It has a lovely, cozy side entrance full of plants and a little area to sit and take your shoes before entering the studio. The good part about it is that you can leave your belongings and it feels safe. If you don't feel like leaving your things outside, it also has cubbies indoor next to the reception. What you can't see in this picture is the gorgeous plants that are hanging inside the studio. THE TEACHER & CLASS I went to a Zumba class and sweat like crazy. Lorena, the teacher, made the class so much fun, with a variety of music and dance movements. Lorena was caring and laughed about her own mistakes allowing us all to enjoy the class and not feel that if you missed a step was a big deal. This point was to have fun and work out... Mission accomplished! ABOUT THE OWNER Karina, the owner was there when I checked in. She was super warm and caring. She asked about how I found about the studio and shared that this specific class was for a bigger cause. They were donating the proceeds of the studio and teacher to help someone in need!! It made me want to come back again and again knowing that is a place that not only cared for their clients but for the world as well. Karina also participated in the class and was super aware if anyone needed water or anything at all. This kind of care is the one that makes (at least to me) to become a lover of a business. PARKING I was super lucky because I found parking in front of the studio, but this area is known for the hard parking situation. So my recommendation is come with time to search for parking. I even did my 200 YTT training and certification with them! That place was like my second home filled with a rotation of chosen family. Once I moved back home to the South Bay, I knew I'd have a lot more options in terms of studios and styles, but that meant I would have to really shop around and play yoga tourist until I found a good fit. As much as I love yoga, I wasn't looking forward to this process. I didn't want to feel like the stranger, the noob, the clueless casual. I've now taken three classes at 423 Yoga (Yoga Sculpt with Melody, 90 Minute Vinyasa with Jill, and Hot Power with Lori), and I can say with a ton of confidence that this just might be my new home studio. Each of these amazing instructors offered an experience that was completely new to me in some way. I had a lightbulb "Aha!" moment in each class that ushered a breakthrough either in deepening a posture, activating a forgotten muscle, or releasing tension. I've taken hundreds and hundreds of classes (hot, yin, vinyasa, barre, sculpt, F.I.T., weighted yoga, etc.) and what kept me hooked into a regular practice was the daily reset that meant I might feel like Final Boss Yogi one day, and Newborn Baby Deer the next. I was surprised all the time. This type of surprise is a feature of a high quality studio with engaged instructors who don't see this as just another job. They live and breathe it, so their classes feel alive and valuable. In my opinion, Yoga should never feel overly predictable or like a snooze. The classes at 423 kept me locked in, focused, and completely in my breath and body. Class attendance has been on the smaller side, which I love. Overcrowded, loud, heated studios can be way overstimulating, and 423 doesn't feel like that at all. I want to let out a sigh of relief when I arrive, which is exactly what they delivered. The other yogis in attendance have been friendly and welcoming, which is also a plus. The variety of in-house equipment they let everyone use is impressive, and especially so since everyone does their part to actually sanitize each piece after it's used. This is SO rare! I also love that they have a big parking garage. This is such a huge plus anywhere in LA. TLDR: 423 Yoga is doing everything right, and I think I love them for it.

A little background: I'm new to the area, and I did lagree for about 1.5 years when I lived near Arcadia. The machines there were the newer Megaformers, with black, white, and grey springs. At MDR, since they've been established longer in the South Bay, the machines are older generation, with red, orange, and yellow springs. They also have various footholds and handlebars set at different heights. Since I trained on the newer models, I'm still getting used to these older ones at MDR, and it can be a bit confusing. Sometimes I catch myself looking for footholds, or reaching for the wrong handlebar since I'm used to just one bar. That said, lagree is a fantastic full-body workout that targets your abs, legs, arms, and glutes. I still get a challenging, sweaty session every time, it is brutal in the best way. The instructors are helpful, and I don't mind the hands-on adjustments since that's how you actually learn and improve. I'm just not ready to commit to a long-term membership yet, given the South Bay pricing. Parking is plentiful in the shared underground lot.

Blue is such a soothing color, perfect for a Pilates class that takes you out of the noise and into the "void." There's reformer Pilates and a sauna available. They may expand with sound bath events and movie nights, too, which I'd be interested in attending. Milena, the owner and head instructor, is so calming and insightful. She was patient with us and gave us helpful pointers to better our form. There's a dedicated parking just next to the studio. Street parking is also available.
