Corner 16 - Off Northshore Drive at Pellissippi Parkway
    Richard S.

Corner 16 is off my list of restaurants that I recommend. Had some people in town for the game Saturday and took them for dinner after the game. They had never been to a Corner 16 restaurant. I told the waiter when we sat down that I wanted the check for the whole table. The waiter allowed my guest to pay at the register behind my back. Dear Copper Cellar family of restaurants, learn to know your customer and you should have listened to the customer clad in orange and white and not the one wearing crimson. I'm guessing the tab for dinner was about $200 for the table. Good luck getting that again next year, because Alabama won't be in town. In the mean time, you pissed off a loyal customer who has always recommended the Copper Cellar family of restaurants. It isn't a lot of money to you. I probably only spend about $5,000 a year with your chain, but I am done. I will still take lunch at Chesapeake's West because I know the bartender, Suzy Cole, will follow my requests and treat me well when I am there. Meanwhile, Corner 16, which is only a mile from my house, you will lose out the most. I hope the corporate office gives you some training sessions on identifying your client base. VOL FAN FOR LIFE, former Copper Cellar customer.

Corner 16 is a gem! This is my third time going but my first review. The food, service, and ambiance of this restaurant is great. They also have a beautiful indoor/outdoor space perfect for the summer time and heated and cozy during the winter. We will be back soon for more good eats.

Stopped here on our drive back home and had a wonderful lunch. Our waitress, Sami, was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Seared Ahi Salad. The tuna was delightfully spiced and seared. The salad was very fresh. My wife ordered the meatloaf with blue cheese slaw. The slaw was creative and just amazing. This is definitely becoming a go to place for us.

The best onion rings you will ever taste

I have been a lover of onion rings for the past 50 plus years, but I've never found onion rings quite like these in both substance and taste. Corner I6 onion rings are indeed, hands down, positively, absolutely, unequivocally, unquestionably, unreservedly the best I have ever tasted!!!! These are not your run-of-the-mill oily or greasy kind. They are not the kind where you take the first bite and the entire onion slips out of the ring, leaving you with nothing more than a breaded ring in your hand. They are delicately breaded in a wonderful battered mixture of spices that is guaranteed to tantalize even the blandest palate. I could go on and on in my description, but you get the picture. To complement my onion rings I ordered the Wedge Salad which also belongs in a premier category all its own. The serving size is at least a third of a head of lettuce with outrageously tasty bleu cheese dressing and bleu cheese crumbles topped with delicious bacon pieces. Micaela was our server who was pleasant and attentive throughout our meal. She is a positive asset to this restaurant.

First visit to this location. We were seated right away outside since it was a beautiful night. Service was quick to see us and took drink order then on to dinner. I decided to try the turkey and dressing with a side of cream corn. The dinner was great and loved the cream corn. The outside area is unique with a large pavilion area in the middle with roof and garage type doors that can be closed if it rains or cold. Three sides are extra tables and play areas for adults and kids. Corn-hole boards set up in two of the areas. Also have a couple of fire pits outside. Inside is very nice. Great place to bring friends or family when in the area. Also good if you have younger kids cause you can turn them loose outside in their area. We will be regulars here.

Went with a big group for a friend's birthday party. We got there and everyone else was already seated. The hostesses had no idea if our party was there and were like "just look around". We found everyone outside. Ordered our beverages after about 15 minutes and ordered some appetizers shortly after. The rest of the group had ordered appetizers prior to us getting there and those still took a good while. They were delicious (the fried green tomatoes were good, stuffed jalapeños, cheese and sausage appetizer and the loaded tots) and I ordered an avocado awesome burger not realizing it was a veggie burger. It was underwhelming when it arrived. 3 tiny slivers of avocado and giant pieces of onion not even fitting into the bun. I even tried to fix the onion before I took a picture of it and it still looked sad. It would probably have tasted better if it was hot and not mildly warm with congealed pepper Jack cheese on it. The macaroni looked like it was stacked on top of another and flat on the top and pretty cold too. Fortunately my kids were too busy playing outside with the big exercise balls and some other kids that were there so they didn't notice it was squished and cold. (I tried to mix it up a bit so in the picture the flat part on the left is what it all looked like when it arrived at our table.) Overall, the appetizers were good. My dinner was mediocre so I am giving 4 stars (rounded up from 3.5) for the benefit of the doubt since we had a large party. If it was just us and my food took that long and my meal was so mediocre I would give it 3 stars. Even though I don't eat much meat and usually like vegetarian options, I would definitely not order the "awesome burger" again.

All I can remember is the onion rings are thin and not circles; more like strings. They have a light crispy coating. They are delicious!

