We consider ourselves regular customers. We enjoy the menu. This last trip, things were different. Over half of the tables were visibly dirty. Gross. The garbage was full. The floors were littered and sticky in spots. There were no forks and the utensil station was all askew. I'm a business owner and want this place to succeed. There were at least 5 workers. When there was no one in line, someone should have been on the floor tidying up. If the dining room is dirty, what does the kitchen look like? read more

It was healthy food, it came out quickly, though the bone broth was on the salty side for me and when added to the ingredients was lukewarm, not like a soup which I was expecting. Two times for lunch in one week! I had the steak house bowl and the spicy ahi tuna bowl. I didn't do any customization, even though that is available. For the steak bowl i know for the next time I would for go the feta cheese. The spicy ahi tuna bowl, I had the spicy sauce on the side and the bowl was spicy enough. The attendant told me if I didn't want spicy at all I could do a custom bowl. The service is as usual very friendly. The food always is fresh and healthy. read more

Stopped here on my lunch break last week. It was just what I needed for the day. I did build your own bowl with mescul spinach spicy chicken blue cheese tomatoes scallions and cucumber basil dressing. It was the perfect size for a quick lunch. Pleasantly surprised by this place! I know there was lots of hype when it first opened and I am glad I finally tried it. I would describe it as a healthier version of Chipotle with more options other than Mexican. A lot of healthy options too! I got a regular sized tofu bowl and was full. I have been here a lot since they reopened since COVID, so I wanted to update my review. I've gotten delivery many times, and I've also done curbside pickup. I love that option! I don't even need to get out of my car! And I love ordering online. It's much easier to customize your order. I finally found something here that I love! It's the BBQ Ranch Chicken Warm Rice Bowl, and I get tofu rather than the chicken. It's healthy for take out, and I actually really enjoy eating it! Their naan tacos are also pretty good. The naan is a little hard. I get the Buffalo Chicken one, and sub tofu. My husband still won't eat here. As Ron Swanson would say, he won't eat what his food eats, lol. My mom is also vegetarian and has also eaten here with me. She's had the naan tacos and mac and cheese, and has liked both. Another excellent CoreLife location! I love this spot and am willing to pay $10 for a delicious salad I don't have to prepare myself. My go to order is the mediterranean bowl with no cucumbers. The cucumber basil dressing is so delicious and is consistent across all locations. We order from this Webster spot when we're shopping in the area and need something healthy. I almost always utilize the simplistic online ordering mechanism, and grab my food quickly on the way home. Staff here is always attentive and kind. A nice bonus? You can get free bowls and deals through the CoreLife rewards program. I have yet to branch out and try their broth bowls, but look forward to doing so soon. We visited this cafeteria styled service a month ago. It wasn't busy at all and asked the servers to explain a bit and they were enthusiastic in doing so. BUT we asked for chicken and they gave us pieces of bland chicken and beef. The dressing was lack luster and pretty much all veggies are fresh and non seasoned. It's a healthy alternative fast food establishment but the meal was basically a salad, legumes and rice if desired, something you could make at home! Since food is very plain and the place needed some cleaning we won't be going back, unfortunately! Update July 20, 2017 This experience was much better than previous. I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar salad. It was really delicious and was topped with two parmesan crisps! Nice touch!! I've tried CoreLife Eatery twice in Webster, two of my co-workers are in love with the lunches there. The first time I had a mixed salad bowl with a bunch of different veggies and added steak. While the salad and veggies were good I found the steak too be dry and not that appealing to eat. On my second visit I got there early (having been told their lines get pretty long at lunch time. I arrived at approximately 11:45ish and was hoping to try one of their broth bowls but they were already out of the type I was hoping to try- very disappointing....so I settled for a cup of soup and small side salad instead, both were OK but nothing I'd probably spend money on again. read more

I had heard only rave reviews about CoreLife Eatery, so since I had the opportunity to go, I jumped on it. It took me a minute to understand how the menu works - you're basically choosing a decadent salad - and I didn't want to look like a rookie but I may have anyway. The 2 main kinds of salad are grain-based (think quinoa) and greens-based. They have several pre-designed menu items from each side, as well as the option to create your own. *Beware the "premium" add on items!* Adds like chicken and gorgonzola can empty your wallet before you know it. The expense of designing my own meal was pretty much the only reason I didn't go 5-star on this one. Everything else was outstanding. The quality of ingredients, the helpfulness of staff, the atmosphere (sooo hip), even the soft drink selection were fab. I felt trendy and healthy and full. I feel cheated! Recently (12/30/22) bought $50 in gift cards. The promotional sign in the store advertised a $10 gift certificate with purchase of $50 gift card thru 12/31/22. Processed my credit card, then gave me my $50 purchase. Asking for my $10 gift certificate employee k.b. Said sorry we "are out of them". He could not (would not) give a gift card, gift certificate, rain check, credit, food or any measure of making up for "out of them". Seems like a poor way to do business. I have enjoyed the food, service and attitude of this place in the past, but this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope to be able to amend this post if/when a representative for the company addresses the complaint I have made with the local store and the