There was a girl with purple hair in her 20's that caused us to leave the restaurant. She worked in the first position of the line and we could tell the moment we showed up that she was uninterested in the job she is paid to do. We had our Italian cousins in town where English is the 2nd language and she was short and rude. Then it came to me and she, again was short and when I asked a question she said "can't you see it right there?" At that point I had it and said I don't want the food anymore but didn't engage further ... she responded "whatever"! My wife asked to see the manager down toward the register and she kept on "chirping". I looked at her, put my finger over my mouth and said this doesn't concern you. This was when she raised her voice and said "I'll say whatever I want you can just leave! I get paid anyway." My response: "Exactly your problem" We took her advice and now the four of us walked out. People around saw this interaction and had weird looks on their face. The woman is awful and should NEVER work with customers. Entitled and pompous. There is NO WAY that this is her first interaction like this and I blame management. The place needs to elevate their standards for who they hire and the environment they expect their customers to experience. She needs to go! read more

Have to say that I have been a fan of Core Life in the past but this store fell short of the mark. I'll start with the good... The food was fresh and tasty and that's what's the most important... but sadly they fell short in every other way. We were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday and the store was not busy. There was a lot of staff working but, despite that, the counter people seemed indifferent and, in a couple of cases, in a bit glazed over. They were mostly invested in a group conversation that they were having. We received the food and proceeded to find that there were no forks available. I asked for two forks and the staff member seemed a little annoyed with me... and was kind of snippy about me inadvertently standing in front of the cupboard where they were stored. The restaurant dining area was, to say the least disheveled. Napkins on the floor, cups left on tables and the majority of the tables not wiped down. Understandable during prime times but not with better than half the staff just hanging out and only a few other customers in the store. Finally, while I realize that every business is trying to do more with less, the portions were truly skimpy. I'd be surprised if there was more than an ounce of chicken on the salad. Much less than I typically see at other restaurants. Indifferent staff, a slovenly dining area, under supplied and miniscule portions. Sorry to say that this resty has jumped the shark. read more

I got a regular Build Your Own bowl; I got the Tuna Poke with a Napa cabbage and Romaine lettuce base and many toppings (kimchi, cucumber, sprouts, tomatos, spicy broccoli, scallions, pickled cabbage). Honestly, the menu was a bit overwhelming at first but if you're used to Naan-Tastic, Subway, or Rebel Pi like restaurants then it's the same. You start with your base and build from there. A loved one wanted a meal from Corelife today and I was entertaining the idea of ordering something for myself after she raved about it. Unfortunately I counted about 4 or 5 flies flying around the food prep area in the restaurant and decided against ordering. The manager was friendly, but as someone who worked in dietary in college for a major food distributor, I'm well versed in food safety compliance and what I observed was unfortunately stomach turning and almost certainly in violation of health standards. I doubt that the manager simply failed to see the flies. They were extremely active near the food. I like what corelife stands for, but I know for a fact that I would have never observed flies in a Chipotle. My loved one also observed the flies. I hope corelife remedies the situation soon. Again, great customer service but the flies ruined my appetite. read more

Core life used to be my favorite splurge... and I'm struggling to remember what I loved about them in the past. First: I went into the Henrietta location at 6:45 on a Monday night. It wasn't busy. The employees huffed a "what do you want" to me. I ordered the spicy Thai chicken rice noodle bowl. One of the ladies asked the other what time it was. Lots of eye rolls and sighing. I tip very generously when the service is good. No tip. My chicken was on the grill for all of 30 seconds so it was still cold. Not warm. Left the counter with a smile and filled my drink. The drink area was gross. Dining room tables were gross. Ate the noodle bowl and was frustrated at half the noodles being under cooked and the other half over cooked. Overall- things need to be cleaned, staff was miserable, food was not "CORElife" quality. I'll try the other locations but this one was terribly disappointing. read more

