Summer 2023 the doctor and his PA Robin Mercer assessed my situation and helped me plan for my TKR (total knee replacement). I planned a six month light work out to gain strength before the surgery. This whole experience has been amazing. I'm not sure what could have been better. The entire surgical team is absolutely the best. The day of the surgery was easy. I had only a week or so of walker and pain killers, after that it was just Tylenol and walking unassisted. Take this journey with the attitude that it's up to you manage your recovery, early PT and exercise both before and after surgery is key. This review is for the service and not even the surgery itself. The surgery never happened…read more My wife visited Dr. Sherwin Hua on 2/5/16 in the Fremont office for spine surgery. She decided to have spine surgery on her lower back. She had the worst patient care from this doctor and his staff. The doctor's assistant Vanessa originally told my wife the surgery may be performed toward the end of March. When she called back a week later, Vanessa changed it to 4/8/2016. After about the third week, she changed it again to 4/15/2016. My wife's surgery was approved by the insurance company on 3/3/16 and she will have 90 days to complete the procedure. My wife waited over a month and heard nothing. She called his office nonstop and left 2 to 3 messages every week, but no one return any of her calls or provided any updates. Vanessa does not answer her phone calls, return phone calls or follow up. My wife decided to email the doctor on 4/4/2016 to request a surgery date, and again no response. After seven weeks, my wife found out from Dr. Hu's new assistant Dawn that Vanessa was gone. Dawn told my wife that Vanessa never put her on the schedule and never informed anyone in the office of her situation. This was really upsetting since my wife waited so long to plan for the surgery. Dawn was proactive in the beginning, then she give my wife the same silent treatment just like Vanessa. She didn't answer her phones or return phone messages. When my wife finally got hold of Dawn, she just told her that she needed to check the doctor's schedule before she can provide an answer. So nine weeks has past and my wife is still waiting for a surgery date. My wife started calling other assistants and the other doctors in the office for an update. What she found out was infuriating and unprofessional. She was told that Dr. Hua is leaving the Fremont office and no one is taking over his patients. They told her that she will have to transfer all her records to the Santa Clara or Hayward office and to start the process over again even though her insurance company had already approved her surgery. She would have to wait another month before they can schedule her surgery with Dr. Hua. She was in shock. The doctor and his assistants didn't even bother to inform any of his patients about his moving. They kept postponing my wife's surgery without a word of explanation. They are sneaky and unprofessional. I would give this doctor no star or minus zero for the running of his practice. This was the worst patient service my wife ever experienced. She waited nine weeks without a surgery date. My wife immediately canceled her surgery or any interactions with this doctor. Avoid this doctor at all costs.

A few days after the operation after we got back home, my husband had a concern at midnight and Dr. Walsh returned our call within a few minutes. A few weeks after the surgery, my husband ended up back in the hospital due to a separate issue and Dr. Walsh continued to come by to check on him. He relayed with other doctors to ensure top care for my husband. After spending nearly a week in the hospital on two separate occasions in the past month, we've heard so many good things about Dr. Walsh from lots of the staff at O'Connor Hospital and at his private office. He has earned the respect of everyone around him. He's clearly someone who's working in his gifted area and his passion. He has been an angel to both of us as my husband went through a few different health issues. HE actually drew a pic of what the surgery might look like. And a small part of my colon would be removed for pathology. Turns out it was an extremely rare case - inverted appendix.So rare, that it was only the second time Dr Walsh had encountered one. It was a Learning experience for Dr. Walsh. He was in the process of selling his practice to the Daughter's of Charity(part of O'Connor Hospital) at the end of 2013. O'Connor is for sale now. Not sure if that has any bearing on Dr. Walsh's practice. I hope it doesn't. Highly recommended.

She told me to get an EEG, and after I had that done I went back to see her again, at which point she made recommendations as to how I could solve the problem. I saw her a few times, but now I won't be going back anymore because, thanks to her, my pseudoparkinsonism is all gone.

This also caused blood clotting in his lateral ventricles which is a bad place for clotting to happen deep in the brain. Dr Jeffrey Thomas was able to coil both aneurisms and remove the clotting in the ventricles as well, in one operation. This is no easy task by far if you are familiar with this type of brain operation. My father is alive and because of Dr Thomas and his staff my father now has a chance to live and recover. Dr Thomas and his staff have done their part and the rest of the recovery is now up to my father and his strength and will to get better. Since my initial visits, her office has been very clean, and her staff really helpful. I commend them on their prompt response and patient service. Always very helpful with appts., RX refills, email response... As for Dr. Jayakar, she has been a beacon in the web of care that one needs. She's very knowledgeable, great communications/bed side manner, patient, a good listener, direct, compassionate - she really cares about her patients. You can tell that she enjoys what she's doing. Additionally, she's innovative in her approach and recommendations, keeps up to date, well connected and known within the medical community, able to pick right back up at each appointment with all the details, good humored, approachable, encouraging, and friendly... I honestly cannot say enough about her. She has seen me through the good, bad, and ugly with my musculoskeletal trauma and chronic care needs.
