Food is excellent. Finally, they have non-meat options-not everyone loves or can digest pork, and for many, fasting is part of their faith. Ambiance is mixed art mediums, local artists displaying their wares for sale. I always appreciate when a business gives an artist a place to shine. Service is the only category left that is up for debate. The workers in the kitchen decided they were too hot and propped open the front door to cool off at the expense of their clientele being too cold. I inquired as to why the door was propped open and that was the attitude I got back.. I have never been impressed by the attitude of the staff in general and now, even less so. It was approximately 45 degrees outside, and a warm cup of cocoa or coffee and muffin hits the spot. Hands down one of the best places for muffins and cake! This bakery has a wide selection of baked fresh items including gluten free options. There's usually 4 different cake flavors to choose from but the champagne cake is by far my favorite ...albeit VERY sweet. Their blueberry muffins are giant, moist, and packed with blueberries! My son always asks for their macaroon and bacon quiche. Seating is throughout the building but I've yet to visit on a day where it isn't busy, so don't get your hopes up on being able to sit down. Amazing bakery in Tacoma with a wide variety of treats, drinks, savory sandwiches and more. I ordered their tuxedo cheesecake slice and banana pudding cup on my visit. Both were delicious and priced reasonably. The inside of the bakery is very nice with a good amount of seating. I definitely want to come back to enjoy coffee and a pastry inside one day. Love this bakery! I found it last summer and ever sense always find a reason to come back! Great for meeting friends/colleagues/family. I've brought friends from out of town here and love picking up a pastry! Came here to check out the baked goods. Everything looks delicious in the window but so disappointing to taste. Ordered a cinnamon roll and apple pie monkey bread. My 2nd negative review. So, I placed an order, via phone, mind you 4 days prior to pickup. I get to Corina Bakery, there are literally 5 people working, 3 free and shooting the breeze, Jason the owner looks at me but acts as though Im not there. Finally this chic comes to ask how can I help. I give my na.e and my order. They search for about 6 mins, can't find it comes back and asks, what is your name again. I give her my name, the order was placed under the incorrect last.name, the 1st letter was correct. How do you get Turner out of Thomas??? Then Jason says "I'll get the order out real quick. He goes and gest these cupcakes that I were not the specified order, some they already had in the back. When I said I ordered icing, no decorations his reply was, "do you want me to scrape the flower off?' I told him "you allure the worst, He said, oh, sorry you feel that way'. I am a person of color and thought the 1st time that I had a bad experience it was just me. But I honestly knew today it is NOT ME!!!! They really are the worst. What a fantastic bakery! After watching a movie next door, we stopped in for a treat. I got a soy mocha, my daughter got a red velvet cupcake and a truffle, and we grabbed a cookie for her dad. I wanted to try a breakfast sandwich or a frittata! They have both meat and vegan options, however it wasn't hungry at the time (I'm vegetarian, so was super happy with these options). Now I wish I would have just picked one up! They also have beer and wine. My coffee was fantastic and desserts were great. My only complaint is that they close so early. I believe it was 4:00. I do understand it's a bakery, but they're next door to the theater and I feel like they would do well later. read more

I've always gotten amazing pastries whenever I visit Corina. Their honey lavender cupcakes in particular are to die for, well worth the pre-order. I also recommend the orange chocolate muffin. I've had a couple servers that were a bit rude, but I can't fault the whole establishment for that. It's the baked goods that keep me coming back. I had high hopes for this stop with all the great reviews. We stopped, and I got a brownie, a slice of white cake with berry filling, and my stepmom got a piece of orange-pineapple cake. I took one bite of my cake, and it was not good!! It had an awful texture and aftertaste. I don't know if it was gluten-free or what was going on. My stepmom tried it, and she agreed it was not good. I tried her slice, and it was better. I pushed my slice to the side and tried the brownie- nope! Gross! I was not a fan and won't return. Disappointed with Service and Professionalism I was genuinely excited to book Corina Bakery for my wedding cake on 7/19/2025. We had our tasting in January, and everything seemed clear--including the pricing. However, one month before the wedding, I received a call to confirm details and was told I had been mistakenly quoted 2024 pricing at the tasting. The cake price increased by $150, and I was told the full amount was due that day--something that had never been communicated to us at tasting or any point prior. While we didn't have an issue paying the balance, it was incredibly unprofessional for the bakery to wait six months to notify me of a pricing error--especially with no advance warning or courtesy reminder that a payment would be expected on that date. The person covering the cost of the cake had no heads-up and was expected to pay the entire balance immediately. I followed up with an email on 6/21, trying to find a fair resolution. I explained that the price we were quoted had been given in good faith, and that I had planned accordingly. I received no response--no email, no call, no acknowledgment at all. It felt like, since the balance had already been paid, they no longer felt it necessary to address my concerns. Despite the ongoing issues, I decided to move forward, hoping at least the cake itself would be perfect. On 7/17, I delivered $45 worth of floral to the bakery for them to decorate the cake, per their request since they won't provide floral for a $750+ cake. When the cake arrived at our venue the next day, less than half of the floral had been used--and the rest was not returned. I find this highly unprofessional. I provided product I purchased myself, and not only was it mostly unused, but there was no communication or transparency about what happened to the remaining flowers or returning them. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came after the wedding. Our cake had three tiers, each with a different flavor. The bottom tier--the largest--was supposed to be honey vanilla, my husband's favorite. When we finally got to enjoy the leftovers, we realized the entire bottom tier was lemon--the flavor the middle tier was supposed to be. We were incredibly frustrated. My husband called on 7/21 and spoke with a manager, who acknowledged that this was not acceptable and that we'd likely receive a refund for the incorrect tier. She also told us someone would call us by 7/23 and even instructed us to save the leftover cake as "proof." Like we're liars?? Also when my husband called to express our frustration with the overall experience--including the lack of communication and unresolved issues--the manager claimed someone had attempted to call me after my email but that I hadn't answered. However, I have no missed calls or voicemails from them that entire week. If they truly attempted contact, I would have expected at least a follow-up email acknowledging the attempt or inviting further conversation. But instead, we were met with silence. We did as requested by them but as of 7/27, no one has contacted us. We've had no follow-up, no apology, and no resolution. I ended up throwing the cake away, still waiting for a call that never came. For a bakery with a 5-star reputation, this experience was extremely disappointing. Communication was poor, follow-through was nonexistent, and we were left feeling like we didn't matter as customers once the bill was paid. If you're considering Corina Bakery for a wedding or important event, I encourage you to consider other options--ones that will treat you with professionalism, respect, and transparency. read more

