Wait staff (most of them) don't give a hoot/looked like they hated their lives, no smiles and they ignore you. Waitress I had was great but it took someone 10mins before they came to the table or even said anything to me. Ordered a Cappuccino, it was pretty below average for what I was expecting for the amount paid. Beans were sour or maybe slightly burnt? Didn't taste much like a cap. And also the Yoghurt harvest crunch w/strawberries was ok, I mean, it's a hard dish to stuff up something like that. Only problem? Yoghurt was watery, like it had been sitting there too long. #1 - Manager was glaring us down the entire time we were in there. #2 - Blasting rap music with swears is cool in my house, but not in a family restaurant. #3 - Yelling at your kitchen staff in front of customers, or at all is just not cool. Last but not least, watch your bill! They tacked on a ton of extras they said we asked for. They offered them up but failed to mention the exorbitant charges for onions ect. Smoothies were sub par. As much as I want to love Cora's, their level of customer service just reminds me why I can't. I also agree with @Coy W.'s review in that the service is really inconsistent all over the map. I've been to the one at Blue Jays Way in Toronto and it was pretty good. I've been to the one at Markham Road and it was meh... and now I've been to this location and it's fallen totally flat for me. It took our waitress about 10 minutes to finally acknowledge us and just get us a glass of water. She took our orders and had the food out in a decent time. I ordered the Samira Wake Up plate with cheese to share with a friend. The strawberries were not fresh at all and they were starting to rot on the side that was facing down on the plate. I did not eat them. For $1, I only got two small slices of brie... a little lame, but its okay. The other fruits were sweet and ripe. The grapes were crunchy and sweet- just how I like them. I also had the blueberry pancakes with bacon and eggs. I do enjoy the blueberry pancakes here, but that was about it. After waiting way too long for our waitress on numerous occasions, I don't think I'll be returning to this location. read more

Had the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. The presentation of the fruit was nice. The eggs Benedict was ok; the lukewarm Hollandaise really brought down the quality. Did appreciate the generous amount of salmon, and the fresh fruit. The pan-fried potatoes were good. The coffee tasted burnt. The decor is a little strange. It's very colourful...lots of clashing oranges and yellows. Funny pictures of fruits and foods on the wall. Probably suits young kids, but it might feel childish if you're not with a child. read more

I wish I could give this place a zero. Horrible food. Eggs and sausages under cooked, bread was cold with half a ton of butter on it. Yes, they screwed up toast. That's how bad this location is. Cora -- it's like a Disneyland but with waffles, crepes and seasonal fruits surrounding you. You'll be constantly checking out other people's orders, your mouth will not stop watering and you'll find yourself becoming a little less impatient till your food finally arrives -- it's okay, you're not sick. It's just the creativity in the food items here that brings out the animal in us. :) read more

I seem to find myself (in line) at Cora's when company is coming from out of town because that's the "place to be" but quite honestly, I can name at least a handful of other breakfasts spots where the wait-times are shorter and the food is better priced and tastier. read more

Always busy, noisy, and always good food. I am vegetarian I love the Eggs Ben and Dictine with asparagus and swiss cheese which, like most of the breakfasts, comes with half a plate of fruit on the side. You can special order real maple syrup for pancakes. Not the cheapest breakfast but it is a nice treat. All locations I have tried have been equally good. read more

Ate here on a Monday morning and can't complain! The service was friendly and prompt, the food was good and the fruit was fresher than most fruit I've seen in breakfast restaurants over the years. Cora's definitely a decent place for breakfast and fine for multiple visits but overall it's a bit overrated and expensive. Today I had the smoked salmon eggs benedict (they have an alternate "clever" spelling that I forget), a coffee and orange juice and it came to $25 with a regular tip. It's not exactly budget dining. The food is all fine and there's lots of good fresh fruit but every meal I've had here has been decidedly average. Nothing bad to report but nothing all that excellent either. It is a very popular location and so it can be difficult to get a table if you go at peak times. read more

We stopped in for breakfast on our way to Byward Market and it definitely kept us full until our next meal. I loved the strawberry waffle because the strawberries were fresh. The blueberry pancakes were yummy too. The only thing we didn't seem to be a fan of was the sausage, but the rest of Cora's special was delicious. We went here previously and the service was terrible. However, we thought we would give the place another go as it is the closest breakfast joint to where we live. Went here for brunch on October 26, 2014 and had the same server as last time. I had the Joe Construction while my girlfriend had a spinach & cheese omelette. The food was hot, tasty, and came as ordered. Service was a little slow & the server did not come around post-dropping-food-off (I desperately needed water). Other than that no complaints! We will be having brunch here again, hopefully the service will improve :) read more

Great food. Rude server. Cora's is my favourite restaurant because I love breakfast. I've been to Cora's all over Nova Scotia, and to several other Cora's in Ottawa and Toronto and Gatineau and I've never been treated poorly. The server called me "Sir"! I even asked him "did you just call me sir?" and he said "No, I said ma'am". How rude!! Only 2 stars because the food was good as always. But I haven't returned to this location since. It's too bad because if I'd had a better experience, I'd come back often. And it's the closest one to where I live. I even sent an e-mail to that location and they sent me a reply with no excuses, filled with typos. Maybe the server was the manager? Who knows. But bad service = no service from me. read more

I was super impressed with Cora's! The portions are really big, service was pretty quick, and the food was very good (try the sweet cream!). The menu has a lot to choose from and I was happy to see that many of the dishes came piled high with a variety of fruit. I can walk to Cora's from my apt. but parking is a bit of an issue for those needing to drive. read more