If I was the owner of this place, I would get involved. Like put on an apron involved. Like how can you sit back and watch your business fail involved? Seating was basically empty when we got there about 1:45 pm today. The line was almost to the door. 25 mins later the line had barely moved and SEVERAL people had given up and walked across the parking lot for a more timely option. It looked like there was 3 people working there at the time. Not enough? More effort? I don't know, sounds like a problem for someone who runs the place. Your customers won't wait that long for a chipotle style of food prep. We went next door, (same type of food prep) ordered, ate left and walked past where we would have just gotten to the front of the line. I remember we liked this place before. Things have changed. Unfortunately. Although busy enough, for me the charm has left. I ordered the same Chicken Rice Noodle Soup that I loved 3 years ago but the quality has dropped. The problem is Core no longer steam cooks the food for my $8-9 dollar soup. As a result the soup was just warm, certainly not hot. It took me 15 minutes to receive the soup so obviated not fast food. This location just changed their Mac and cheese from gluten free to regular, with no notice or anything. CoreLife's site still shows the mac and cheese as gluten free. If you go to order online, it will tell you but if you order in person unfortunately you are not given this luxury. I have celiac and just found out after eating half a serving and starting to question whether this was gluten free or not, then called store to confirm. I love this place. Broth bowls, grain bowls, warm rice bowls, and salads -- including a decent amount of variety in their menu or you can build your own. They're currently doing the "CoreLife challenge" which is a 21 day event. They also have an app if you want to order before you get here. They're very transparent about ingredients so if you have a specific diet this should be a good place to check out. I'm not crazy about the drink selection... healthier than the typical soda and lemonades you see elsewhere but the flavors just don't do it for me. The employees are great & service is prompt. Good for groups or dining alone. One more thing -- it's not cheap. However, look for the deals and you'll find them. I've received two coupons in the mail for free bowls in the last few months. $5 off the first time you order using the CoreLife app. This year they did a deal to buy a $250 gift card for $100 before the CoreLife challenge opened up in early January & they've had additional deals each day of the challenge. read more

I've eaten at this restaurant at all locations more times than I can count and they're always consistent! The worst thing I've ever experienced is a wait time and that's because they're popular. I ordered takeout at this specific location and pulled up outside of the restaurant because my toddler was sleeping in the back of my car. I called to see if my order was ready and told them my situation. The kind lady who answered the phone offered to run my food out to my car without hesitation. This place is healthy eating, they have a wide variety to choose from. I could not decide when viewing the menu but I went with the BBQ warm rice bowl as well as a Buffalo chicken taco. Both were made right in front of me, on the spot. I really enjoyed my selection and the service was quick and friendly. They had sections inside closed off due to COVID and had limited capacity. When I first entered Core Life I had a major crush. When I left I had a crush no more, but we still parted as friends. You see, when I saw the menu with Green Bowls, Rice Bowls, Broth Bowls, and healthy Plates, I fell in love. There was so much variety of healthy food and the pictures looked so tempting! It looked like other bowl places I have been to, but on steroids! Alas, our dishes were not quite as delectable as the pictures depicted. I ordered the Spicy Ginger Steak & Rice Noodle Broth Bowl. The large bowl of beef broth was chock full of ingredients including grass fed steak, kale, almonds, broccoli, and carrots. Sounded good but I found the steak to be a bit chewy and the broth to be bland. 