Because it's "Thank You Thursday" on YELP and I had some major work done today by Dr. Dave, who is my regular dentist and has been taking good care of me for more than a decade, at beyond reasonable prices as I don't have insurance or much money for the type of work I need. His awesome assistant, Janet was on a well-deserved vacation, so I had the pleasure of Dr. Steve's wonderful assistant, Maria, who without knowing it helped to ease the pain of a rather complicated procedure by distracting my nerves, like stepping on my toe but without the pain Thanks, Tracy for always getting back to me promptly, managing to schedule me in, and putting up with my PITA whining at checkout I'm so fortunate to have gotten my place there and Dr. David keeping me as a patient. Beware! #### Hello - Yesterday I had my six month cleaning at your office and following the appointment, I was told by the hygienist that due to current scheduling, she was not able to book me a new 6-month cleaning appointment and instead had to book my next appointment for 12 months out. Six month cleaning intervals have always been the gold standard of dental care. After expressing my concern, she said she could put me on a waitlist for a cancellation in six months. This is very disappointing on multiple levels. First, it is clear Lakewood Ranch Dental has taken on more patients than it can properly service which is now compromising patient health care. Second, the proposed solution of a waitlist for last minute cancellations is wholly inadequate especially for working professionals who frequently travel out of state. Advanced scheduling is a must. After expressing my disappointment, the hygienist explained that LWR Dental's schedule is so full because of frequent last minute cancellations (ostensibly the reason for your recently published updated cancellation policy). While I have no reason to doubt that is a current challenge for you, the fact is this is a LWR Dental business process issue of its own making that has now become your customers' problem. I challenge you to find an adequate solution to this situation or I will be forced to find a different service provider. This would be unfortunate because I really like Dr. Auletta, but your business processes needs immediate management attention.

After rescheduling, they refused to reattach the crown unless I took new X‑rays. I had recent X‑rays sent from my previous dentist, but they claimed they "couldn't accept them" and that Florida law required new ones. I checked--there is no such law. In my view, this is a practice that pushes unnecessary procedures to generate revenue. I would stay away.
