Crappy days call for cake! I was leaving the dog park when I thought - dessert would brighten my day. I looked up a bakery in my Waze app and it brought up Teresita's. I'd never been so I decided to stop by. This small bakery is tucked right on 38th & McKinley, which is crazy to me because I always go to the Top of Tacoma. Anyway, I went in and was greeted by a young man who was so well spoken and willing to explain what everything was. I decided trying one wasn't good enough! I decided to get Tres Leche cake, fruits tarts, arroz con Leche and a cheesecake. After paying the young man rushed to hold the door open as I was leaving. So sweet and polite! Please consider supporting this family owned business in the McKinley neighborhood of Tacoma. They do such a nice job with their baked goodies. Not only does Teresita's have cakes, macarons, and other sweet yummies, they do tamales. We have ordered twice from them and will again. Red Pork, Green Chili Chicken, and Mexican cheese with peppers. So delicious. We did larger orders of three dozen. Pre-orders are necessary as they make these once a week. They pack them hot in aluminum trays and covered with foil. We think they really appreciate these orders because they gave us a delicious fruit dessert on the house. So sweet. I have never written a bad review but let me just say that this place is something else.. I am only given them a one star to hopefully get anyones attention. I am a single mom try to make my baby's birthday more memorable as possible for myself and him of course so I decided to go all out. I have struggled to find a good bakery so I figured hey this bakery offer pricey cakes due to QUALITY especially based on the pictures. So I paid 180 dollars for this cake. They rent the base of the cake for like 30 bucks which i would have eventually gotten back. I was supposed to pick it up at 4 pm. Also mind you I went 3 weeks in advanced to place this order 3 weeks. Anyways day of the party comes I received a call at 3:30 they were running late and asked if were able to pick it up at 5. I was like okay sure you know the party is at 4 but guest don't arrive on time. 5 comes around guest are here already I myself cannot go pick up the cake so my sister goes to pick it up and has to take a 20-30 min drive has to take the hwy and there's traffic on a Saturday of course ! So anyways 5 comes around they go and I ended up receiving a call from my sister that they are still not done. My cake was a Late for two and a half hours almost threee. I was already disappointed next thing you know I'm looking at this cake and I'm just confused because look at this. And I didn't even get a picture but I got peaches on top layer when I specially asked for all strawberries. The only toy on this cake is a damn banana. It was a nice size cake and it cost 35.00 which I felt was reasonable. Anyway, got home and presented it to my hubby and he was surprised and grateful. We were surprised that the cake was chocolate and yellow cake. We never had chocolate tres Leches cake before. My only problem was I would have liked to have known that before I purchased it.
