriend recently dropped my return shipping without the label. I called in the morning and sent them the label. They printed it free of charge, just doing a good deed. When you tell your customer their delivery will arrive the next day, the customer doesn't need to know if the driver that is in the store is the only one that can take this package on that day. The nice lady could have said the package will only be shipped the next day. When originally she said it will arrive GUARANTEED tomorrow. The delay is not on you, but bad communications is on you. I have been coming to Lafayette Pack and Ship + Print for a couple years now for unusual needs: printing maps, tokens, and more for a homebrewed Dungeons & Dragons campaign. I've asked Ian and Sue to field unusual requests with specific parameters (e.g. printing large custom battle maps in which the grid is perfectly 1"x1") that have often required a fair amount of trial-and-error. Ian and Sue have been patient, resourceful, and extraordinarily friendly as we work together to get my prints just right and marvel at the results. What a pleasant experience it was to meet Ian! My granddaughter and son-in-law were stuck in Europe with an expired passport. We needed an emergency passport application notarized before they could board a flight back to San Francisco. I contacted Ian and explained our situation. He generously offered to reopen his store after closing hours so that we could get the document notarized, scanned, and transmitted. They rushed to the embassy, processed the application and flew home the next day. Ian saved them a day of limbo! He was simply happy to help us in our time of need! Great guy!
