Love the food here, wife and I have eaten here over a dozen times, they deserve 5 stars but they've got one big problem; they don't know how to serve a hot meal. 75% of the time we've gone something has been sent back due to lack of temperature. This is usually restaurant with very good and prompt service. We arrived at 10 40 am for brunch and taken to our table immediately. After ordering it was 45 minutes before we was serve. The waitress was very attentive to fulling our drinks... In fact I had to ask her to hold off so I would have room to enjoy my Brunch. Prior to our food being served a manger apologized for the delay and offered a dessert. Please do not offer more food when you can not get my food I ordered out in a timely manner. This is by far one of my favorite places to eat! I am in love with the Chicken and Bacon Grits OMG. I have had this same dish with the smokehouse potatoes. Portion size is HUGE and I always have enough left for late dinner or lunch for the next day. Service is always great. We tend to go mid day on Sunday when it isn't very busy to avoid the West Knoxville crowds. The location is great. The outdoor patio area is great for kids. I recommend to anyone. read more

My wife and I are avid fans of the Copper brand of restaurants; we have celebrated 10 years of anniversaries at Copper Cellar. So when we heard about a new place opened by the same people we felt we could trust our gut. We live about an hour away and we're absolutely willing to make the drive, however after our first experience I must say we won't be back. We waited some time to be seated and our table was busses up next to the swinging kitchen door which made it difficult to sit still as we had to move a lot to get folks around us. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer which were perfection on a plate but our food took a little over 30 minutes to arrive after we had gotten our appetizer. My wife enjoyed hers (Chicken Salad Sandwich) but my daughter and son did not care for their food at all. I ordered the Fish and Chips which came breaded the way chicken strips do and not with beer-batter. My fish was also unfortunately very undercooked to the consistency of jelly or jam. There was also a fair amount of "silver skin" and scales left on the fish; needless to say it was inedible. My family and I are not ones to make waves so we immediately asked for a check and my family left hungry to sit in our car. It took 20 more minutes to get my credit card back; in total we were there for nearly 2 hours. By the time that I got in touch with the manager we didn't want to wait on a refund or as he offered to make us more food. We just paid and left disappointed. I will say the manager (Ryan) was very courteous and professional. 1/5 would not return, which is a drag because the menu is really good. read more

So disappointed! The location and atmosphere are great, I was hoping to want to come back often. We thought the omelettes seemed expensive at $8 for plain cheese (come with some fruit) plus up charges for additional items, but waitress said they were big and we decided to try two. First thought when it arrived was - well that's not so big, but they forgot the cheese on one! When we notified the waitress, she left and returned with a small cup of cold shredded cheddar. I've been here twice now. First visit, food was pretty good. A little pricey for the type of food they're serving, honestly. Good selection of their company brewed beers, however. Our server on the first visit was pretty good, a bit spacey though. Second, visit was total BS! We were greeted by the host, but then she started having a side conversation with the other host before she seated us. After being seated, we sat for at least 15 minutes with no type of acknowledgment whatsoever from a server. A table was seated shortly after us and they were taken care of immediately. My husband and I left after we saw that the other table was taken care of so quickly after we had been sitting there for so long with nothing. A server even walked by us at least 5 times in that same section and made eye contact, but never came over to help us. As we were walking out, at least 3 employees (including the host that seated us) told us to have a great evening - completely clueless to our experience. I really want to see this place do well! It's in a great location and I'm all about keeping it local. They need to get it together for sure! read more

We were so excited about the opening of this place, especially because we love Calhoun's and Copper Cellar so much. Don't get me wrong, the pretzels were great. But the person I was with go a BLT and Mac and cheese... pretty common thing, right? Their bacon tasted like soy bacon that was smoke flavored and their Mac and cheese was really watery and gunky. It wasn't good. I got the smothered chicken on the cheese grits and thank God I asked for the gravy on the side... the grits also tasted like smoke and the chicken was 90% breading. I hate that our food wasn't good because this place had so much potential!! Our server was lovely and very accommodating. The Banana pudding wasn't bad at all either, even though we waited 25 minutes after our meal for it. I don't think we'll be going back though :( read more

