I'm extremely disappointed with my recent experience at Moxies Kenaston…read more First, the food took 30-40 minutes to arrive. When my steak finally came, it was cooked completely wrong. I ordered medium well, but it arrived closer to medium rare. I had no choice but to send it back and wait again. After finishing the meal, I asked for the bill and waited another 10 minutes while watching my server walk around serving and cashing out other tables. I only received the bill after asking again when the manager happened to pass by. When I reviewed the bill, I noticed two unexpected $4 charges. These turned out to be for two sauces the server had offered while taking the order. He simply said there were two sauces available and asked which one I preferred. At no point did he mention they would cost extra. Had I known, I would not have ordered them. I asked to speak to the manager and explained both the slow service and the undisclosed charges. His response was that the restaurant had become busy so service quality had declined. He offered either an $8 refund or a $25 Moxies gift card. And in the meanwhile he already have the 25$ gift card out so I can get myself out ASAP. Throughout the conversation, the attitude felt dismissive and perfunctory. If service declines because it's busy, why doesn't the expected tip percentage decline as well? I chose to take the $8 refund and declined the gift card. Since I paid in cash, I requested the $8 back in cash. The manager insisted that they do not allow cash returns and told me to leave my full name and phone number. He said they would contact me the next day so I could provide my card number for a refund. Because I was in a rush to catch a movie, I agreed and left. About 15 minutes later, the manager called and said their card refund system "might not be working" and that I could come back to pick up the $8 in cash. This was extremely frustrating. Fifteen minutes earlier, I was told cash refunds were not allowed. After I had already left and traveled some distance, I was suddenly told to return and collect the cash. This is not a reasonable resolution. While Moxies may not miss one customer, this kind of dismissive and inconsistent handling of issues reflects very poorly on management and customer service standards. We spent almost $300 and this is the kind of service we get? I will not be returning

Our server greeted us with with an amazingly relaxed and zen energy. She explained menu to us; essentially, it was a 4 course meal (2 starters/apps, one main, and one dessert). Each person got to choose 4 dishes, and it was recommended that each person chose a different dish so that everyone could share and have a taste of everything, so we did exactly that. They gave us an amuse-bouche, which was a tortilla chip with some veggies and herbs on it. We weren't expecting to get it so it was a nice suprise. There was lots of flavour packed into the tiny cracker, so we knew we were in for a ride. For our first course, we ordered the lavash with onion spread and the shaved dear. Both were stellar (and this is my personal favourite course). The lavash with the spread had an interesting array of flavours and although there was a lot happening it worked really well. The shaved deer was likewise just as good. The herbs and peanut really came through. We then ordered the scallops and the quesadilla. The mushroom quesadilla came in a pocket form, with a mushroom filling. The sauce combination worked really well, and the filling was creamy and well-flavoured. The scallops were fine, though a little disappointing. The pickled rhubarb, although amazing, kind of took attention from the scallops themselves, which was just decent. Our mains were the drunk prik chicken and the ravioli. The chicken was really good, and it was reminiscent of an elevated Chinese fried rice dish. The chicken was cooked perfectly and it was deceptively huge. The ravioli was quite nice as well. The filling was pork filling was great and savoury, though I wasn't a big fan of the braised vegetable. Finally, the dessert came. We ordered the tres leches and the coconut sorbet. The sorbet was really refreshing and I liked how every aspect incorporated the coconut (from the ice cream to the whip). The tres leches cake was next level and is probably my favourite thing I had that day. The cake was moist and sweet, and the tortilla ice cream elevated it. They gave us free chocolates to end our meal, which was again a nice surprise to an amazing dinner. I like how their menu incorporates different cuisines (such as Chinese, Mexican, and Filipino) and they do so in an elevated interesting way. Do keep in mind that this place is more of an upscale dining experience so you may find the 4-course portions lacking, in which case you can order the honey buns which I heard great things about. Overall, this dinner place is amazing and I would highly recommend it!

I had the seafood linguine, which came with a garlic toast. It was really good, though at a slightly elevated price. I would say for the north half of the city, this is the best upscale cuisine. The Grove is an British-influenced pub in the Grosvenor/Stafford area, and it has definitely made a name out of themselves with how busy it was when I went with a friend. I initially craved a burger, but the diverse options in the menu threw me for a ride in trying something else that's not a burger. I ended up having a pizza from them instead, in particular the Grove Pizza. The Grove Pizza comes with garlic oil, mozzarella, fig jam, prosciutto, arugula, balsamic reduction, truffle oil, and pecorino. The pizza was excellent and of perfect personal size. I would say however they overloaded a bit too much on the arugula, to the point where I can't see or taste much of anything else on the pizza. The atmosphere was slightly ruined by the fact we had someone behind us having an extremely loud conversation to the point everyone in our section was able to hear it. I definitely recommend this place and would return. Hopefully it'd be a better atmosphere next time I'm here.

The baklava, dense and with ground nuts that took softened the honeyed sweetness, has a beautiful crisp phyllo crust that crackled when my fork pressed in for the first bite. A delightful meal.

I began my meal with a large bowl of avgolemono soup, served with a dinner roll, while my brother had a Greek salad of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and peppers topped with feta cheese and olives dressed with an olive oil and red wine vinaigrette. Both my brother and I ordered Moussaka which included layers of sauteed eggplant, zucchini, and potatoes with both meat sauce and bechamel sauce. Interestingly, my brother and I each asked for rice with our Moussaka. Vegetables included cauliflower, broccoli, beets, and carrots. The third member of our group ordered Gyros, a blend of lamb and beef spiced with herbs, and he ordered rice as well. The restaurant brought my brother a small piece of Baklava on the house since it was his 75th birthday. I ordered cheesecake which was light and fluffy along with a pot of Earl Grey tea. It was very good but I preferred my tuna BLT. The yellow fin tuna was so thick and juicy. I loved eating this fish Omygosh so tender and yummy it was!
