This place rocks. First off, the facilities are excellent, roomie lockers and showers and since it is new in town, there aren't all those other yogis trying to squeeze into the studio while dripping sweat on you...ew! (Hello Bikram!) The instructors seem to be really present with you are doing the routine, not just "phoning it in." They also make adjustments which I LOVE. I just wonder if they will be able to stay open-the prices are a bit on the high side for a long term committment. To be fair, Sunstone Yoga used to be in this same area and closed down and they were much lower priced. At any rate, it is definitely worth checking out and right now they are running a free one week special so go for it. read more

I admit, at first I didn't want to commit to CPY since it's a corporation and not a local yoga studio, but I pretty much fell head over heels! CPY rocks for SO many reasons - motivated, friendly instructors that know you and encourage you (like I seriously would hang out with all of them), awesome schedule - plentiful classes throughout mornings, afternoons, and evenings, awesome yoga gear/swag up front that's for sale, super clean locker rooms with everything a girl could need (I mean everything), convenient water fill station, discount on your bday, student discount, etc etc etc, I could easily keep going! I must say my favorite part of CPY is the yoga sculpt class. I had been a member there for almost 7 mos before I actually tried it, and it has seriously changed my life. It's an hour long heated power yoga class with free weights, cardio sessions, squat sessions, and lots of planking. You get all the benefits of relaxing yoga, but also a high intensity aerobic class. I have never felt so strong and fit in my body and I can't get enough! That being said, ALL the classes at CPY are awesome, like I've been there for over a year and never been to a bad one! Hot Power Fusion to me is a little more relaxing and meditative, C2 works more on poses, inversions, etc., and sculpt is a combination of it all plus weights. It makes me feel so at home when I walk in and am greeted by the friendly instructors who always remember me and are so great. Truly feel lucky to be a part of this little yoga community. I just moved to Austin and used to occasionally do hot yoga. I found this studio through a friend and utilized their free week. Teachers appear hit or miss. I went to two yoga scultping classes - wow! So crazy I couldn't move the following day I was sore all over! They apparently have a rule where you cant enter a class at after 5 minutes. I told the instructor my friend was driving from Cedar park and they said no problem. She gets there at 12:07 and they wont let her in just to try the class - even though the instructor told me it was fine. That rule is bogus because I went to another class and some girl came in at 15 after. Unfortunately their prices are outrageous. The floor is bubbling up from the heat and they dont appear to wash their straps or wipe down their foam blocks/weights between classes (ew!) Happy to have used the free week, but 190/month for yoga is excessive. read more

The C2 power vinyasa taught here is tops. Keeley is a truly outstanding instructor as well with a perfect combination of physicality and spirituality, the latter of which I prefer very little of more often than not, although hers is not intrusive upon my zen pump and flow but rather complements it. Great facility. Arrive a bit early for sufficient space. NOTE: This is not a simple yoga class, you must know basic yoga, and be fit, not necessarily ripped with a 6-pack and elastic joints, as yoga bodies come in all shapes and sizes, but you must have moderate to high cardiovascular health and a mid-level knowledge of yoga to keep up. Go to the hatha flow to get started and learn the breathing and posture basics, work through the "eFit30" youtube videos at home until you feel comfortable, then work your way into the C1, then when prepared mentally and physically, make the leap into C2. Nothing is more upsetting to me when practicing yoga than to be surrounded by beginners in an advanced class who waste everyone's time asking questions and ruin everyone's flow through their obvious and audible suffering. A karate white belt cannot enter a black belt tournament and expect to come out in one piece. Yoga is no different, it is an art and an ongoing, building practice, and one cannot paint still-life portraits if they don't know how to draw an oval. Namaste. read more

As an extreme beginner to yoga I felt completely at home at CPY! Their C1 class is great for beginners. My friend and I went together as part of their "free week" for new students and we were both hooked after the first session. As beginners we were nervous about not knowing what we were doing, but there is a great energy and a real focus on doing what feels best for you in the moment - even if it's not what the rest of the class is doing. With a ton of options for class times, clean studios and bathrooms, and a staff this kind and helpful, I can't recommend this studio enough! read more

This review is for the candlelight yoga class. I attended for the first time yesterday and it was a great evening wind-down. The class is heated like Bikram but not as intense, it's held in the dark with some electric candles near the front of the room, and with music in the background. Jillian (sp?) did a great job leading the class. I think it's an all level class but it helps if you're familiar with basic yoga poses. Nice clean facility & cozy rooms for smaller class sizes. read more

