I have been a patient of Dr. Sunita Jayakar since 2009. Before I sing her highest praises as an amazing Doctor and integral part of my care management team, I'll comment on her front office team. Since my initial visits, her office has been very clean, and her staff really helpful. I commend them on their prompt response and patient service. Always very helpful with appts., RX refills, email response... As for Dr. Jayakar, she has been a beacon in the web of care that one needs. She's very knowledgeable, great communications/bed side manner, patient, a good listener, direct, compassionate - she really cares about her patients. You can tell that she enjoys what she's doing. Additionally, she's innovative in her approach and recommendations, keeps up to date, well connected and known within the medical community, able to pick right back up at each appointment with all the details, good humored, approachable, encouraging, and friendly... This review is for Dr. Rohit Jayakar. I had been to 3 different workers comp doctors before I fortunately found Dr. Jayakar. I suffered a multi trauma injury at work and all my previous doctors told me I was a "complex chronic pain patient" and there is nothing else they can do for me. Nothing else they could do for me yet they never even tried except prescribing me pain medications. I was told multiple times I needed to retire and my career was over.. I was 28 at the time. Dr. Rohit Jayakar was able to create a treatment plan, step by step, to rule in and out, where my pain was originating from and get to the root cause for each body part. The amount of time Dr. Jayakar invested in me and my well being, because he knew how important my job is to me, is astounding. He made an impact on my life that I will forever be grateful for. Under the care of Dr R. Jayakar - although my shoulder is recovering (6+ months)..I received 2 steroid injections from him. He has an assistant that helps him to take notes while you are in the room being examined. Dr was flexible and reasonable with your requests for wanting acupuncture and PT referrals. When you call his office, no one picks up the call but the calls are promptly returned at the end of the day. I find "emailing" will result in the quickest response. Poor care and consideration of patient time from Dr. S. Jayakar. Always waiting well beyond the scheduled appointment time (i.e., greater than 30 minutes) for the provider to show up to the appointment. Initial visit did not even get a full exam (less than 8 minutes of time with the dr) because they were so late and I had another appointment to go to that had been scheduled months prior to my appointment with JMG. My second appointment on that day was scheduled for more than a hour and a half after my first- the dr. kept me waiting for over a hour...my second visit with JMG (which I was told would be a brief follow up that could be done remotely on Zoom), Dr. S. Jayakar never showed up despite waiting for her for over 30 minutes. read more

While I was in the waiting room, another patient was leaving, talking to herself " This is such a great place!"; a big smile on her face. I thought to myself- okay, that's a good sign. Dr. Rohit Jayakar and his staff have been immensely instrumental to my muscle strain recovery. In May 2023, I injured my trapezius muscles pretty badly causing loss of strength and stiffness to my upper back and neck region. This injury devastated me, as I've always been physically healthy and in shape, & the pain also carried to different areas of my body. After months of PT & heartache, I was starting to lose hope that I would get better. Due to a change of circumstances, Dr. Jayakar became my primary doctor for my work related injury. He listened to every little complaint and pain I had and offered different suggestions as options to pursue in my recovery. It was my initial visit to meet and to be evaluated by Dr. Sunita Jayakar. I was never impressed with a doctor at the first visit but I was with her. Her in-depth knowledge and familiarity with my condition was just amazing. She was so efficient and so thorough and the suggested test and therapy was exactly what I was looking for. After my initial doctor "couldn't do anything else" (besides PT and acupuncture), I was referred to Dr. Jayakar's office. He performed a thorough exam and connected me with a great chiropractor, not one of the ones that are big on manipulation, but one that was able to get the movement back for my back injury and elbow injury. After a failed steroid injection, Dr. Jayakar used an ultrasound to guide it into the exact spot in my elbow and with some more PT, it got better. Dr. Jayakar of the Jayakar Medical Group has been a God-send. After being tossed around and frustrated by the workers compensation system, I have finally found a doctor whose on my team. Dr. Jayakar was the only physician to review my file in advance, and showed this by recounting in detail the events of my injury leading up to my appointment with her, as opposed to my retelling the events for the 100th time to yet another practitioner. The impeccable service from both she and her staff, was well worth the 37 mile drive to Mountain View. Dr. Jayakar has also been able to easily transfer and approve prescriptions even when I've been out of state. If you have been frustrated with the limited list of Berkshire Hathaway approved workers comp doctors to choose from, or if you are at the beginning of your healing process and want to avoid these frustrations altogether, Dr. Jayakar of the Jayakar Medical Group is the way to go. The medical group does have limited phone operating hours, but be patient, they're worth it. read more
