Cute taco joint with outdoor seating and automated ordering system! My first time in here and I was immediately pleased to see kiosks inside, where you can order without talking to anyone! Ordered food and it came promptly via a cute pig/tray belt. The food itself was ok. We got tacos and chips and guac. The horchata was pretty good!

Really nice wooden logo carved into their tables

This is a new concept - it's a fully automated taqueria. You order from a kiosk and the food comes out in a conveyor belt. A screen tells you when the order is being prepared and when it's ready. The decor is great - tasteful, music, fresh. It's a small menu. A few types of tacos and quesadillas mainly. I had the pork cochinita, chicken mole, and spicy lamb. - all three are pretty good - the spicy lamb isn't spicy but is very moist and flavourful - great fresh guac - love the flavour I would say 3 tacos are on the small side. I ordered a side of rice to go with it, which I strongly advise if you're hungry. They have some really neat sounding vegan options too, including a vegan chorizo, but I didn't try it. Would definitely come back. Check it out!

It was soooooo gooood!!!

This little gem of a restaurant came recommended on Google maps, and it lived up to its reputation of being a 4.9 rating.. The rice and corn was perfect-no sticky mess. The Esquites (street corn) was very good. The short rib beef quesadilla was outstanding in flavor!! And I heard that the pork was supposed to be better yet so there's another stop we will have to make. The chicken enchilada was also very tasty and the green salsa was spot on! The wait staff was very courteous and the place is spotless. Definately on our top place to eat Mexican food in Vancouver. JC

Chiliquiles with Vegan chorizo, and their thicker flat taco.

As a vegan traveler, I love to support businesses that make an effort to provide more than just a token vegetable dish. This tiny taqueria had plenty of dishes that could be made plant based. I loved their patio, and the food was excellent! If I ever get to return to Vancouver I'll be sure to stop and get some of the other dishes I didn't try yet. Unique system of ordering at a touch screen was great to modify anything to your specifications.

-Automated and Flavorful Tacos- Ordered the short rib, spicy lamb and 2 pork. I can say they're all distinctly different and flavorful. The hot sauce on the side isn't particularly spicy, but adds a little extra to the tacos...but maybe not even needed as the meat really stands out on their own. The place is fully automated - except the person that explains to you that this place is fully automated. Is this why I have to tip the fully automated restaurant?

Growing up and living in California, I didn't realize there would be a scarcity of Mexican food…read more So, imagine my surprise (I know. Foolish American) when my friend and I were looking for Mexican food in Vancouver. La Taqueria was somewhat near (distance wise) to the suspension bridge. Definitely not walkable. It's in a more commercial area and we had a little bit of trouble finding it, but we managed to and good thing too. The food was so much better than I was expecting. It was absolutely delicious! Super cute interior with a good amount of seating. I want to make a note that this place did NOT have down time. There was always at least one customer at the counter or in line. I ordered the birria and I wish I had gotten two. My friend is vegan and was able to easily find something on the menu. Unfortunately, I forgot what it was, but she loved it too. I will definitely come back the next time I visit!

I imagine this is probably the least known location of them all. I expect that the menu is similar at all locations though. Having tried this one...I don't think I need to try any of the other locations. The food wasn't bad, but for what we got...I think it was extraordinarily overpriced. My daughter and I both ordered one cup of Horchata each. We were both in the mood for cheese quesadilla. On the menu you can order one 10" cheese quesadilla for $9.00. There's also a Mexican style quesadillas option on the menu which offers Two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Rather than both of us ordering a separate quesadilla for $9.00 each, and then spending $18.00 total on quesadillas, we decided to share the two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Wow...these two cheese quesadillas were puny. In all fairness, the menu doesn't state the size of the two cheese quesadillas, like it does for the individual 10" quesadilla. Still though...for $15.00, it really didn't seem like very good value. The quesadillas were delicious, but for $15? Really didn't seem worth the money. We polished off the quesadillas in no time and decided to head somewhere else for some more eats.

The hostess wasn't the friendliest and we did wait a bit before being greeted by anyone, but our server was great. She was enthusiastic and even brought us extra napkins because some of the dishes we ordered were messy. After sitting down we were given complimentary chips and salsa. Every dish is made fresh to order. Tacos: comes on a plate of 3. Out of all 4 dishes we ordered, this was my least favourite. It was still tasty, but nothing special. Barbacoa: everyone at the table enjoyed this dish the most. The beef brisket was so tender. It came with 5 warm corn tortillas. Shrimp taquitos: nice and crispy corn tortillas, we liked the shrimp filling. I also really liked the guac on top, it tasted so fresh. Enchiladas de pollo: the cheese and sour cream made the dish really creamy and satisfying. We also enjoyed the rice & black beans that came with it.

I sat at the bar, service was attentive and I enjoyed my chat with the bartender. As I was just wanting something small I settled on the sopes and was pleased with my choice, well plated and nice flavour combinations. The jalapeño margarita was ok but I've had better. There were some interesting and seemingly tasty items on the menu I'd like to come back and try sometime. Will probably be back when in the area again.
