Least empathetic staff ever. I was 4 minutes late to my class due to traffic and I'm not even upset that they didn't let me in, but that after I was visually upset after telling me I wasn't let in, the two staff members immediately started talking and laughing about some other matter. Also, nowhere in ClassPass it says that I wouldn't be able to come in? It seemed to be just a one-off judgement call because they didn't provide me with very much of an explanation. I'm a full time student who really wasted a 15 dollar Uber ride and and dollar class but these women really could not care less :-)) read more

I am a huge fan of CorePower been to several studious and I enjoy them all. I think CorePower as a brand is consistent and this studio is no different than any other studio I have been to. Instructors are encouraging and knowledgable; studios are clean and well equipped; and locker rooms are always well maintained. Sure it's expensive, but to me it's worth every $ and I say that as a black tag member. I haven't always been one but I have gotten to the point where I realize the emotional benefit it has on my life. I get CorePower isn't for everyone, but I really enjoy it. While I have a hard time with the heat, it really helps my practice and helps me better my possess. Truly enjoy this studio and will try some of the other ones in Seattle soon. read more

'Meh, I've experienced better' is right. Been practicing since 2002, mostly hot hatha and ashtanga yoga, but have done ashtanga in non-heated studios as well. Have been to multiple studios in more than 1 country (boutique, member only, large franchises, etc). The pros listed by others are on point: location, free parking, cleanliness, washrooms/change room size, in-studio shop, friendly staff, practice rooms are nice with the padded flooring, & schedule of classes. The cons are more related to the practice and instructors itself. It's my first trial week so have only done 2 so far, with two different instructors in the CP2 class. They were underwhelming instructors. I am sure super nice people, but their instructions are not good. It really is hard to find great teachers, I get that but I have been to a different studio downtown and have had multiple different teachers and they were all fantastic. It's too bad I no longer live close to this other studio so it's not convenient for me to continue going there. Also, I was surprised at how little I sweat for such hot rooms? As someone already said, I think it's because I was sweating from the heat of the room vs from the actual workout. Anyway, I'm going to check out maybe one or two, more different instructors at this location and decide. Also, will try another hot yoga studio in Ballard to see how it compares, fingers crossed I find a good one close to home! read more

I wish I loved this studio. There are several positives here, don't get me wrong, but the classes themselves just weren't the right click for me. I can see how some people love it though. I used a one-week trial pass, but only had the opportunity to try 3 classes with 3 different instructors (C1 and 2 C2's). I am not typically a person who prefers hot/warm yoga, so the C2 classes weren't ideal, as I was dripping with sweat in the beginning. But also, I don't think the workout was very challenging- other than balancing on a sweaty mat for an hour. I prefer to sweat more from the workout than the heat or humidity (just my personal preference). The C1 class was a little more exciting - better playlist and better flow sequence, but again, not quite challenging enough. I didn't sweat at all without the added heat and humidity. Complete 180 from the C2 class. I haven't practiced yoga in about 5 years but when I did practice, I attended the very popular 75 min classes, high intensity, 5 minute planks, 40 chaturangas, push-ups, etc. These instructors always had a wait list! I was excited to attend every class. I didn't find that same excitement at CorePower. I needed a little more push. I always get a second wind about 50 minutes in so I always prefer a longer class too. On the positive side of things, all of the staff are very nice. They have varying level classes so it's very beginner friendly. The locker rooms were really nice. All the rooms were clean. Plenty of street parking available and I believe garage parking too. The main negative for me is that each class seems very scripted. There isn't much originality. For example, all the instructors warn, "in 3 breaths we will move on to..." Also, I think the pricing is a tad high (if there was a class I loved then I could justify the price; I didn't see it during my time there). I wish there was more originality between instructors. It has too much of a franchise feel to it, and I get how some people appreciate the routine of things. Perhaps a C1.5 or a different class would have been better for me. C'est la vie. Nonetheless, I think this is a great choice for a beginner to learn yoga! I wish I would have connected to one of the classes that I tried. Bummer. The studio, staff, etc all deserve 5 stars. The classes I tried, though, were average in my opinion. I wish they would spice things up a bit! read more

