+.5 for service I live very close to Capital Grill, but yet funny enough haven't dined here until this past Burger Week back in September. I came here on a Saturday around 11:30am, and the place wasn't too busy initially, but eventually filled up as noon rolled around. The place is brightly lit up, though not much else in terms of decor. Their burger week burger was the BBC: Bacon, Blue cheese sauce, crispy cauliflower, and truffled mushroom duxelle. Their soup of the day was broccoli with cheese. It was all really good! My only small complaint was a bit too much pepper with the soup, but the burger was solid (and I don't even like cauliflower usually!). I paid for my meal with the Downtown BIZ gift card that I received from a contest I won a few years back. Fortunately they do accept it here! Will definitely return, especially given how it's walking distance for me. read more

Run don't walk to Capital Grill on Roblyn! The Filet Mignon special was outstanding! If you're looking for something lighter try the Grilled NY Steak Salad. The steak was tender, the mushrooms & asparagus were done to perfection. Don't leave without the Sticky Toffee Pudding, it's sublime. My wife and I were staying at the Fort Garry Hotel and wanted to find a nice place to eat within walking distance on this frigid night. We tried The Keg, but their first reservation was at 8:45. The Capital Grill's reviews were old or were relevant for lunch people, but we thought we'd try, and but, were we glad. Everything from the service (especially to the service) to the drinks (special recognition for the Paper Plane) to the entrees ( the gnocchi with the Pickerel and the Rigatoni were excellent!) to the Sticky Toffee Pudding (or if this world) made for a wonderful meal in every aspect. Mike and then Trevor gave us outstanding service, and the food was so good! This was our first visit, and it definitely will not be our last. Yes, we're from Minnesota, but by way of San Francisco, so we know good food. This is the place. They deserve your business, and you won't be sorry! read more

Three of us came as a walk in group on a Saturday night and were accommodated with a nice table by the window. We had previously ordered burgers as takeout (delicious!!) but this was our first experience dining in. We had soup of the day and fish and chips and it was all so tasty. My Mom and I shared an order and they were kind enough to divide it to two plates for us. We had the lemon tart and sticky toffee pudding for dessert and wow, so good. The tart is on a shortbread base and it works so well with the lemon curd. The service was excellent, our server was so sweet. Really can't wait to go back again! read more

The BBQ Chicken & Cheddar Club sandwich was an explosion of flavors! The chicken breast was moist, the thick toasted bread had just enough crunch yet was able to hold the juices from the fresh tomato and not absorb too much of an amazing sauce. The accompanying fries were prepared exactly to my liking. The only thing only I could add to this light dinner was a fine Belgian Ale. Very friendly staff. Outstanding service. Great food, very different atmosphere from the other location on Roblin . Was a bit disappointed with the atmosphere as it was kind of cafeteriaish. Lay out is a bit odd. The open kitchen will have you going back to work smelling like food for the rest of the day. The menu is different from the other location as well but food is top notch.
