love the paper thin tortilla that's nicely charred. perfect taco for baja fish, cabbage & tomato salsa. bigger lime pieces would be better.

for a fun, fast and casual taco and burrito bar, this tacofino is my go to place! I can go anytime and get a great meal, with minimal waiting. I prefer tacos as they are lighter, and love their super thin, slightly charred tortillas. all the different fillings are tasty, but my faves are the soy marinated steak and the baja fish. I've had their burritos before from their food truck, and they are also very tasty and very filling. I appreciate the complimentary still or sparkling water, clean interior design and efficient service. there's happy hour and daily specials too. things to improve... they cut their lime wedges too small, so it's hard to squeeze the juice out of them to enhance my tacos. please cut them larger! the crispy chicken and sometimes the fish seem to have more batter than meat, so that ratio needs improvement, to taste the actual protein instead of just crispy batter. the carnitas need to be fully shredded and moistened more, to make them more appealing (like la taqueria's).

First time visiting the Kits location and we really enjoyed the food. Got the happy hour sangrias, fish tacos and crispy chicken taco. We really wanted the al pastor but by 1pm they were already all sold out. The cashier made a mistake on our bill but were quick to correct it and was so kind, and said it was a learning opportunity for her which I highly appreciated. Food came out fast and was filling and tasty. Definitely will go again during their other happy hour deals!

Wow, are their tacos ever so delicious, filling and pretty. Almost all of them are perfectly balanced with different textures and flavour profiles. When it comes to the Carnitas, it's tender pork paired with pickled red onions to give it a zing. The crispy chicken tacos, have this black garlic aïoli that is out of this world; it's umami to a tee. They're battered fish tacos. Have a great salsa Fresca on top, but it does make the tacos, that ideally should be super crispy, a bit soggy unfortunately. The service is always friendly and their locations and food trucks are both very busy but yet you don't wait too long.

Crispy Tofu Bowl + Piña Colada

This is of a few Tacofino locations. I like that the different locations all have slightly different menus so you can try different things at each location. It's tacos and burritos, but thats about where the Mexican influence ends; it's West Coast flavours wrapped up in a tortilla. You order and pay at the counter here, but the staff will bring your food out and even bus your table for you. Everyone here was friendly and very diligent about cleaning up after customers left. I got the crispy tofu bowl and a piña colada. The bowl was very tasty: big flavour, good pairing of textures with the soft tofu and eggplant with crispy cabbage and cauliflower. Hot sauce on the side is optional - I said yes to this and they brought out 2 kinds. Both were good on their own but I preferred the green with these flavours. Although the bowl already has jalapeños, the hot sauce was essential for me in tying this together. There was no rice or any grain/carb and I kind of felt like it was missing something because of that - both in the composition sense and nutritional sense. Obviously getting this in burrito form solves that, but if ordering as a bowl, you might want to get chips or something on the side. The other burritos/bowls do contain rice, it's just this one that is without. The piña colada was not a thick slush like I expected, but more like a shaken drink. Very good, though. The coconut foam topping was fun. It was a little expensive for the size considering the amount of it that was ice. Definitely would go back here if I'm nearby or it's on the way again to try more.

Had a fantastic meal at the Tacofino in Kitsilano. They're open 11:30am-9:00pm and I stopped by for a late lunch with a friend. Opted to dine in, got a number and was served very quickly. Water is self serve. Ordered the chips and guacamole ($9) and really enjoyed crispy chips. I got the albacore tuna taco ($7.50) and enjoyed the soy glaze, wasabi mayo, wakame, pickled ginger, and nori. I also got the classic pacific cod taco ($6.50). With chipotle mayo, salsa fresca, cabbage, this taco is probably my favorite consistently across all tacofino locations. Enjoyed both tacos with the hot sauces. Yum!

Dinner at Tacofino Ocho (E 5th and Ontario) Nachos and tacos are good as usual. However, their churros are dry and slightly Service is ok.

The burritos are awesome here! The tortilla wraps are delicious and they give a generous sized burrito. I liked the maui pork a lot, but I wish there was more of it in the burrito.

Been waiting to try this place as I'm new to the city. Tip 1: don't attempt at eating the tacos in the car. Requires a very high taco skill that apparently I do not have. Tacos were tasty. I liked the crispy chicken a lot. The pork one was good but had a lot of fat parts in it. Will still come back to try other things on the menu. A bit expensive for two tacos but it filled me for my late lunch.

I first had Tacofino at a friends wedding when they had their truck come for an after wedding party. The fish tacos were soooo good and ruined me for any other future fish tacos. Had it again this weekend and it was delicious and fresh. I would say that I could've eaten two but only ordered one so order more than one if you are pretty hungry.

I ordered their fish taco and tuna taco. Between the two, the fish taco was by far the best. It was meaty and big. The tuna taco was a bit dry and we were disappointed. Their fish taco had a lot of chopped tomatoes and onions and it was great!

Sat us down, took our orders and brought us our food then quickly brought the bill so they could change tables over. The Margarita here was excellent. Definitely felt like a strong boozey drink. Well done! Tried their Chilaquiles - not sure what I was expecting but this was more nachos than anything else. Definitely not the best in the city either. Maiz De Cole - strangely the best option that I selected. The chilli, lamb, cilantro just went so well. Great light option if you need one. Definitely not better than a good Mexican street corn though. Birria Taco - wanted to like this but didn't leave much to be desired. Large portions of protein Ordered the extra Birria as my date also wanted this. Looking back, should have stuck with the single order. It was way too much birria protein which after a few bites became overly dry and lacked flavour. Carnitas Tacos - come in a order of 2. Better option for smaller appetites. Overall, felt a bit steep in price. Their website online doesn't even post prices yet.

Our server was attentive and around when we needed something but never interrupting, and his recommendations ended up being some of our favourite dishes. The anchovy olives were a standout, super crispy, packed with flavour, and not overly fishy at all (great if you're a bit hesitant about anchovies). The mushroom toast was rich, savoury, and full of umami. Just a heads up not to let it sit too long since it softens the bread. The tuna tartare was fresh and well-balanced. Not my personal favourite served on toast, but still really enjoyable overall. The paella was excellent, perfectly cooked shrimp, tclams, and crispy pork belly chicharrón that added the best salty, fatty crunch. The roasted cabbage completely surprised me and was easily one of the best veggie dishes I've had in a while. I could have eaten a whole plate of it. We wrapped things up with churros and shared a pitcher of sangria. For three people, it came out to about $68 each before tip, which felt very fair for how much we ordered. Would definitely recommend.

As well, the manchego was so tiny it was like a shaving . The bone marrow amounted to about three teaspoons of marrow. We were so sad and dissatisfied. The patatas bravas was okay. Unfortunately we do not have a reason to return.