I had heard great things about CorePower from a couple of people, so I finally went to try a Hot Power Fusion class at the Ballard location. I'm in no way experienced with yoga and I literally feel like I'm going to die when it's hotter than 85 degrees. So why was I going to exercise in a 100 degree room for an hour?! Well, it is 2017 and I felt like being adventurous! For those of you that might be hesitant about the heat, I survived! I did step out a couple of times, but it felt really relaxing. The instructor had a nice soothing tone and they make an effort to call you by name when encouraging you. The front desk staff were really friendly and gave helpful info since it was my first visit. The space is really clean and modern too and there's a free parking garage available. Definitely recommend! read more

CorePower for me is kind of like an ex-boyfriend I can't help but flirt with once in a while. I check back with it as it often raises my self esteem, and makes me feel good, give my body a good challenge and stretch. But as ex-boyfriends go, it can be sometimes a little vanilla and a little unsatisfying. Makes you feel good: Check The stretching and non-judgement attitude of the classes/instructors is really nice- if you don't hit all the poses you don't feel like people are staring or laughing at you. The instructors are friendly, positive and give gentle guidance if you choose. Makes you sweat in the past: Check. I used to see them in San Diego as a semi-regular thing while getting back into the swing of things (fitness, ahem). I have gone intermittently in Seattle, while rehabbing my shoulder and during stressful times in my life. Likes to see you in yoga pants: Check. CorePower, (mainly yoga in general for me) like some ex-boyfriends, is predictable, a little tame and vanilla. You know what the instructor will say, you know what will happen next. Each class is very, very similar. There's comfort in that, but sometimes it can be a little dull. I have strengthened my abs and increased my core power by lifting heavy weights and widely varying my routine, not by any kind of crunches on my back..so there's that. Despite me calling it an EX boyfriend, and not a boyfriend, I still am a fan and circle back to both level 1 and 2 CP classes when I can fit it in my work out schedule for the week. Is it my main bae? No, but a dime side piece. read more

I've been visiting CorePower locations across the U.S. for about 6 or so years. When I moved to Seattle I started going to the Queen Anne location, but recently moved to Ballard. The Ballard location is awesome. Large, clean rooms, the locker room is spacious and always clean and they offer a great schedule of classes. My absolute favorite instructor in Seattle is Alison Mara. I've taken her Yoga Sculpt, CoreCardio Circuit as well as C2 class. I am not a morning person and wake up early to take her Friday morning sculpt class (that's saying a lot)! With each class I take, I am incredibly challenged and surprised at the new sequences Alison puts together for the different classes. She provides a very challenging, but satisfying experience no matter the type of class. I would highly recommend Alison's classes for anyone who wants to get a great workout in! The only semi-con is to be very careful parking in the garage connected to the building. Corepower has a set of spaces, but if you happen to park in one of the other company's spots, they will definitely write you a ticket! I recommend street parking or walking if you can :) read more

I'm always hesitant to write a mediocre review, but this was just my experience. Hopefully, it's not indicative of what it's like at the studio every time (and based on the gleaming reviews, it doesn't seem like that's the case). I'm the type of person who doesn't think they're getting a proper workout unless it involves running, or being drenched in sweat (not from being in a hot room, but from exertion). I decided to incorporate yoga into my workout regimen upon the recommendation of my trainer. I always thought people did yoga to meditate, stretch, and develop their core - all in a peaceful setting. This was not my experience at CorePower. The person at the front desk was very nice, and signing up for my session was a breeze. The studio itself is well-appointed, very clean, and has great energy. For the price, I find it absolutely crazy that towel service isn't complimentary. Even my local gym, which is literally less than half the price per month offers free towel service. That kinda left a sour taste in my mouth, but okay, bringing a towel isn't the worst thing. Again, I just think for the premium price, getting a free towel to use while you're using the facility should be expected. I enter the class, and set up in the back of the room. There are a few others on their backs, eyes closed...I follow suit. I can't relax, though, because the music is way too loud. Not only is it loud, but the music was more like music I'd go running to, and definitely not the type to help me clear my mind of anything. It was intrusive and it actually made me feel anxious. This was an intro to heated yoga class. The moves were basic enough, but the instructor did not hold any of the poses at all. You couldn't even get into the stretch, which was so annoying. The whole thing felt very rushed. I'm not sure if this is contingent on the instructor, or if this is what yoga is. Based on this experience, it doesn't make me excited to go back. read more