Out of all the restaurants owned by this company, this one was a HUGE disappointment. Calhouns, Copper Cellar, Chesapeakes...they're all fabulous. The atmosphere in this place is open and loud, not cozy and inviting. The service was great, but the food was mediocre at best, which seemed to be the general consensus from our party of twelve. I had a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Both had absolutely no flavor. The chicken was a rubbery mess, and tasted as such. A friend had the chicken tenders and he stated that the frozen ones he buys at Kroger taste so much better. I wasn't impressed at all. If you're in that area, I would highly recommend Aubrey's over this place. The food and atmosphere are so much better there. Rather than branching out to establish a new restaurant, another Calhouns would've been a better idea. read more

Not as clunky and "SportsBar-ish" as the nearby Double Dogs, nor as polished as the equally close by Aubrey's, C16 is a perfect juxtaposition of casual and more upscale operations. The food selection is nothing short of astounding, dominated by a section clearly labeled as "Comfort Foods". The bar area is very nice and the soon to be opened patio area should be awesome. Todd and his team are still polishing service details, but our two initial ventures were both really well done and I highly recommend Corner 16 to my West Knoxvillian friends. read more

This place is located in a quiet corner, so not many people have figured out about this gem. The food was delicious. I ordered the BLT and was very pleased. They cut their own bacon and it's in thick slices. I ordered the sweet potato fries to go with it and they were good too. The BLT and fries are kind of a lot for one person for lunch, but great for someone who is hungry. I sat outside under their covering during lunch. They have a cement patio for dining, but I bet it's really live at night. They have a fire pit and people can stand and socialize, play cornhole, watch a sports game and just chill. So so so good. The dreamsicle drink they created is wonderful. They also have a wild cherry concoction and that is just as good. As for the food, I've had several things. I'm not from the South but the comfort food they serve is amazing. The smothered chicken was juicy and bomb, and make sure you get it with the mac and cheese because that stuff was off the charts. I also had the wedge salad which was perfectly created. My daughter ate the chicken and dumplings off the kids menu and she scarfed it down. Obviously I stole a few bites and wanted her food. I live so close so I'll be back many many times due to the convenience, the service and the ambiance. Cool patio that they are building should be perfect for summer nights. And all the tvs will make football season great, hopefully they play USC (Trojans) games ;). read more

It is a fun bar environment restaurant. I would give a 5 star for the bar. Tv's everywhere. Fun environment. Great staff. Fun corn hole and outdoor space for bar. Inside eating. I won't be back. We ordered the Bacon on a Stick appetizer. It was basically thick sliced bacon, but it was all fat. And who eats a big slab of bacon fat? That was just a waste of $8.50. We ordered the Smothered Chicken and side of mushrooms. It was really good. If I went again, I would order this. We ordered the Beef Brisket which came with a side of woodshed potatoes and a second side I chose the Tomato Pie. The third dish we ordered was the Monte Crisco. No one liked the Monte Cristo at all. The Tomato Pie was good. The Beef Brisket was good, but it had so much fat in the slices you couldn't hardly find a piece of meat that wasn't saturated with fat. We finished with a Orange-sicle Drink. Our waiter was great. He said it doesn't look like she made this right. We tried it and it was bitter. He had the bartender make another which was better. Love the other restaurants in this parent company. We won't be back to Corner 16, other than for the bar. The $60 meal was just not worth it. We had a wonderful server though. I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time now. In July we had some friends pass through town from Texas. They wanted to go somewhere local that they had never been before... Corner 16 came to mind. Because we were going to be a large group I called ahead and they told me I could not make a reservation however, the manager took my name and number and told me he would give me a call back around the time we wanted to eat and let me know what the wait looked like for a party our size. I was shocked when I actually got a phone call back from him and he told me that they would be able to accommodate our large party!! We made our way over to the restaurant and were seated immediately. The manager even came out to greet us and brought along one of the kitchen staff! We were so impressed with the service and attention to detail. The food was absolutely delicious as usual. One of my favorite meals here is the California chicken... although I've never had anything bad from the menu! Well done Corner 16!!! read more
