I took my Mom to CoreLife for lunch last Friday. It took us some time to decide what to order and during the lunch hour we were definitely at a slower speed that the restaurant staff. They were helpful and patient. I ordered a chicken broth bowl that was really delicious. I am so used to salt and seasoning being a focal point in restaurant food. Here the fresh greens and grilled chicken were the focus and they were perfectly paired with noodles in a warm, delicious broth. I ordered a coconut water fruit punch that was really outstanding. No complaints about my meal. It was delicious and I felt fueled and fantastic for the rest of the day. My Mom ordered a kale and steak salad with a cashew dressing. The salad was really good and fresh. A change of dressing made it even better. A staff member suggested a white balsamic dressing that had a touch of sweetness that worked very well with the bitterness of the kale. My Mom enjoyed the salad. Overall we were really pleased with the food. It's fresh, delicious and different. I could eat that way every day. Three things I did not like about the restaurant: where the greens were stored, dirty silverware and the dirty dish deposit area. The greens were open to the air and as soon as I saw where they were located I wondered if it was refrigerated. Not a good set up - I hope that will be changed at some point. The silverware was not as clean as it could have been. I had to take out several spoons before one looked clean and still I felt I should wipe it with a napkin just to be sure it was clean. The dirty dish "depository" was disgusting. You clean off your own dishes and put them on a shelf above trash and recycling bins. . Well, if that wasn't bad enough, the stacks of dishes were not removed throughout the lunch hour. The whole area seemed sticky and gross. That area should be cleared of dishes every 10 minutes and wiped down. That's what you see on your way out. I want to remember how good the food was and not the dirty dishes. I will return to have another broth bowl. Looking forward to it. Since there are plans to open more restaurants in the near future I hope issued with cleanliness are resolved soon. read more

I love CoreLife!! A quick, healthy meal!! I had the cauliflower soup once, a greens bowl on another occasion, and also a broth bowl. The broth bowls are very bland and need a ton of salt. The greens bowl gave me an allergic reaction from something unknown but they were SUPER helpful with trying to help me figure out what it could have been! (Mystery still remains unsolved) the cauliflower soup was amazing and so filling. Try this place out!! Try it all!! read more

Disappointed in this place. Lots of rules and regulations and up charges, like they are doing you a favor by taking your money and letting you eat there. Only 2 kinds of lettuce in a large salad..... Oh I was hoping to get alittle of 4 kinds... Nope not gonna happen. Requested Dressing on the side so the young girl filled the plastic dressing cup halfway. When asked if I could get more dressing? She quickly snapped...yeah you can get another one for .45. Really!? I said why don't you just fill that one up, why would you waste another cup?? (Let alone charge me .45!?) Reply from young girl... "In case something happens to it". In a tone like what she was saying made any kind of sense.....Uuuumm oookaay if something happens to it, it's going to happen regardless of the cup being 1/2 filled vs 3/4 filled. They measure out the vegetables like they are gold in TINY cups. If you want more then 4 veggies (which you going to want because you get such a SMALL amount) you have to guess what??? Pay more!! Yup you got it. Get to the register there is a loaf of bread there. So I ask... Do I get bread? Oh yes the girl at register says, it's free, and gives me one tiny 1/2 slice of bead. So I say oh just one half. No response from girl at register besides asking me for 11 dollars for the salad. 11 dollars for a salad and the sas that came with it. No thank you. All kinds of people standing around just watching others deny variety, micro measure vegetables and be rude to customers. I won't be back. The pictures on the wall look nothing like amount of veggies you are actually given. Overpriced I can deal with but Tiny portions and snotty nope. read more

If you like having your wallet physically abused by a mediocre bowl of soup, Core Life is an absolute must try.

Had to come back and edit my review. I returned to Core last week and holy moly has the service gone downhill! They must have done a round of hiring to match the traffic they're getting. The new employees don't speak to or look at you. They scowl the entire time they are making your order, which they so so lackadaisically. Parts of my salad fell on the counter, on the floor, and even into the containers of other ingredients and the girl making it didn't even try to fix it. She also ignored what the employee before her had told her about what to put on it and just passed it down--again, without making eye contact, speaking to me, or smiling. The food here is good and I understand why the prices are as high as they are, but it isn't worth it to deal with the miserable employees. read more

Wanted this to be so much more and unfortunately it's not. Just a salad bar with some broth available. 2 salads and 2 drinks came out to almost $25 dollars. The actual food taste was basic. The pros: great people working there, fantastic decor and their juices taste amazing. read more

