I had dental work done, a permanent bridge put in. They ran the numbers to give me my portion of the procedure, which was $2400.00. I paid them what I owed. It turns out, the dental office don't actually submit the work to your insurance company before hand, unless you specifically request it. Turns out my insurance compony denied it and wouldn't cover any of it, so I'm on the hook for another $1500.00. Why do they draw up the plan and costs and have you sign paperwork, without actually seeing what your true cost is. This has never happened to me in 57 years of going to a dentist, I truly feel scammed with Krause. I will no longer be going there. read more

I wish I could give zero stars. My experience with Dr. Krause has been nothing short of a nightmare.   They make appointments when they get paid quickly but when it's a correction of what they did wrong, you experience a lengthy delay if not being completely avoided.   I was called in and made to wait for hours in the waiting room.  They performed a quick evaluation and told me I needed to come back in 3 weeks as that was the first available appointment and that they had other patients waiting for service outside.   The scheduler Julie originally made this appointment for me under the assurance that Dr. Krause would fix my painful issue but when I showed up, they said it was a mere consultation. Why did you ever schedule me when you have other more important patients waiting for you to charge while you've already collected from me and ruined my entire mouth? You made me take time off work and then have the audacity to ask me to return in three weeks after making me wait 90 minutes outside?   Treatments are rushed and careless. Instead of fixing my dental issues, this dentist made them worse; much worse. I left their office crying in front of five other patients waiting in the lobby because both sides of my mouth went untreated while I was in excruciating pain and experiencing bleeding gums. All they had to do was comfort me and say "We apologize but we don't have enough time today to treat you but we will give you the first available appointment and take care of you."   A simple procedure turned into a disaster, leading to several complications and eventually two root canals (and two crowns) that could have been avoided. This cost me over $4,000. Half my mouth is in worse shape than when I first walked into their office. I have had to seek help from another dentist and an orthodontist just to undo Dr. Krause's damage. Actually,  I take that back. There is no undo. All the other dentist(s) could do was finish the work Dr. Krause abandoned.   Save yourself the pain, frustration, anguish, embarrassment and expense; go somewhere else. I would never recommend Dr. Krause to anyone. What a shame/sham! read more

I agree with the other comments/reviews on here. The service and communication was great until a few years ago. I stopped going after I found out 2 years ago that they had been billing my insurance fraudulently for deep cleanings which I never had received. I believe they were doing this because I had good insurance and it t covered all my cleanings. Once I went on Medicare and had to pay I uncovered this. The staff was as very rude when I pointed this out. In addition Dr. Krause is no longer present at the Sarasota office every day. Look elsewhere if you n ed a dentist. read more

I used to like this practice and Dr Krause a lot. Something happened after the pandemic and it went downhill. Last time I was there for a cleaning I felt as if my teeth were not cleaned at all. Also, they treat patients rudely and without consideration and they mess up their billing. Had my teeth cleaned every 3 to 4 months with X-rays taken a few times a year at Dr Kraus office. The Hygienists were good but Dr Kraus missed decay in a few of my teeth which had to be extracted, which lead me to need implants. Disappointed after years of going to him for my dental care. Been going to Krause Dental for 3-4 years now. I chose this practice because of the good reviews. So far, I have NO real complaints. I have not needed any major work other than periodontal maintenance. The only odd thing is,...I'm not particularly fond of "corporate dental offices", and I chose "Dr. Krause" because of his competent reviews. However, in 3-4 years, I have never even been seen by, or met Dr. Krause. - Dr. Williams has seen me a couple times, and again NO complaints. For 30 years my best friend, my only friend, was doctor Schmitt from Philadelphia. And he died and I - stupidly - thought that each dentist is like Charles. I took two dentists to deprive me of seven teeths. And it took me a year to understand that to find a good dentist is almost as important as finding a good wife, good job , good friends. Yesterday after my tooth broke off 5 months after a filling and crown , I posted a single star rating. In retrospect he should get 5 thumbs down for hiring Williams and being an absentee owner. Then Krause gave me an Attitude when I confronted him. $1,140 and $699 later plus $122 for looking at the damage. And he refers an Oral Surgeon for the extraction, bone graft, post an another crown. One of the best dentist you can go to in Sarasota and vicinity. Fixed my smile with 4 porcelain crowns and all I get is complements only. Friendly , professional, detail oriented in great atmosphere in his office, including his whole staff. Just a great experience from start to finish....the whole 9 yards!! If I could give a 0 I would. I woke up Sunday morning in excruciating pain and swelling with a dental abcess. I called the office for their emergency number. I called that emergency number from 9 am to 2 pm with never a call back. My primary care jumped in and gave me a script for antibiotics which helped right away. I need a dentist who is more than fillings, crowns and cleanings. I need someone I know is available for emergencies. They obviously are not. I'm done with Dr Williams and Krauss dental. read more

I hate to be the bad guy here with a bad review but I've got to tell it like it is. I needed to have a big old tooth prepped and crowned after it chipped. I looked for a dentist here and went with Krause dental bc of reviews. I went in and Dr Williams did the work on the tooth and put a temporary on. No problem...went back 2 weeks later and when Janine tried to pull off the temporary I couldn't even stand the feeling that went right through me..it took awhile to get it off and it was horrible..I should have had her numb it..as she tried to clean it and touch it, it was awful..finally got the crown on and she told me this is all normal..I have 4 crowns that I had done back home..never ever had this problem! After 2 weeks I called the office and told them I still have that feeling...even if I just touch it with my finger...2 of the girls told me to give it more time..after a month made an appointment..had to wait a week before I could be seen. The appointment was yesterday at 4..got there at 3:50..had to wait outside bc I won't wear a mask ( almost 2 years..move on,) asked at 4:15 if there was a problem and they said no..At 4:35 I left. They called me at 4:50 to say they were looking for me..ok bye she says. Never seen, no call..nothing. I am really questioning the quality of the crown. Dr Williams says he would like to update the other 3 that I have. With treatment like this...never. Seeing an endondist next week and if they tell me it's the crown..I will fight for a refund. read more

I used to fly back north, see family, and my dentist of 30 years. THEN COVID came to town. I held off, hoping lockdowns/ flight restrictions would end, but they didn't. Had a painful tooth problem, went to Dr. Krause. I needed a complicated root canal, he referred me to Dr Raul Ortiz. Dr. Krause does great dental work above all (had to get a crown first time in my life), has a fabulous calm and caring "bedside manner", has all the new technology, and has a beautiful office and a positive, kind staff. I have quite a bit of anxiety about going to the dentist. It's hard to believe that all anxiousness disappeared when going to Krause Dental. Dr. Kevin Krause, his assistant Janeen, Stacey at the front desk, and any other staff we have encountered at this office go above and beyond to make the dental visit not only pleasant and comfortable, but also successful! When it comes to affording dental work, Stacey is so wonderful about guiding us through the insurance process. The time she takes to make it all work out is amazing. Janeen, Dr. Krause's assistant, shows such compassion and understanding as well as great skill throughout any work being done. Dr. Krause is exceptional. He is kind, caring, and professional. He takes time to gently explain, answer questions, and has the patience to make sure comfort is achieved throughout the entire procedure. Instead of my usual gripping of the dental chair arms from experiences in other offices, I found myself calm and relaxed from start to finish. There is thoughtfulness for patient comfort in this office. The reception area is beautiful, clean, and relaxing. Even the examining room shows consideration in its design that includes a monitor on the ceiling for viewing while in the position for work to be done.
