They use numbing gel, talk me through everything, and even use small techniques like gentle air to distract me. Like many of you, I relocated to this area and selected Dr. Pugh's practice because of the sign on the bullding that said "Gentle Denistry". How's that for a sophisticated selection process? However, I have been a patient there for a little over five years and have had four crowns installed in that time period. Each of the dentists and their assistants have been absolutely terrific. This month, I had Dr. Tracy Couillard as my primary dentist, and Sofia, as her assistant. They could not have been more caring or more professional. I am a difficult patient (hard for them to get my tooth numb) and they were very understanding (and quick once it was numbed!) It is now two days after the installation of permanent crown and I have no discomfort whatsoever. I just read a couple of negative reviews, and I can tell you that I never experienced anything but pleasant and professional care from this practice, including the extraordinary front desk staff (Carolina, Barbara and others). So it truly is Gentle Dentistry and I would highly recommend Dr. Couillard to any new patient.

In April, Dr. Padilla performed imaging, agreed it needed removal, and told me to obtain a referral per insurance. For nearly six months I submitted every document requested over many faxes, emails, and calls -- getting responses literally felt like pulling teeth. On 9/30, after confirming receipt of the final document, I was told Dr. Padilla no longer accepts Medicare. This is cruel and cost me half a year without treatment for a potentially malignant condition, a serious lapse in timely care. All of the correspondence over months was solely about getting things for insurance and they decide on the last day they are no longer working with my insurance; what are the odds. I have records of my outreach and plan to file complaints with the Florida Board of Dentistry and Department of Health. Patients with urgent health needs deserve better; delays of this magnitude can have serious consequences which I hope is not my reality
