We are thrilled with our new screen porch and patio built by CORE Outdoors. It is a dream come true. The process started in March and was completed in September on time, on budget and according to plan. Work days were sunny and mostly dry, so there were no weather delays. At the start, Daren provided great info and listened carefully to our requests. Todd guided us through the planning process and helped us select materials. Next Kim, the project manager kept all the steps coordinated by email and responded to our many questions. On site, Ben the crew chief ensured that the porch was beautifully crafted. We have an old house with non-standard dimensions, which were all accommodated. The work crews stayed on site throughout with no gaps and worked with intensity. We have a large yard, but it is full of trees, bushes and flower pots. The work crew managed to squeeze in all their tools and materials to get things done. Materials are of great quality, ordered exactly to the need, with little waste and an eye to ecology. The great subcontractors included the electricians, a handyman who took care of pre-construction items like the hose bib, and the roofer/gutter team. They all showed up on time and completed their part quickly. Finally, the patio was put together by Colin and Luis in two days. Laura carefully coordinated all the online billing. CORE was upfront about extra costs including a required county survey, power upgrade for the heaters, and a patio foundation. CORE has a distinctive porch style and an efficient operating method. Just had my screened in porch and deck built by Core Outdoor and they did a fantastic job!! I was between 3 different companies and they really stood out in their detail in design and style. In addition, they are a seasoned company with a designer, project manager, administrator, construction manager, etc., so I felt confident that there was an entire team ensuring my project went smoothly. They were super communicative throughout the entire process and the project was completed very quickly. Billing was done online and very easy to do. Core handled our deck removal and screen porch addition this spring and they were awesome every step of the way. Our project manager was fantastic- super responsive, helpful, answered and responded to any and every concern or question immediately. The finished product is amazing- they just did such a great job. In our initial call, they promised us that once the crew starts, they will be there each day (obviously weather pending) until it's done- no random stopping for a week. And boy was that true. Core Outdoor Living was worth the wait! They worked efficiently, got the job done quickly, and the results were better than I could have imagined. Core left no detail to chance including from before we signed the contract to the end of the project. Our yard was measured, including slight inclines and variations in ground level. Every detail of how things would take place was explained, concerns answered, etc. Again, NOTHING was left to chance. Core went over the contract thoroughly before we signed and told us exactly what each item cost. We were given a likely time frame as to a start date which was accurate. The crew was experienced and talented in their work. They arrived on time every day. They were a team in every sense. They answered any questions and were friendly and respectful of us and our property. Not a second was wasted. The crew worked together smoothly, each knowing his role on the team. If there was a question, they called the office and got immediate results. During the building process, I worked with Kim. She helped with ideas, when purchases (fans, lights...) had to be made (by me), furniture layouts... She was the middle person who was always available to me. We've done various home remodeling projects over the years, but I'm going to say that this was our best experience ever. As we planned for a screened porch project, we were referred to Core Outdoor Living by friends who had a positive experience. We met with multiple contractors but were most comfortable moving forward with Core Outdoor. They were responsive during the design phase in Nov/Dec 2020, providing multiple options and revisions as needed. They took care of things like permits, shared regular updates, and gave us plenty of information to inform our expectations. The work was performed across two weeks in March 2021--about a month sooner than originally planned. The screened porch extends off of the second level of our house, along with a small grill deck. While we did not include stairs leading to the ground level, the structure was built in a way to accommodate that in the future should we decide to move forward with that addition. I waited to leave a review until months later, so I wouldn't be limited to my initial take. Basically, we are still thrilled with the finished work--the quality, the appearance, the functionality, etc. It has been such a great space for our family (eating meals, hanging out, etc.). I bet we've used it every day we've been in town since it was completed, even when it has rained. I would not hesitate to recommend Core Outdoor Living to others looking to add a screened porch or a deck. read more

We contacted Core Outdoor for our new deck based on the ratings on Consumers' Checkbook and are so glad we did. We got on their list in late May 2020; soon thereafter we learned that they were not taking any more clients for the year. We initially were hoping to build a screen porch using the footprint of an existing deck. The project manager was up-front about the costs and complexities of doing so, based on the slope of our yard and other factors, so we opted for Plan B: replacing the existing deck, which was built in the mid-1980s, was poorly designed and required too much maintenance (replacing rotting wood, painting/staining, etc.). The team at Core was responsive to all our questions and kept in touch about every change related to timing, availability of materials, etc. (We chose the Flex option, which lowered the price a bit in exchange for flexibiity in the start date, depending on the construction crew's availability -- all we knew for sure was that it would be completed by December 2020, which was fine with us.) As we got deeper into the planning and construction, they had excellent ideas that made their initial plan even better. The crew started work in late October and finished less than a week later (including time for county inspections). And when the project was over, they did a great job of cleaning up. In short: Core has our highest recommendation. Our deck is fabulous. read more
