I order an arrangement weekly which she drops off and nurses before she goes explaining anything I need to know to keep the flowers looking amazing. The Cornelia McNamara Flowers team created beautiful arrangements for my local Chicago wedding at Promontory Point last July! It was important to me to get flowers that didn't have a huge environmental impact, so finding Cornelia McNamara and her Chicago flower farm was a dream come true! I loved that all the flowers were grown locally and didn't have the huge environmental footprint of flowers that are flown in from warmer climates. Because this is a local business, the process for ordering was less formulaic than it is at other florists. Instead of filling out an online form and picking from a few arrangement options, I emailed and talked with Cornelia directly, shared my inspiration pictures, and trusted her team of professionals to do an amazing job (which they absolutely did!). Thoughtful details like having the boutonnieres use magnetic fasteners and having the corsages on beautiful diamantine bracelets that were easy to take on and off made everything seamless. Even when I made a last minute addition of ten centerpieces two weeks before the wedding, the team was super accommodating and everything turned out beautifully! While these flowers were not the cheapest option available, working with someone who cares deeply about her craft while simultaneously caring for her employees and the environment made picking this vendor a no brainer. If you're looking for a wedding florist, stop and call Cornelia immediately. She was so fun to work with and her vision is amazing. She turned Frontier's Beer Garden into a venue that jumped off the pages of a bridal magazine. From beginning to the end, I couldn't have dreamed of a better experience. I wish there was an option to put 6 or 10 stars for Cornelia. She was our wedding florist for our wedding this summer at the Art Institute of Chicago. But saying she was only a florist doesn't do it justice - she came with us to all of our on-site visits at the venue, came up with way too many iterations of floral arrangements, and put up with our indecisiveness. The best part - she even helped us design our reception area and gave us pointers on color schemes and other decorations (including a perfect arrangement of lanterns over the dance floor). So in actuality, instead of a florist, she was more like the interior designer and decorator for the entire wedding, and in the process went way above and beyond what she needed to do. In fact, one of our most special memories of the wedding was, as we were running around with our photographer taking pictures, we see Cornelia standing in front of our two main arrangements flanking the ceremony stage, head cocked to one side, as people are milling around her, completely in her own world analyzing the crap out of the arrangement. What to us already looked STUNNING was still not perfect enough for Cornelia, and she spent the next few hours getting it just right. We found out later that the morning of the wedding she ran out to get some more flowers just to make sure everything not only matched our expectations, but also her (much higher) expectations. Cornelia made my wedding beautiful! I can's say enough good things. I had gone to speak with 2 other florists before meeting Cornelia and I knew within the first 5 minutes of talking that i'd be working with her on my wedding. Her passion and enthusiasm was contagious and she 's just incredibly talented. I don't know a lot about flowers but she listened to my vision, looked through pictures with me and just nailed it! I wanted to make use of a lot of greenery and fresh smelling herbs and have a mix of rustic and modern. She made a lush table runner for the head table- everyone was commenting on it's beauty and how good it smelled. She also made a beautiful head piece for my flower girl- the pictures are priceless. Cornelia's arrangements are just stunning. I met with several florists when planning my wedding and felt Cornelia was the most consultative and creative of the bunch. She really took the time to get to know me and my vision for the wedding and took all of my tear sheets, pins and ideas and created a beautiful floral plan. She was honest when something wasn't going to work, which I totally appreciated it, and took so much pride in each detail leading up to the wedding. Cornelia was the master mind behind the flowers for my wedding, and did an over the top, unbelievable job. Although my wedding was a year ago, and I am just getting around to writing this review, she has stayed top of mind for me as every wedding I have been to since mine hasn't come close to the creativity and beauty she designed for my wedding. My fiancé and I met with Cornelia on April 22 at her studio in Chicago. We were scrambling to pick all of our vendors for our wedding before our upcoming move to Colorado, which was both scary and exciting. Planning a wedding from 1,000 miles away sounds daunting. Cornelia McNamara is a creative genius with florals and plants. She created two different centerpieces for our wedding at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum on Sept. 22, 2012. Half of the tables got collections and the others had lanterns with surrounding flowers. Both styles were stunning, lush and breathtaking! The bridesmaid bouquets dripped with romance and my bouquet, although it wasn't the exact shade of purple that I was expecting, turned out vibrant in photographs. When she heard I wasn't happy with some of the creative choices, such as my bouquet, she promptly sent a letter with a partial refund. I was so surprised by her professionalism and gesture. Cornelia recently did the floral arrangements for our wedding in Chicago. I spent a lot of time researching florists and Cornelia did not disappoint. She is very creative and clearly is very passionate about flowers which shows through her beautiful arrangements.