13 year old ordered the Ranch Flank Bowl. This busy bowl had tons of ingredients including steak, roasted vegetables, falafel, picked red onions, and beef bone broth. It was a good bowl. The falafel was excellent. But honestly, the bowl was not as good as some other "bowl" places we have been to such as "Bolay". Perhaps some of the other options or going custom would be better. It's too bad the food did not live up to expectations. The place is large and clean, with lots of seating configurations. The staff was super friendly and was more than happy to give suggestions. I love that I can make my own "creation" at CoreLife. Each time I've gone the food has been fresh. Never have I encountered dingy, wilted greens (as I have in some other restaurants...). Walked in to the Core Life in Brighton and was hit with a smell that is associated with the carpet and floors not being cleaned. The floor was heavily soiled and the place smelled like a dirty mop until I got closer to the food counter. The work area or food station was messy, food was sprinkled all over. I had to wait until the server prepared two pick up order. There were other workers but I couldn't tell who was working and who was not working. I ordered the Barbeque chicken bowl and was only given five cubes of chicken. When I inquired I was told that its only supposed to be three ounces. As we walked to find a table to sit at all of the tables were dirty and none appeared to have been wiped down at all. The menu consists of salads ("green bowls"), soups ("broth bowls"), and rice/pasta ("grain bowls") dishes that are made to order and very customizable. On this visit I had a Steak, Bacon, & Blue cheese Green bowl. The salad was good with very fresh ingredients. The "spicy" steak had good flavor, but could have been diced better (some strips were still all connected... someone needs to sharpen their knife). I skipped the free side of bread, because it usually isn't anything special like a fresh baked baguette. On this particular visit they were running a Buy One Get One special on the Steak, Bacon, and Blue bowl, so I got lunch for tomorrow for free! I am a fan of their beet lemonade. This was our first visit to CoreLife and it went like this...So, this restaurant is located in a very crowded parking lot with limited spaces...The room is massive with an open floor plan for ease of movement for those in need of a little more room...Now, onto the rest of the story...We were 2nd in line and the order ahead of us was slow enough, but when they finished with that order they went onto a phone in order of four meals, and we stood in line for around 15 minutes before we approached the counter...So, we finally made our way to the counter to order our meals and the fact we had not eaten at this place before the staff offered very little if any help to explain what the options were if we had indeed seemed unfamiliar with their ordering process...That being said we made our way through the line to the register and paid for our meals...They offered a wide variety of refreshing teas and similar juices along with soda options...The food was fresh and well prepared, and the portions were plentiful...You can order from their menu or build your own, which I did...The damage for two salads, one small slice of naan bread and a two-tablespoon humus cup, two drinks, tax and tip $45.00+...Anyway, all in all it was an okay experience, and I would recommend giving them a try. read more

