(I've been going there for about 15 years and the facility is wonderful, clean, and the staff extremely professional.) In all those years, I was only responsible for the facility copay. Never did I receive a separate bill from the anesthesiologist, until 2018. For no apparent reason, they started sending me a bill for 2 co-pays after every procedure I'd have done there. First of all, when you go to the surgical center, the actual MD or DO from the group sees you in the preop bay. He reviews your chart, asks a few questions, and is supposed to do a quick exam on you - listen to your heart and lungs, maybe check your airway. In all these years, the doctor has done that to me approximately 2 times out of the maybe 100 times I've been to that facility. He charges close to $1200 to your insurance company for that. Next, you go into the OR and a nurse anesthetist does the real work, checks your lines, puts you to sleep. Did you know that she works for the same company the "real" doctor does, and she charges about $1175 to your insurance company? So, in 2018, they started billing me two co-pays every-single time I had a procedure. If you know anything about pain management, cervical or lumbar epidural injections are done in three's - so that's close to $400 in co-pays that they get from me. It would've been nice if they explained why, after 12 years, they started separately billing me a copay, but no one ever explained that. If it was in any paperwork I signed, I certainly never saw it. By the way, this is totally legal. Don't get me wrong, just because they charge $1200 and $1175 does not mean the insurance companies will pay that; however, charging that amount for a preop "exam" that lasts approximately 2 minutes is robbery, especially since that doctor DOES NOT EVEN TOUCH YOU (though again, he's supposed to check a few things before allowing his nurse anesthetist to do her job). In 2018, their billing department made some huge mistakes, billing the wrong insurance company for my procedures, which of course were denied - and they attempted to come after me for thousands of dollars. When I refused to pay, they threw me into a collection agency (that is another nightmare and I've yelped that company separately). Yes, the law states that if insurance doesn't pay, the patient is responsible - but I was close to hiring a lawyer because why should a patient pay for the mistakes of their own billing department? Long story short, it is now late 2020 and they are still trying to squeeze everything they can out of me, even though Medicare has made it clear that I am not responsible for any outstanding balances. Since I received yet another robocall this morning telling me I had to pay my outstanding balance, I decided to let y'all know - AVOID USING THE DOCTOR'S IN THIS GROUP. Ask your surgical center what group they contract with. If it's Anesthesiology Consultants of the Palm Beaches, go have your procedure somewhere else. Trust me! I now have to lawyer up before this ends up in collections again. Don't be me.

An intake nurse, another intake nurse and the Doctor. I have had back surgery 2 years ago and he had a copy of my mri. Long story short I think the whole Baptist health network is incompetent. Wasn't treated but was mistreated by Dr. Lewis. He scolded me for coming in for treatment after 5pm even though they close at 8pm. He needs to go back to training and learn some bedside manners because he has none. The office staff were amazing, my issue is only with Dr. Lewis.