corporate headquarters. The online commentary has suggested this "incident" is possibly due to a solitary lazy employee, poor training, inept management or "diversion of promotions" (a.k.a. stealing by employees). There are too many locally owned businesses working hard to earn our dollars to tolerate this poor practice and performance. Buyer beware! AMENDMENT 1/3/23 Core Life business manager (corporate entity, I believe) promptly replied to and addressed my complaint. They have stated that they will address the local store. Today I went into Corelife to get a salad. The staff was very unprofessional horsing around behind the counter then when my salad arrived at the register I had to make sure they added the double chicken I had requested.. they forgot. To make matters worse I was surprised to fine a worm in my salad and the response from the manager was "it's that time of year. I've worked in a lot of high end restaurants and this happens all the time." He offered me a refund, in which he refunded me for the wrong item. Upon walking in, we hit a line that lasted about 10 minutes. I ordered the spicy ginger steak & rice noodle broth bowl and my companion created her own bowl. The individual ingredients were fresh and the serving size was good. However, we both found the broth lacking in flavor and seasoning. Like I really wanted to have a bottle of soy sauce in my purse but even that may not have helped. A pleasant surprise was the basil cucumber lemonade! Without that, I'd give this place 2 stars. I came back specifically to try the Tuna Poke Fire Bowl. It was AMAZING. It's that kind of food that you're eating and wondering when the next time you will be able to eat it again will be. It was spicy, the tuna was fresh, and the rice was warm. I really enjoyed all the flavors of the miso dressing, fire sauce, and veggies mixed together. It was kind of like a sushi bowl... but different. Really healthy at around 550 calories and very filling! I am dying to try their new curry soup but I am going to have a hard time straying from this meal. Overall, I think its a great place to eat. Not everything is as super healthy as they portray it to be. I mean the tastiest options have rice noodles. Not the worst, not the best for ya. I have also had the beef ginger broth bowl and would highly recommend that as well, with sriracha! That has rice noodles and is also really filling. This is a healthier choice than other fast casual restaurants, but if you are here to really watch your calories, make sure you check the calorie counts first! Staff was rude and unhelpful when I had an issue. The payment system was not letting me get past the tip screen. I was told to push a button on the keypad, which I did, and then it overcharged me a $13 tip I didn't want!! when I asked why, I was basically told "too bad" it can't be fixed. When I pushed back on that BS he got pissy and unhelpful. when I asked who I could contact that could fix it, he said..."I don't know, someone much higher than me." wouldn't give me a name or number. So rude. Fist of all, even ASKING for a 25% tip on a job that is paying $15 an hour is absurd. Tipping was designed for those making a server wage to bridge the gap. If I CHOOSE to tip outside of that that's of my own goodwill for those that DESERVE it, which at this point they did not. Finally I walked away to eat my food since he clearly wasn't going to help, when he stomped over and slapped $13 cash down on the table announcing to the whole restaurant that he had to "take it from their tip jar" (trying to make me look like the jerk). I could eat CoreLife every single day. Not a joke or an exaggeration. I'm obsessed with creating my own Tuna Poke bowl. I am a veggie and a pickled veggie lover, so I load up a Tuna Poke bowl with all the toppings. My husband gets the Tuna Poke Fire bowl and loves it as well. The fact that they have things like Sriracha sprouts, pickled onions, pickled cabbage, and dressings like Miso & Carrot Chili keep me coming back every week. We have also on colder days, created our own broth bowls. I really do love the broth bowls but I always add either some dressing or Sriracha too it because it is kind of bland of a broth. I think it's meant to be that way and I'm sure others love it, I just prefer a lot more spice and flavor in the broth. However, the noodles and all the add ons are great. I load it up with all the veggies and steak and have such a hearty healthy meal. I love that this place is sort of like a Moe's or Subway where you go down the line and see all the fresh ingredients that you can add to your meal. It's healthy, it tastes great, and there are so many options that you can't get bored. I've ordered lots of times online and my meal is always ready when I get there as well. I have no complaints. The food was good, but three of us stood in line watching the employees filling online orders for 25 minutes before we had our orders taken. The restaurant was fairly empty and garbage bins were full. It wasn't until a couple in front of us left and we made remarks about at least alternating online orders with customers waiting in line that that seemed to happen. There was also a new person behind the counter holding things up to ask questions. Understandable, but they have diagrams/pictures of the items leaning up against the glass to find the requested ingredients. It would have been faster to sit at a table, place our online orders and pick them up then it was to stand in line. I'm sorry, but CUSTOMERS IN LINE ARE ATTENDED TO FIRST! My sick friend placed an order for a vegetarian salad and asked me to pick it up for her. Initially I wasn't aware that it was a vegetarian salad but upon my arrival I was told that it would be at least 10 minutes for the chicken to be done. I accepted that. I sat down and the stringy haired chick behind the counter told me that the order wouldn't be done until at least 11:15am because that was the time that was selected online at checkout. CoreLife is my go-to after acupuncture since that's usually an excuse for me to go to Webster. Plus, I feel great after acupuncture and CoreLife is the best healthy dinner I could imagine. I'll often get a cup of beef broth to go. It has a subtle kick to it and is dense with flavor so it's surprisingly filling. My favorite dish to order, and it's hard for me to sway from, is the Thai chicken and rice noodles with the cashew dressing. It's a huge bowl and sometimes I'll eat half and save half for later. The dressing pairs so well with the noodles. The chicken is well cooked with a little char and I love the crunch of the broccoli. They have countless other healthy options from grain bowls, to broth soups, salads and more. They have a variety of juices as well. I like to mix the beet juice with the lemonade. I love that everything is made fresh and you feel full and satisfied after eating there. read more