The bagels are light and chewy, not bready, and even the plain bagel has a great flavor. We find the celery salt and sometimes the everything bagels to be saltier than we enjoy, but your mileage may vary. The sesame, plain, jalapeño cheddar, pumpernickel, and honey wheat are awesome. The seasonal pumpkin bagel was excellent, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we get blueberry once they're in season. If you get a bagel sandwich, I'd recommend sticking with a plain bagel to let the filling shine. We usually get the Potchke delight (add avocado, it's worth it), and my husband loves the beef bacon. They have upgraded from egg patties to small folded omelettes in their breakfast sandwiches. They just rolled out mobile ordering at this location, and I did my first order today. Fridays are always very busy there, but my order was ready way before the time estimate, and they made my coffee fresh once I checked in with the lady at the pickup area. I was very impressed! They have been really good about making changes to improve wait times (like adding a second person taking orders with a handheld card reader and expanding next door to allow a designated line area), and mobile ordering is a game changer for me. The employees are always wonderful even though they are super busy and dealing with a lot of people. Everyone seems happy to be there, and I hope that's a reflection of the owners treating their people well. Yes, the prices may seem high for bagels, but in my opinion it's totally worth it. I'd rather have a stellar bagel once a month than grocery store bagels every week. (Now if only they would also serve their matzo ball soup and borscht at this location, my life would be complete!)

I ordered the day's special, a Reuben sandwich with 1 side for $14.99. I settled for ice water as my drink that came from a beverage container on the counter where I helped myself. For almost $15, I expected a large sandwich filled with pastrami, cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island on rye. Well, it came with all the goodies, yet the sandwich was quite small. My Very Berry side consisted of a styrofoam container filled with only a quarter-cup of berries. Overall, the food and service were excellent. However, my total bill came to $17.38 which is pricey for the size of the sandwich and little bowl of berries.

There's a side of beef on those buns, hamburger buns, not mine, at least not until after a few more visits. I ordered the SEC burger. It was full of perfectly grilled onions, an ample amount of bacon, cheddar cheese, and let's not forget the chunk of meat. The saying "the South shall rise again" is befitting, for the SEC surely rose to the occasion. My son-in-law ordered the Double Vol. Vol as in volunteer, but it could have stood for the abbreviation vol, as in VOLUME! Even after cutting his burger in half, he had difficulty arranging which angle to tackle the behemoth. After a couple of attempts, he finally got a handle on the thing and made quick work of it. He mentioned that a snake would have had a hard time getting its mouth around that burger. Even after dislocating its jaw! The boy loved the challenge as much as he loved the burger. Fries galore come with your burger selection. There is plenty enough to bring home in a box with what burger you may have left over. Now, let me discuss the milkshake bar. Sorry, but I can't. I wanted one big time. But my daughter reminded me that we had Buttermilk Sky Pie waiting for us back at the house. It won out this time. But my next visit to S and A's will include a milkshake without doubt. I did see a number of folks enjoying theirs. They all had smiles. There are plenty of tables and a huge TV, so you can bring the neighborhood with you. Don't worry about parking, there's plenty of that too. I bet this place rocks during a big game. True, southern hospitality greets you at the order counter. These folks were happy, polite, and smiling. They stayed that way as they came by to check up on you, making sure that your Sam and Andy's experience is a good one. Did they cater to my every whim? Well, every whim associated with food. I didn't pressure them. After all, it was only my first visit. Quick Tip: They serve Coca-Cola products. I didn't know what to get. My daughter suggested an Arnold Palmer. What the heck is that I asked. Lemonade and ice tea, she said. I opted for the Tiger Woods. Water.....( think about it before you "hazzard" a guess ).

Located in an established strip mall by a high-traffic intersection at Kingston Pike and S. Peter's, Greens and Grains is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. The interior is spotlessly clean (including the restrooms!) and comprised of two connected dining areas and kitchens. One has a trendy, airy feel with cool green and white tones, while the other is darker with metal and wood elements, a game area, and a large open grill/prep area. The reason for the two different vibes was not immediately clear to me. Actually, it never became more clear during the hour or so I spent there, but I can appreciate a good mystery. This is NOT a fast food joint. In fact, it is slow. Agonizingly slow if you're in a hurry. This is a place to come when you are with a group of people you find highly entertaining (or when you heft along a great book) and don't mind waiting. After ordering two sandwiches and sides, my friend and I waited almost 20 minutes for our food to appear at our table. The macaroni salad was pleasantly flavorful, without the overcooked noodles and runny sauce so often found with this deli counter staple. The turkey and Brie was also good and grilled to buttery-crisp perfection. The sandwich, side, and a drink cost just under $20, so it's neither bargain-priced nor exotic, but fresh ingredients are not cheap. Only one employee was working in each of the two halves of the restaurant, so I imagine if they want to speed up their service, they are going to need to schedule more people. The two employees were both delightfully friendly, though, and they aren't just paying lip service to customer service, a goal plainly outlined on all the napkin dispensers and evidenced by their actions. Despite the slow service, I'm giving them a 5 for their dedication to quality ingredients and excellent customer service. I hope they make it for the long haul, and I'll definitely be back soon.
