I came here about a year ago for an adjustment (nothing too serious, just some tightness and…read moremoderate upper back pain) when I initially moved down to the Palm Beach Gardens area. Several hours after my first (and final) visit, I truly wish I hadn't. I have always been skeptical of chiros. Chiropractors are not required to hold a medical degree, hence many are not doctors. The one I saw did not seem very experienced, especially after the intense pain and immobility I suffered shortly after my visit. When I arrived, my immediate intuition was, "Dang, this place is run down, I hope this isn't a reflection of how my appointment will go." Additionally, all the chiropractors pictured on the wall in the waiting room were no longer practicing at this location, nor were there any photos of the chiropractor I was about to see. Although the lady that adjusted me was very kind and amicable, she had a great deal of trouble 'releasing the tension' of my upper back. She had to try several different methods, and her final method partially worked (for a very short period of time before getting worse). She eventually had to grab me from behind and pick me up, essentially bobbing me up and down. When I had found a good chiro later on, he explained her method was a very generalized one. When I asked if she needed to take x-rays, she told me that wasn't necessary. Hours later, I was about a 6 out of 10 on pain. When I came in, I was a 3 out of 10, at worst. As the days went on, it became so bad I could barely get out of bed. Finally, I decided to go and give another chiro a try. This time, I really did my research on the specific chiro, and not simply the practice. As I was walking to my car to drive to the new chiro, I had to stop several times, almost falling over due to the immense amount of pain and shockwave feelings going through my back. It was one of the most unbearable pains I have experienced. Several weeks later, I reached out to the owner of the practice to explain my issue, as well as request a refund (I figured this is the very least they could do for causing more of an issue, and I wasn't about to go back and see the same chiro or office that put me in this state). I was never called back as I was told I would be, nor refunded. Long story short, I highly suggest finding another chiro. And more importantly, look at the reviews and listen to word of mouth of those with a medical degree. They generally have a much better understanding of your body and what is going on with it.

There is, however, one issue that has been raised by several individuals: the matter of missed appointments. I have been a patient at Saylor for a very long time and have missed only ONE appointment during that period. On that particular morning, I woke up feeling very ill, making it impossible for me to attend. In fact, it would have been IRRESPONSIBLE for me to show up, as I could have potentially infected my therapist, other therapists, and fellow patients, some of whom are in poor health. I called immediately upon realizing my condition to inform them that I could not make it. They were understanding but informed me that I would need to pay the fee out of pocket. I expressed my dissatisfaction, considering this was the first time I had to cancel, and was told that this was the policy. While I understand the policy, I had never missed an appointment before or since. I insisted on speaking with her supervisor. I explained the situation and emphasized that I should not be charged for the reasons stated above. She ultimately agreed not to charge me but mentioned that the therapist would lose that hour's income. I did find a way to compensate her. If anyone from Saylor reads this review, I hope they will consider implementing a new, more compassionate approach to handling such situations. I would recommend that a reliable patient not be charged after maintaining a consistent appointment schedule for six months, in which case Saylor could ensure the therapist is compensated. This approach would help keep clients satisfied and staff healthy. Additionally, it is preferable for Saylor to avoid having sick patients in the clinic. You would lose more money in that case.

This remained true until my second evaluation, after which my charges increased--without any prior notice or explanation. Weeks later, I received multiple unexpected bills for past appointments on top of the co-pays I had already paid. This lack of transparency was frustrating and avoidable. I would have appreciated being informed of the change in billing before treatment continued, or at minimum receiving accurate charges at the time of each visit so I knew what I was agreeing to pay. Due to the poor communication and unprofessional attitude from the billing department, I ultimately chose to stop treatment.