I helped this place open one day volunteering a few hours to open boxes and bring product into the studio. I went to their opening community class and I attended one sculpt class. I told friends about CP and 2 got jobs for them. Why a 4? We were told that they have scripted set CP routines at the time. I am not a scripted person. Everything you would want in a yoga studio, from the setting, the facilities, the team and the practice is all outstanding! Lucky that they are in the basement of my work building, they exceed your expectations in every corner. Classes are definitely tough and you get a lot out of a 60 minute class (most hot yoga is 90 minutes), the changing rooms are very clean and have tasteful/modern amenities and they have all the top shelf touches (New high tech yoga specific floors, great temp controls, special water machine).... Team is super friendly and they also have nice yoga attire (yes lulu lemon certified) Do check it out! read more

So, I'm not a fan of the big box yoga studios, but there's something to be said about CorePower Yoga. Pros: - Cute retail store area - Clean - Big studios - A schedule that works for me with class times that make sense - Great locker/changing area - Friendly front desk, instructors - They have parking! Cons: - Classes don't go "deep" enough for my liking - I don't have a favorite instructor yet The cons are short, but what really differentiates it from other smaller yoga studios. I like this location. The studios are spacious and the teachers seem slightly more advance (better sequences, advanced variations of poses offered, variety of poses, rather than just repeating the sequence over and over again) then some of the other studios that I visited during my one month unlimited. Parking is awesome because there's a whole structure. This studio also has a cycling + sculpt class, which is pretty cool to see. I didn't get a chance to try that class, but I would love to in the future! As a general review of all CPY that I have gone to (in San Diego and in Seattle): I find most of the CPY teachers competent to the very basic level. Some are more advance than others and have better sequences or can teach a more difficult variation of a pose. However, I can't say this is the norm. It's very cookie cutter at most CPY locations that I have gone to. Sequencing, poses, and teachings often lack innovation. In these classes, I find myself sweating because of the heat (I took level 2 classes), not because of the difficulty of the pose. In my one month unlimited with CPY, I maintained my practice, rather than advanced my practice. Very seldom were my poses adjusted. At the same time, because CPY is a large company, they have many classes/class types to offer for people with busy schedules. read more

I had never done Yoga before, thought it was fun, cool or a good workout; to be fair I was pre-judging Yoga. But this place allows you to have your first week free and one of my friends could not stop raving about it! So I thought, what the heck, go to a class and see what its all about. What I found is that I LOVE Core Power Yoga! This place is amazing. The instructors are great, the space is open, everyone is extremely respectful and it was fun to come workout. It was a time to take an hour for myself and be able to have some me-time while getting a great workout! I was able to come for two months and came about 4-6 times a week depending on my schedule. They have pretty flexible classes and if you are a member at one location, you can go to any location you want. The only downside (as others have stated in the past), the membership is steep and you have to decide if it is worth paying the unlimited amount per month or not. You will get hooked, so be prepared to cross the financial bridge at some point! read more

I love this place. I love everything about it. I grew up with Pro Club - so I am sort of (sadly) a snob when it comes to gyms and locker rooms. But this place is clean, beautiful, serene and so calming. I love that they have a shoe cubby so you can slip off your shoes and walk around barefoot. And every teacher there is incredibly generous with their knowledge, super welcoming and so kind and encouraging. I was a first time yoga person - overstressed, over worked and generally overwhelmed with too much stuff in my life. Coming to yoga has been eye opening. I thought I would stick out like a sore thumb with all my gangly arms and non-hip yoga gear - but the whole vibe of this place is peaceful, come as you are, do what you can within your limit and learn. For first timers - I can't possibly recommend another place wholeheartedly. And for the pros - I would recommend the yoga sculpt (dude. that class totally kicked my ass) and they also offer a level 2 as well as a hot power fusion. Plus, they have their entire schedule (day by day) online for all those savvy smartphone yogis. read more

