    Crown Royal rocks pour

For what Spats is attempting to be, they're doing an awesome job! This is definitely a divey place. It's a neighborhood sports bar and nothing fancy. The staff is warm and friendly to all and the food and drinks are priced right. The place could probably use a good scrubbing, but I didn't feel like I was going to get sick or anything. It's just old inside. They offer outdoor seating and a dining room side. The menu seems to have several scratch made items. The theme is mostly bar food with an Italian focus added. We had burgers and fresh cut fries along with two pint beers and two rocks pours of crown whisky. Bill was $31 before tip. Great value. The food was pretty good for the price. My only complaint was the crumbling sesame seed bun that came on the Spats Big Boy style burger. They grilled it, but it was obviously old because it crumbled when I picked it up. Next time I'll order a different bun. The kaiser bun that came with the bacon-cheddar-mushroom burger was also grilled but soft and fresh. The burgers themselves were juicy and flavorful and came with perfect fries, fresh not frozen. Loved the pickles too. The liquor selection was vast. Only a few beers were on tap though. The patrons we encountered on our first visit here were regulars and friendly. The staff were conversational and welcoming. The back wall of the bar was lined with televisions. Could see this being a perfect spot for a game or grabbing a drink and quick bar bite!

Table by the fireplace was ready before we finished. Leah recognized us from 3 weeks ago. She brought water in glass, not plastic, remembered our food allergies, split our 14oz steak onto two plates before serving, and split our bill down the middle 50-50. Steak was perfect thanks to the chef, real mashed potatoes like homemade, and green beans weren't drowning in processed oils. Caught happy hour: diet Dr Pepper + ice cream with rum for dessert. Solid move. Danced the whole first set. Came back to an empty table -- purses still there in plain sight, plus six tall glasses of ice water, one full cocktail each, and one partially drunk Palermo each. Should've been a clue to the busser we weren't done. Spoke with Christian, the manager. Professional, pleasant, and made it right immediately. Ambience is above average: great lighting, defined dance floor, and a jaw-dropping koi pond. isn't Michelin-star, but it checks most boxes and is in my top 10 go-tos. Katie, Leah, and Christian were standout. Will be back

While my friends loved their food (Buttonhole salad for one and Reuben for the other) my "Zapper" burger was just not good tasting. Bottom bun was completely soggy. The meat tasted off. Sadly, since I'm the reviewer, I'm giving restaurant a 3. If the burger had tasted good this would be an easy 4. The fries were crispy and great. I'd recommend they go with a different dill pickle provider as the pickle spear wasn't great either. Maybe next time I'll try the Tuna .

Ordered the Sampler platter and Fish Basket. This is the first time I've ever had a fish dinner where there was enough tartar sauce for all the fish. :) Being all the food was fried; nothing was greasy or soggy. It's been around for a hundred years I'm kidding maybe not but the sign up front is faded and it's a working man's bar. They do have food in there standard bar Fair but what really gets me is the price of the drinks. I had two Coors lights and one bullet bourbon on the rocks and my bill was $10. That coupled with I took over the jukebox and played all the music I wanted to hear that I didn't have to talk to anybody or make any small talk. The place is dark a little run down but otherwise I really enjoy going there. The bartender is as nice as could be. She will put whatever you want to watch on the TV. I hate to post a review like this for fear that people will actually go to my hidden gem and ruin it but I don't care it's freaking awesome and everyone should go there.

We were greeted immediately by the bar tender who was running the whole show herself! We had beers in front of us almost instantly. They have a bunch of stuff on the menu, even breakfast on the weekends but we were here for one thing and one thing only. Smash burgers! Let's get into it: the patties are a proprietary blend of chuck, short rib, and brisket. Locally sourced! Cooked/smashed perfectly, full of flavor. The edges were crispy and fried while the insides were full of juice! The onions were sliced so thin and cooked so perfectly and absorbed the meat juice so well you might not even notice they're in there if you aren't looking for them the bun is potato, which for all my real burgerheads out there, is the best bun for smash burgers. Perfect bread to meat ratio, and the flavor matches excellently with the burger juices it absorbs. The fries were fresh and battered nicely, but I couldn't finish all of them after devouring the burger. But they were good enough I was still snacking on them while finishing my beer on a completely full stomach! this place is awesome check it out!