I'm SO GLAD this spot opened up right in front of my usual gym. I won't go into too many details given I've reviewed and experienced the Greece location, but I'd like to stay that they still hold true to their code of serving fresh, all-natural ingredients along with friendly and effective customer service. The environment is pretty much the same, except the setup seems like a mirror image of the Webster CLE. After a long a sweaty workout I opted for the Chicken and Rice Noodle Broth Bowl and Tropical Tea. As expected, the veggies were crunchy and fresh, the noodles well cooked, and the grilled chicken was very flavorful! The bone broth was robust, but lacked flavor to augment the rest of the dish. Understandable, since they don't add salt and artificial flavors. Once I threw in a couple tablespoons of Sriracha, BOOM, it was perfect for me! I scarfed everything down, broth and all. The Tropical Tea was a refreshing way to re-hydrate and dilute the spice on my palette. I'm not too much into super-sweet teas, but I noticed that they offered sugar and substitutes to add. Perhaps honey or agave nectar can be offered as a natural sweetener option? I totally forgot to ask at the time. Anyways, keep up the great work, CLE! read more

I love that salad bowl places are trendy and it's always interesting to see the power green bowl options, international versions, and the establishment's home salad to compare across places. We ordered the Fire Tuna Bowl and the new featured Korean Pork Bowl (substituted w/ tofu b/c they ran outta pork). Overall, great place with decent prices. For those who are not familiar with this kind of concept, it's basically a fancier and healthier version of Chipotle, where you go down the line and order your choices of protein, greens, toppings etc with some fixed choices. Lines move relatively quickly and portions are larger if you order the salads b/c salads just take up more space. Our tuna bowl was about 12-13$ and the Korean pork bowl was about 10-11$. Your overall cost to visit here is in price range of 8-13$ depending on your choice of protein. Korean Pork Bowl: they copied the bibimbap kind of style. They actually make that sunny side up fresh on the grill for you if you don't mind the extra 2-3 mins wait. It comes with different versions of kimchis and pickles, none of them super tangy/spicy but definitely enough to get a pickle flavor to your dish. Tofu was the fried firm type- good substitute but I would have to order the pork the next time to test out the marination/cooking style to get a full handle on this dish. My take on this, I appreciate it not being too Americanized and too "sauce'y" and it actually did a decent job keeping the flavors close to Korean cuisine. If they wanted to make this better, I recommend some steamed bright verdant green spinach to balance the kind of bland colors on this dish. Tastes pretty good, but colors wise, they could add more diversity in a sea of yellows, browns, reds, and whites. comes with some fiery sauce on the side to add to your dish for more kick. Tuna Fire bowl- a smaller bowl than the other dishes but definitely very filling. You get avocado, some pickled beansprouts stuff and tuna wasn't skimpy which makes this dish exciting. Comes with healthy whole grain rice with a side of spicy sauce to make this dish more exciting. Highly recommend for those who want a "fancy" salad or "healthy bougie" food without splurging on tip and sit down restaurants that one may see on Park/East Avenue. It comes with 2 slices of bread too to munch on before you start your meal read more

Between this and the Webster location, I've been here quite a bit. I've tried many of the different menu items, subbing whatever meat was on it for tofu. There is literally not a single thing on the menu that I can have without modifying it. I don't eat meat, so there's 90% of it, and I also can't eat onions, or anything similar to onions, like chives or scallions, so I pretty much have to modify everything. The Cobb salad is what I would typically get, and it worked well for me. I got it with tofu rather than chicken, and no bacon. Well, last time (at the Webster location) they told me it was $13.75. They said there was an upcharge to switch to tofu. I said that had never happened before and asked if it was a new policy, and the manager told me that it's always been that way. Well, I've been vegetarian every time I've eaten here, and I can assure you it hasn't. They took the upcharge off for me, but I don't feel like playing guess how much this is going to cost every time I order food. So, this time I tried the Sriracha Ginger Tofu and Grains bowl without the sriracha and ginger. While I see how this is comical, it isn't my fault that the only item on the menu that actually has tofu in it originally also has sriracha and ginger. I don't like hot stuff, and I think ginger is gross, so I'd rather not ruin my $10 salad with it simply because it's on the menu in the tofu bowl. So, I ordered it, and said I'd like no sriracha and no ginger, and she basically gave me attitude about it. She was not actually mean, but acted like I was weird and putting her out by changing it. So I got my bowl, added tomatoes, and it was the normal price when I checked out. As it happens, this was the worst bowl I've ever had here. It just had no flavor unless I had a bite of tofu, and there were only like 6 pieces of tofu in the bowl. My point being, I really don't want to get that again. As a place that has salads as like 50% of their menu, I'm not sure why they want to punish vegetarians and upcharge them for tofu rather than cater to them. There are several other places in town where tofu is even cheaper, and at least the same price, or you get free guacamole on the vegetarian version, etc. There is no benefit to vegetarians here, and from looking at their menu, I'm not seeing why swapping tofu for chicken is more expensive either. What I would actually like to be able to do here is walk in, order what I want, not get attitude or be made to feel like I'm weird, and not get a surprise charge of $14 for a salad. The Cobb salad with tofu rather than chicken really was fine with me, but not for $14. I wish their menu was easier to modify, or there was a more basic bowl that you could start from. The build your own would work for me, except tofu is a premium, cheese is a premium, avocado is a premium, etc. That is why I was ordering the Cobb salad and modifying it. It really seems like it shouldn't be this hard. read more

I still love CoreLife Eatery. From the first time I stepped foot in the Webster location to my semi-regular stops at the Greece location. They offer some of the healthiest options around, and they have the best beet lemonade I've ever tasted. I can't say for certainty that the prices have gone up, but I do feel at times the bill is a bit pricey. But that doesn't stop me! I like the outdoor seating set up at this location as it seems more inviting than the other locations. But I do agree that parking can be a hassle if you're coming during peak business hours. As in all the other locations, I've found the staff to be kind, professional, and informative. read more