Love, loved Core Power Yoga! This was where I got my first taste of hot yoga and did their free first week with a friend. I've been going to another studio since, but if I could spare the extra per month (my new studio is cheaper, sigh ;) ) I would be here. The facility is clean, modern and well-lit. They have lockers, provide you with hair ties and mouthwash! They have towel and mat rentals as well. The staff and instructors have always been really friendly and upbeat. I've only been practicing since October, but from what I can tell the instruction I've gotten from Core Power was really good. Like I said before, if I could spare a decent amount more, on top of the already expensive price of hot yoga per month I'd be here. You're still in my heart, Core Power Yoga of Ballard. read more

I didn't have a pleasant experience at all. My first visit, from the moment I walked in the manager Katherine F. was condescending and behaved as if she didn't want me to be a customer at the studio. It seemed like she thought corepower yoga wasn't meant for me. I have been practicing yoga for about 15 years never had this experience at a yoga studio. Later I found out that she is relatively new to yoga herself and only a couple of years at best of managerial experience so not sure why she behaved like that. The instructor was Katherine B. It was a strange class with the instructor doing poorly thought out flows, poor explanations if you are brand new to yoga so you could end up hurting yourself if not careful and she definitely could show a bit more respect to the customer and avoid unnecessary comments. I started my power yoga journey 2 years ago and it's changed my life! The Ballard location is awesome and also has a spin studio. This was their first studio in Seattle and now they have 5 and 1 on the east side! I love all the instructors at core power! Shout outs to Alex, Kai, Allison, and Lindsay! I started out in C1 classes and moved into C2 shortly after. It took awhile for me to adjust to the heat but about 6 months into my practice I was able to take heated yoga sculpt. Yoga sculpt is the best workout! They had a summer challenge last year and I could totally see the change in my body. Corepower also offers a variety of workshops including arm balances, props, and live music. I love that the instructors are open to you doing your own thing in class if your body just isn't jiving with the flow. The studio is also pretty clean and well kept. There's mat and towel rentals. The floor is cushiony so it's easy on the joints. The only thing I wish they had are mat lockers! read more

I've had tried three different yoga studios in Seattle before finding CorePower yoga. They are not messing around! They know they offer a great studio and they show it by offering a free week - no commitment. I signed up for the free week and became a member after it expired. My problem with other studios was schedule. Most studios do not have the range of class times that this studio has. Another issue I had with previous studios was that there wasn't enough variety in yoga formats offered. I love CorePower yoga because it offers a few easy classes as well as sculpt, hatha style, and vinyasa style yoga classes. And to top it off, they have great amenities and a shopping area. I hadn't been practicing yoga regularly for a long time, and it's been a struggle for me to get back into it. I decided to give core power a try because it was near my house, and they offered a free week to try it out. I was really impressed. The instructors are super friendly, the studios are beautiful and clean, and there are so many different classes throughout the day. After my trial week was up I was so happy, I signed up for a monthly membership, and I'm so glad I did. The Ballard location is great, and they even offer a cycling class. The instructors have all been phenomenal, and so helpful. One of my favorite things is that they are so respectful of each individuals practice and personal space. I've never had a problem with having instructors assist with my practice, but this was the first place I've ever been asked if it was something I felt comfortable with. Not to mention, instructors have always been more than helpful with all of my questions from poses to yoga pants That kind of thoughtfulness is kind of a game changer for me. It's easy to be comfortable and work hard with that kind of environment. Core Yoga is one of the best things I've done for myself in a long time. I highly recommend giving them a try. read more