Not bad not great. Lots of kale floating around in this souped up salad bar. A bit skimpy on the rest of the ingredients though. You can eat vegetarian/ vegan but I got concerned when they threw my dinner in this steam machine that I'm sure had meat drippings in it vaporizing my dinner. So those on a healthy or spiritual path are limited to cold salads like from a salad bar, not necessarily a criticism. Vegetarian broth was heavy on the salt and if you want any spice your choice is the grade C Sciracha squeeze bottle found on every dirty Chinese restaurant table in America. Wegmans across the street is looking better all the time now. And what could be more deplorable than the classic fast food self bus plan. Hey guys, we're not in college anymore. A previous review accurately stated the need for some flavor and someone mentioned a slice of bread which was only visible as a pile of several pieces near the cash register but not offered to anyone. Added comment. Despite the very prominent display of "bone broth",as a vegan I thought it would be safe as vegetarian broth is also promoted. But it was not until after they threw my dinner in a single serve steam unit did I realize that a previous meat dish dripping into that steam made a hot vegetarian meal impossible. So I leave a three star but for vegetarians this is a simple salad bar. read more

My boyfriend and I always come here and love it. But today they gave us literally no food. We got 2 tiny scoops of rice. I don't know if they got new employees or something but they didn't know where anything was. He asked ME which one was feta. Like if you work here you should know where things are.... but honestly I ate my food in 2 bites and am STILLLLL hungry. I could seriously eat here every day. This place is AMAZING and conveniently located next to my gym! Their salads are BOMB and their broth bowls are addicting! I've always experienced great service from the moment I walk in until I leave. It may be overwhelming on your first visit because there are so many options, but there is usually a greeter willing to help you and answer any questions. The Chicken & Rice noodle broth bowl is my favorite! You can customize any order and there are TONS of healthy options to choose from. Mostly, the meals are fresh and tasty. . There's occasional differences in portion size . One diner's grain and greens bowl was almost 1.5 size of another's. Serving staff is pretty patient with newbies. Extras seem a bit pricey. Fresh juices are nice. Sometimes extra sweet but there are other options with no sugar. Mint lemonade is lovely. read more

I love CL, but they seem to be thinning the portions when it comes to the proteins on the salad. They generally put a skimpy scoop of chicken, now skimpy has become sparse. Don't lose your quality or Panera becomes my Plan A vs. Plan B. read more

Let's just say that CoreLife Eatery is a fine place to get a meal. It's clean, it's trendy, it moves along a line much like a Qdoba, Salad Works, or any other trendy food establishment that also has a queue. I appreciate that they have fresh products and HUGE portion sizes. Iv'e only been there twice, but I've had extras for another meal both sizes. I also really loved all of their drink options. They offer some absolutely amazing flavors the likes of which you've never seen outside of a Juice Master commercial. All that being said, the food is generic. Steak is great, steak with A-1 or even salt and pepper is better. I could cook a chicken out on a spit like they did in the cowboy days and I'm sure it would taste like chicken; but there's also a reason why seasoning was invented in the first place. The food is healthy, huge, and boring. Their dressings don't enhance the flavor of the vegetables and certainly not the meat. Luckily they offer salt and pepper and sriracha to balance things out. read more

Classic bad restaurant move, telling customers they're getting something like pad thai, then serving them a salad with a few cold noodles and chicken on top to try to fool them. First of all a disclaimer, I am a meat and potatoes kind of guy who decided to try this place as a change of pace. Frankly, I was not impressed. For me to switch to a vegetarian diet would require the food to be tasty, I really didn't think this hit the mark. I ordered the spicy ginger steak broth bowl. The broth wasn't bad, and it was a pretty good sized portion. That being said I really didn't enjoy the meal, and I don't think I would enjoy any of the meals served here. I will say though that I eat for enjoyment, not to simply nourish my body, I want food that tastes good. The food served here will nourish the body way better than the food I typically eat, but I could never see myself craving anything here. Also, I tried the coconut, tropical punch, to me it was bland, and tasteless. I don't think the issue is with CoreLife, if you enjoy a vegetarian diet, I am sure you will enjoy it here. I was so glad to see that this restaurant was opening in Webster. Healthy, fresh, whole food options at a reasonable price aren't easy to find yet in Rochester restaurants and this place is a welcome addition to the area. I was especially pleased to be able to choose vegan options in a setting where my non-vegan friends have plenty of options too. I chose the sriracha ginger tofu and ancient grains bowl and it was excellent. The food is tasty and beautiful with tons of options for add ins. They also have broth bowls and greens bowls with the same option to choose your ingredients. Thus us definitely worth the trip (many trips actually). read more

Finally a fast restaurant where I can eat healthy and not feel gross afterwards. Loved all their choices. I hate kale so they let me substitute spinach, and the meal was still tasty. They don't offer sodas, so I tried all sorts of interesting lemonade choices, loved most of them. Definitely going again. read more

This is becoming one of my favorite places to go each week. The food is simple, delicious, fresh and very nourishing. It's great to be able to get bone broth soup and I think the kale chicken Caesar might be my favorite dish so far. You know you'll get a great meal with good-quality food there for a decent price. I also absolutely love the cold brew coffee. The staff are all well trained and very friendly. Looking forward to having more of these open up around Rochester. read more

Overall the experience was alright. I found the food to be bland and was mostly greens. The seating was decent, the drinks were all quite strange but the lemonade was not half bad. I do not recommend this to people who don't like vegetables. read more