Oh, the Webster CoreLife, the one that started it in Rochester. Words can't express how much I love this location. It may be the second CoreLife overall, but it's the first one to steal my heart. My intro to CoreLife started at the Yelp Elite event last spring, where we got to learn about the business and try some amazing food for ourselves. This event was successful because it got me to return to the business a few times, which every event should do. I want to try just about everything on the menu and I've started the process. My advice: if you find it intriguing, it probably is, so you should just go for it. Must-tries: the tomato and basil broth bowl, the broccoli cheddar broth bowl, and the Mediterranean bowl. The soups are seriously the best versions of those soups that you will ever try. In particular, the broccoli cheddar is thickened with cauliflower, a lovely surprise. Cauliflower is amazing because in this form, you'd never know it was in the soup. If you can't decide on just one option, you can put together a bowl that includes everything you want. The customization option is great because if you're a vegetarian, you can create your own version of a meat bowl with tofu instead, for example. Here at Webster, the line is fast and efficient. I've never had a bad experience and my food is always prepared as I like it. Finally, if you're indecisive about going for the lemonades, don't be. They are worth it every time, fresh pressed and full of different flavors. Even if Webster isn't the most convenient location for me, I'm happy to go to this CoreLife over others any day. The entire experience is one that shows dedication to the cause and is tasty to boot. Actually 3.5 stars for me.... for just a couple of reasons. The concept is good - fast casual cafeteria style, get a prefab dish or make your own. Portion sizes are good. I usually get a broth bowl. The poke bowl is very good. The staff are uniformly friendly and helpful. The reason for 3 stars are probably idiotic to most, but... They steam the food before ladling in the broth. About half the time, for some reason, the rice noodles remain hard and aren't adequately cooked to that consistency. I have asked to steam again and they will, but I get embarrassed when they are so busy at times. The bone broth can be fantastic or kind of bland. They obviously make it from scratch. I know I know, I can't compare their broth to SEA or Thai Me Up, but the broth makes it breaks the dish for me. This sites broth is, however, consistently better than that at the Henrietta branch. Finally, a cardinal sin imo is having empty sriracha bottles..... FWIW, there is a lot of options to choose from to add in your dish. It's hard to understand how an order can be incorrect if it's on a piece of paper or a screen - whatever they use there, it's not working out for them. CoreLife has been a great addition to Webster. I find myself picking up dinner when I'm cooking for one - it's just too easy, delicious, and healthy not to! My go-to favorites are the chicken and broth noodle bowl with corn, jalapeños, and scallions. Perfect in the summer and winter. My other favorite is a create your own salad - everything is always fresh and tasty. I recently tried the grilled chicken tortilla soup and it's now in the running for a favorite (although I have to order it at least 10 more times for it to be considered for number 1). Walking in can be VERY overwhelming. The menu is divided into cold salads as their greens and grains. The broths are basically soups and noodles. And then they also have normal soups. I had a bone broth with steak. It was delicious! It had steak, kale, carrots, rice noodles, Sriracha, broccoli and scallions. It was made within seconds. I'm still not sure how they made it so fast. My first time at Corelife was on Sunday with friends. I guess we couldn't wait a few days for the Henrietta opening! I was very happy with the experience and the food! I love the concept... if every restaurant had a fully customizable and yet easy to understand menu, I would be thrilled. I got the Thai chicken noodle bowl which is made with rice noodles, raw broccoli, shredded cabbage, cucumber, almonds, cilantro and a Thai vinaigrette dressing. It was delicious! I think I would try something different next time because I got a little sick of the broccoli by the end (I prefer mine cooked). I didn't try the fancy lemonade because I thought the price was a bit steep but my friends got several different kinds and were impressed so maybe next time! I have been a die hard CoreLife regular since they opened both in Webster and Henrietta. The food as of the last 90 days or so has been hit or miss. The chicken bone broth has been super oily at Webster in particular the last couple of times I have gotten the chicken noodle bowl. Also, some servers are more skimpy than others with the meat. For the price of the meals, there should be at least a breast worth of chicken on the meal and nice hardy pieces, not little bits of meat. Both locations cleanliness has deteriorated since they have been opened. At Webster the fabric booths have become FILTHY! Although I feel happy eating healthy, I feel the fabric booths are unsanitary and either eat outside with the nice weather or take the food to go. Sticky floors also by the juice bar have been noted a couple times at both locations. Sometimes the restaurants are just not kept up - tables not wiped, food under booths, etc. I wish they were just as clean and consistent as they were when they opened - I have started to explore other options to vary my dining experience. read more
