The main issue I have is the extremely inflexible policy - if you are more than five minutes late, they can give your spot to someone else. The place itself is clean and modern. I appreciate the use of the blue light bulbs (?) so that it is not in my eyes. Instructors were nice to newbies and corrected my form a lot which I am thankful. Also appreciate the fact they let me go at my own pace and take breaks when I needed it. I don't like instructors that don't individualize workouts. Love the different levels! I am new to all this! I want to keep coming here even though I work full time and I have a toddler. They offer a lot of classes at different times, they do get booked up but you just need to book ahead. I came here after being a member at Club Pilates for a year because I was sick of having to stare directly into their fluorescent lights, and was uninspired with their old fashioned reformer machines, and 70s music. I was craving a hipper, cooler vibe. The minute I walked into Coreology with its clean white, minimalist interiors, current , up-to-date music, and more modern look and feel I thought I had found my new workout home. Plus teachers were all really friendly, attentive and even made sure to remember our names and check in on me after class (which never happened at CP). I did not however know Coreology was so much more hard core than the traditional Pilates class. I assumed that after having mastered traditional reformer Pilates at Club Pilates that I would have no problem transitioning to any Coreology Pilates class. I was so so wrong. The signature sculpt , "Xformer all level," & straps, are all an intense mix of lunges, endless planks, mountain climbers and squats. I'm normally confident in all the above but when you pair those exercises with having to push, kick and or balance on a weighted platform which is also tied to resistance pulleys, it becomes a whole other level of challenge. Also, "Tread and shred" left me in tears with me not being a runner. I was thankful the class was dark so I could slyly wipe away my tears and pretend they were sweat. I'm not sure if it's because I had a c section and my abs were cut leaving me with a weak core, and/or if it's because I'm a middle aged woman but I can NOT keep up with even level 1 classes here. (Im not even overweight and am used to working out regularly!!!) I need level zero because the amount of resistance they suggest for level 1 makes it impossible for me to balance on a wobbly platform for pikes and all the things... As soon as my 15 prepaid classes are over, I am humbly crawling back to Club Pilates (or some other Pilates studio) and joining the other senior citizens there. Apparently that's where I belong. Cuz I canNOT hang here. I would give this place 5 stars if they had a realistic level for beginners. Their level 1 is too hard for me even after having finished 15 classes here and even though I've done (other) Pilates for a year. lol! Also, some of their time slots and classes are ALWAYS booked up and impossible to get in on. I wish they had more traditional reformer straps classes and candlelight stretches for instance. read more

I've been a client at coreology for over 7 years. In the past I would start new gyms or workout regimens and always end up falling off for some reason or another. I've done yoga and Pilates in the past as well as high intensity and cardio focused workouts but I could never find a gym or regimen that I loved or that made me keep coming back consistently until I found coreology. I will admit that the workouts are intense but thankfully their knowledgeable and friendly instructors teach each class to levels from beginner to advanced. They will show you how to modify if you're a beginner or have any injuries. For example, I have lower back issues so I've learned how to modify my workouts accordingly. Wow you guys. Okay, COVID happened blah blah blah. We've heard that 1,000 times. Let's move on. During the lockdown, I was running 5 miles every day. Then I hurt my back during Covid. I developed sciatica. I'm one of those people that can't be home, just because. I needed to sign up for something even though I was in therapy. I've taken TABATA, HIIT, and Pilates. Wow. First off, Kirsty-- woah. You are a beast. The best TABATA instructor ever. Then Sarah A. The absolute best 6am Pilates instructor. HARD, HARD, HARD. Coreology is amazing! Their trainers are super friendly and unlike other small studios they have a front desk person at all times whom can answer any questions you have. The pricing at Coreology is pretty decent considering all that they have to offer. Other pilates studios in the area are over $200 but Coreology is still in my opinion well priced. Coreology has amazing workout classes, and so far I've tried their 30/30, Xformer pilates, barre and Core cycle. Their workouts are well structured and it's the best 45 minutes of your life. My favorite trainers so far: Julie, Lauren and Sarah. They are totally bad ass and kick your butt for days. The facility is super well kept, chic, very clean, and well organized. The timing of the classes are on point and the trainers are always available to answer questions. Other great things about the studio: Great cancellation policy of cancelling 6 hours prior. Email reminders of confirmation and fast waitlist updates via email. They have an array of classes which I have yet to try and they also have another location in Manhattan Beach. read more

Coreology is amazing!! It's one of the most challenging workouts I've ever experienced. Within the first 5 minutes, I was thinking to myself, what on earth did I get myself into! I went into it thinking I was in fairly good shape and severly underestimated the difficulty of this class. This in not your run of the mill pilates reformer class. It is INTENSE. Your muscles shake, they become fatigued and just when you think you can't do anymore it switches to a new exercise. It's expensive, but I've worked muscles I never knew I had; when it's complete, I feel like I've just completed the best workout! I love it! read more

My friend invited me to a Coreology spin class, and I must really like her because I said yes! I attended my first spin class here! First class is $15 so what did I have to lose? I was intimidated since Ive never taken a spin class before, but the instructor, Sarah (I think), was so fun! The music was great and the instruction was easy to follow for newbie like me. I just did was could and stayed in my lane, as they say. The gym is nice and the equipment is well kept. Clean bathrooms, good music and big fans. What else does a girl need in a gym. They offer lots of classes too. I was so impressed I found a similar gym in Long Beach. If I lived closer to PV or Manhattan Beach, this would be my gym for sure. Highly recommended! xo read more

I love Coreology! I try to come almost everyday, but my body cannot keep up. All the instructors are really helpful and encouraging. They will correct you to make sure you're doing the movements correctly. I started taking classes here when I was in high school and now that I'm back from college I've been going again. I love that they offer a variety of classes and that pilates is taught at a multitude of levels. I personally don't like spin so I only do Barre and Megaformer. If you're someone's debating whether to try megaformer or stick to reformer, you need to try megaformer. I think the workouts are so much more rewarding and well worth it. You won't regret it. read more