I've never had a bad dessert from here. Corina's constantly nails having moist cake, and flavors that blend so seamlessly. Most recently they did a cake for my sisters baby shower. Since it was a boy and they wanted the pink champagne cake itself, we were able to change the color of the frosting and inside of the cake ($5 for frosting change) Fav flavors so far in order are: honey lavender, Tacoma tiramisu, and the pink champagne! read more

Meh- I have not been that impressed the past 3 or 4 visits to Corina. Today I got a GF/Vegan Choc Chip cookie which was dry, lacking choc chips, and incredibly expensive. I usually recommend others to order party cakes from here as well... but even my friends have said they have received sub par treats. I am not sure why this spot has gone down hill... but I hope it changes. Baked treats are dry, overly sweet, and the vegan/gf stuff just tastes off. Still same issues as in 2015 I bought a slice of red velvet cake it had no flavor if I were blindfolded I never would have guessed what type of cake it was and the icing also had no flavor. It was a VEGAN wedding cake and it was one of the most moist vegan cakes I have ever tasted. They do both non vegan cakes and vegan cakes. The customer service was great, and they were very attentive to our needs and the design we wanted. The pricing was not too bad either, in my opinion. Our guests all loved the cake design and the flavor of the cake. It was a strawberry cake with chocolate ganache, and vanilla icing. I highly recommend Corina bakery for your wedding cake need! I have been near this place so many times and yet I had never walked in. The other day we were heading over to the Grand to watch a film and I figured I would check them out and grab a treat. We grabbed a few treats (cinnamon roll and a few macaroons) and everything was tasty. A couple days later we had a the day off and decided to check it out again while hanging around the greater Tacoma area. And grabbed a few more goodies and some coffee. The coffee was nice still. The treats were the dutch apple muffin and a piece of strawberry chocolate cake. The dutch apple muffin may have been one of my favorite muffins ever. It was so nice on top and amazingly moist in the middle. Its a winner for sure and i will be buying many muffins in the future. The cake was pretty solid. it wasnt my absolute favorite, but it was large. The frosting was tasty. The strawberries were nice. The cake was a little gritty, but not unpleasant. I would recommend because size wise its the same as my favorite cake place, but price I think its a few bucks cheaper. Definitely worth another repeat visit and I imagine I will be making many more trips in the near future. read more

I came here to work for the second part of my day and let me tell you BLOWN away, the treats. I got a cupcake, I got a GF treat for my date, I got a Jalapeno Cheddar sandwich, alone the scone was insane. Everything they make there, its like heaven on the corner. The parking was a little hard, but its during the day in the middle of the week so it wasn't that bad to walk. I was a HUGE fan. I had lunch and snacks!! I had more coffee, ice because it was hott and knew I was going to be up all day. It was rather delicious and I will be back this week. Super cute local spot. Some things I really look for personally in these local cafes is free wifi and outlets because I work from home. So I like finding cute local places to frequent that I can bring my laptop to (used to do this in college too to study). So it's a little disappointing they don't have outlets other than one or two spots. But wifi is great! They have a full tea and coffee bar (not special coffee in my opinion but if you're not a coffee snob it's lovely). They also even have a limited alcohol menu for happy hour moments or maybe Sunday brunching. The decor is charming and quaint. Plenty of seating for meeting friends or camping out solo to work or read (like me). There's music but it's not blaring. An amazing assortment of bakery items, breakfast snacks, and sweet treats fill their cases. Everything I have tried has been pretty great thus far. The croissant was a little crispy but I didn't mind. There's also tables and umbrellas outside for nice days. Parking is street parking but I be er have a challenge finding a spot. The cannolis are end dipped in chocolate and the cream inside has that slight tang that says you've found the snack you need to keep you cool on a summer day. Corina Bakery is a sweet little spot. They have a wide variety of vegan, gluten free, and "regular" baked goods including cakes, macarons, muffins, and breads. Eating breakfast on their patio in the notorious Washington rain felt like a rite of passage for a tourist like myself. I was psyched to see they had a vegan breakfast burrito with tofu, potatoes, and other deliciousness. It would've been improved by the presence of some sort of sauce, either on the side or inside. Regardless, I really enjoyed the texture and slightly spicy flavor. The muffin was also super tasty. My partner described it as "more blueberry than muffin," which I would say is a compliment. If you have any food allergies this place is the place to go! Their gluten free and vegan chocolate cake is hands down one of the best cakes I've ever had (maybe the best) and that includes the cakes I had before I had to stop eating gluten and dairy. So the baked goods/food are average and are at a 3 star but the service was poor so I knocked it down a star. No thank you, no smile, just a drone behind the counter. It was quite depressing. I've said this before, I'm a healthcare worker so I know customer service and it doesn't matter what kind of day you're having, the customer does not care. Be kind, be friendly, we're all going through our own struggles. No need to run yours off on someone else.