One of the coolest yoga spots I have experienced. I only work in Ballard one week per month and already am active at LA Fitness in Renton, but I would totally commit to coming here if I could. As soon as you walk in you already feel positive energy, and I felt totally welcomed when I first walked in. The changing rooms are clean, neat, and the layout is very appealing. The instructors are nice, and extremely helpful. I love the different varieties of the classes they offer and it seems you will always keep pushing to do better here. I have been a CorePower member since last summer and generally have loved the experience. I did recently put it on hold, however, to give ClassPass a try. The experience at CP varies a LOT by instructor--some are phenomenal (Kai, Jay), most are just fine and some are pretty bad (I have had several experiences where the instructor completely lost track of the Hot Power Fusion sequence, which stays the same each time). This is a great spot for a good, solid work out with lots of sweat. I wouldn't necessarily expect your yoga practice to come a long way as that's not really the focus here (teaching is limited to minor adjustments). The music is great, the space is beautiful and the people are super friendly. I have been very impressed with how quickly the teachers will learn your name and that they geuinely seem excited to see you. The class offerings are strong and I always appreciated having a more traditional "hot yoga" class (HPF), a vinyasa option and then sculpt for strength training. One minor complaint is that the heat is often quite a bit higher than online descriptions indicate it will be (something I have noticed at other heated studios as well). So come prepared to sweat! read more

have been doing yoga for most of my adult life. This one is pretty much the same as all CP locations - same class types, same set-up, same amenities, etc. Stellar location for bus and parking availability! Corepower has some really awesome classes and teachers, but they also have some that aren't....for example, I've had a particular rough time with one Sunday yoga teacher that is obviously hungover - when she shows up - and likes to turn up the music way too loud and then won't turn it down when asked. Other than that, the workouts are challenging but doable, and I enjoy the instructor's upbeat personality and teaching style! I think I'll try some of the other studios to compare weekend instructors. read more

I love this place and loved the class I just took...all relaxed and ready to tackle the rest of my work day when sadly I came back in the locker room and my work pants I had hanging up had disappeared! Not jumping to any conclusions at first I searched my bag, looked in a few different lockers but nothing surfaced. Yes, I maybe should have locked my items up but never have in the past. Lesson to be learned..... lock your stuff up at all times ... even when it's a yoga studio ! My next visit will be with a paddle-lock. read more

This studio has really gone down hill in the last 6 months all the great instructors have left and been replaced with 20 year olds preaching about " life " and how to live it, like they have any life experience. If you want to do power yoga, this is hands down the best place to practice yoga in Seattle. Their staff is consistently unpretentious and friendly. Their teachers and classes are always awesome. The studio is clean and comfortable and the parking is free. Their prices are fair, too and they'll let you try for a week with no commitment. There are classes all day, every day and you don't have to sign up ahead of time or risk being charged a fee. I've been to a lot of yoga studios in Seattle, and this is the one place that has everything I want. (One disclaimer: If you're less active or prefer a class that's more just stretching and laying on the floor, breathing deeply, this is probably not the place for you.) read more

I went to Meg's HPF class on Sunday. She was amazing! The room is open, spacious, and very warm. Meg's music is great, it's upbeat and fun- makes the hard poses easier. Her clear instructions are great- she's at ease yet really specific about positions. She is also spot on with her adjustments- I was in a backwards (i think camel?) pose that I never thought I could do. I'm hooked! read more

my absolute favorite yoga studio. ever. love the variety of classes- vinyasa, hatha, weights... not too hot, love that they incorporate core work in the middle of class. clean facility, i would even take a shower here. the instructors have all been very friendly & helpful. every now and then they have special classes, for example i did one tonight that specifically focused on hips & hamstrings- it was awesome. i'll be back next week for the class that focuses on yoga for runners. read more

Wow - I have been doing Baptiste yoga in Seattle for 8 years, but when Core Power opened close to my house, I had to try it. And I am super hooked. The sculpt classes are a perfect complement to the level 2 classes and I look forward to indoor cardio with the Ryder bikes coming soon. My only tiny complaint is that I wish the early AM class was 6:30 instead of 6 AM. Harder to be consistent. And, that there was a 6 AM sculpt once or twice a week. Awesome!!!!! read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! It's right next to our apt and everything about it is awesome. There's 2 studios for yoga and 1 for spin. Locker rooms are clean with everything provided if you need to shower. All the instructors are really friendly and helpful.
