I was introduced to Copymax 11 years ago when I started my first company offering computer repair. At the time my only way to grow was to design a new flyer, have Babak (the owner) print 1000, and then pass them out on cars at events. Just a few citations from the city of Carlsbad later, it worked. Today I owe no small part of my very mediocre success to Copymax's awesome support of my continued, guerrilla marketing efforts. I will admit that I did graphic arts professionally at one point, but I am not a printer. Babak works with me on bleeds, boundaries, fonts, and other guidelines to take my designs from screen to page. He helps me print just about every item he currently attests to sell: flyers, trifolds, banners, signs, mailers, and lots and lots of business cards. And...him and Georgie even wrapped by Ford Transit with a partial vinyl wrap that saved me thousands over a complete job, and drew compliments everywhere! I am currently single-handedly reversing the emerging global trend of working at home during COVID, and seeing more and more clients in my office. I believe this may be because everyone is at home. This prompted an initiative to spruce up the place. We did floors and doors, paint, counters, floating monitors, etc., but something was missing. I recently visited a global pharma company and was admiring the beautiful acrylic signs they had mounted in the lobby. I asked Babak, really expecting to be turned down this time, if he could print one. I don't know why I doubted him because not only did he respond yes, he also made some of his typical helpful recommendations on the design, guided me as to which standoffs to order, printed the sign in no time, and even helped me load it in my car. So I've printed through this company before and they were really helpful. This time around I called to get a quote about a banner, and Bob was rushing me and cutting me off while I was asking questions. At one point in the middle of me asking a question he said, "check this out, I have a customer in the store patiently waiting did I answer all your questions? If not I'm going to put you on hold" Rude as hell! I wouldn't recommend this guys business to any of my family or friends! Mind you when you go on their website to place an order, all their items say "call for quote" so if your website is directing customers to call you, don't be a jerk! Be nicer on the phone. I didn't mind waiting if he put me on hold, but I just didn't appreciate him being such a jerk cutting me off and just rushing me. I found Copymax from Yelp by searching for "Copy and print center," and it showed up first, with great reviews. I went there first thing in the morning to print and copy a document from my e-mail. I needed the copies immediately for filing in court (down the street). There was no one else in the store, as it had just opened. Nevertheless, the man behind the counter told me it would take a half hour to an hour to print documents from the internet. A HALF HOUR? The store was empty. There was no one at the computers. How could it possibly take that long? What kind of copy/print center doesn't have a ready capability to copy/print from the internet in 2018? Was it really too much trouble? I ended up just Yelping the nearest FedEx/Kinkos. Wish I hadn't wasted my time with Copymax. Bottom line: don't count on Copymax if you need to copy or print anything on short notice, like a document or filing. This isn't that kind of "copy/print cent UPDATE: Look at the owner's response below. He implied that I wasn't willing to pay the minimum 5$, then he called me an "idiot."