I have been to many yoga studios here in Austin and in other cities in the US... CPY was my favorite studio in San Diego and when I saw that we have two of them here my heart smiled. The instructors are awesome, They offer classes at various times throughout the day, and best of all- its hot! I'm no yogi pro and I don't own anything lululemon and I have found myself very comfortable here. This is a workout, it is hard, it is good for you, and everyone is welcome. I really like this place. I like the location a lot, it's very modern and the triangle is a cute hub to come to. Parking is generally ok, but occasionally you may have to park in the back garage, so factor an extra 10 minutes to your commute. Occasionally, but not always, there are a few weekend classes that can get super packed, so you want to come early. Fairly recently they also added a whole bunch of candlelight night classes which are super relaxing. There's loads of different instructors, so you can always try different ones out. In my experience though, they're all super nice and knowledgeable. It has been a very relaxing and hassle-free experience everytime I go. read more

This is a great place to practice hot yoga. The teachers are friendly. Super clean. There's usually plenty of parking available. I love that they stick to their schedule- they start and end right on time. All the teachers are considerate to their class' needs (hands on - or not - adjustments, flexibility to do what you need for your practice if it's not always what the instructor says, etc). So I've been to a good number of gyms/studios over the years, and have a pretty good idea of what makes a good one. I also am in a profession that depends a great deal on offering a positive client experience, so I can appreciate anyone who does a good job. The folks at CorePower yoga offer a great studio, and are very accommodating from what I can see, to their members. I attending class as a visitor, but was treated very well. Nice studio, helpful staff, and Mary was a very informed, attentive, instructor. Did I mention they have a pretty cool locker room as well? Nice amenity. I think the location was very convenient as well, even if I arrived (I thought) twenty minutes early, but was at the wrong place. I'd highly reccommend this to a beginner or someone advanced. And they offer a wide array of classes, no matter your level. My only regret is that I had to leave early for work, and was unable to complete, what was a very good class. Good folks. read more

I am relatively new to yoga. I started with the free week and tried the C1 class. After a couple of classes, I started doing C2 a couple of times a week. The studio and locker room are extremely clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The late class schedule (7:30 p.m.) and frequent weekend classes work well for me. I've been able to take a few classes at CPY through ClassPass, and have enjoyed the C2 Sculpt class in particular. My review would be five stars, but I was registered to take a class on Monday at 6 am...and no one showed to open the studio or teach the class. There was a group of about 15 of us waiting. I understand this happens time to time, but I expected some follow-up from CPY apologizing for the mishap. Mediocre customer service. read more

First let me start off by saying, I am NOT a yogi. I cannot stay still, I cannot meditate, and I have horrible balance. CorePower changed my perspective on yoga completely. I started off with the C2 class to familiarize myself with yoga poses. I quickly moved on to the Yoga Sculpt class and I loved it! The fast-pace and upbeat music motivates me through the entire hour. The studio is heated so you will leave drenched in sweat, therefore a towel is ESSENTIAL. Be sure to bring your own water, towel, and mat (rentals are available but pricey). The teachers are very helpful and allow you to modify the workout to best suit you. It is a no-judge zone between the teacher and students as well as between the students themselves. I enjoy going with friends, as we challenge each other to push ourselves harder (and we grab a bite to eat afterwards!) I even brought my boyfriend, who is usually playing basketball not doing yoga, and he loved it! The first week is free, which is a great way to invite new friends and try out the class without the commitment. You also don't sign up ahead of time so you can just drop by right before the start of class. You will definitely be sore the next day but it feels great! read more

This place is a wonderful addition to the Austin yoga scene. They had a wide array of classes for all skill sets. I was originally drawn to the yoga sculpt classes (a very intense workout I might add), but have recently gravitated towards the C2 series. I have nothing but positives to say about this establishment. I started here with a groupon (which always makes you a little nervous that youre going to get the stink eye, or sub-par service cuz youre a cheap-ass). Core power yoga (Austin/Triangle) instantly made all these "paranoid/anti-social" fears of mine, disappear the second I walked in, on my first day. The staff is super chill, and down to earth. Everyone is ultra sweaty, and gross (with no makeup BTW), which puts you at ease right away. Not to mention the fact that they are SO helpful, and knowledgeable. They talk to each person, individually after class...just to get to know you better, or get your feedback. The place itself is super clean, and brings a feeling of togetherness, instead of an "I don't fit in here" type of vibe. I absolutely love this place!
