Elvis burger and Mac and cheese
    Shea S.

We came here in a busy Friday night in the market area. We had a nice table on the patio. I had the Elvis burger. It was very unique and I truly enjoyed it. I also had the Mac and cheese as my side and definitely recommend that. The fries did look good as well.

Elk burger with a fried green tomato and onion rings

Friendly and helpful waitstaff. Only slightly gamey elk but enjoyable. Fried green tomato was delicious and onion rings were a mix of crispy and extra crispy

Classic cheeseburger with onion rings. Mushroom burger with french fries

The food was delicious, but the restaurant was very crowded. Everyone is seated elbow-to-elbow, so don't expect a lot of personal space.

Stock & Barrel in Knoxville absolutely lived up to expectations. I ordered the bison burger with duck fat Parmesan fries, and I can confidently say it was the best burger I've had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and stacked with high-quality ingredients. You can really tell this place takes pride in their burgers... there's over 15 unique burgers on the menu! If you're anywhere near Knoxville, Stock & Barrel is a must-visit.

Stock & Barrel in Market Square has great burgers and fries, friendly service and a relaxed ambiance. They have indoor tables and bar seats and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seats have infrared heaters for colder weather. Their burgers were really good and the fries and onions rings tasted great with good seasoning. We will definitely be back!

Amazing! First of all, they have an incredible whiskey and bourbon selection. Very impressive back bar which gives it a unique gastropub feel. Great downtown location with both indoor and outdoor seating. Bison burger medium was very tasty! Love the fresh cut French fries. We also had the Chicken and Waffles with fries which was also very good and I highly recommend if you are looking for something other than a burger. Very large portions, so make sure you come hungry! Wonderful and quick service! Definitely will recommend to anyone visiting and will always remember the burger and fries.

Came here on a Sunday, it had just snowed the night before so the restaurant wasn't super busy, but it still had a good crowd. We had heard of this place for a while and wanted to check it out and we're so glad we did. The food and service were amazing. Walking in it's a narrow restaurant, that has a bar on one side and tables on the other with kinda a rustic feel to it. We were seated immediately and our drink orders were taken. Since we hadn't been there before we got water and then pursued the menu a little for drinks. I had a question between two drinks and the server was very good at describing the drinks and ultimately decided to try the Darryl Strawberry, while my husband got the Nor'easter. The drinks came out and they were really good. They weren't overly strong, you could taste the bourbon in each of them, but it wasn't overpowering. For food we got the OPA! to start and then the Billy for me and the Mother Clucker for him. The OPA was awesome. It's pan seared feta with honey and served with fresh bread. The honey added a little extra sweetness to the feta which went really nicely with the crusty bread. The Billy had goat cheese, bacon, onions and, a tomato jam on it. It was delicious. The creamy goat cheese with the bacon and smokey tomato jam all went amazingly together. I got onion rings as my side, which were crunchy hot and so so good. The Mother Clucker was also really good. I only had a bite of it to try, but was definitely impressed. My husband upgraded to the duck fat fries which were out of this world. Super crunchy, great flavor. Our server kept checking back on us the whole time making sure we were satisfied with our drinks and food, but we had absolutely no complaints. This is a great place for a date if you want good food or to hang out with friends. We will definitely be back.

This is a MUST place to eat in Knoxville, it's busy and tight but flows well enough that it's not a issue. The bar look amazing with a ton of bourbon gems but I'm currently sober. I started with the wedge salad and it immediately became the greatest wedge I've ever tasted at 1st bite, I'd honestly come here everyday just for this $11 dollar gem. We ordered the Elvis and the Bernie burger, both amazing and full of flavor. Aside from the burger you get a mountain of fries. You will be hurtin for certain but walking away say "Wow"

    Bison Burger

This place came highly recommended as one of the burger spots around. It definitely did not dissapoint! I'm a bit of a burger snob and it's not the singular best burger I have ever had which is the only reason I'm not going for the 5 star. That being said you'd be crazy not to give their burgers a try. I got the Ring of Fire and it was incredibly tasty. The black bean and corn salsa was unique and added everything that I hoped it would. My colleague got the bison burger and reported it being one of the best he's had. The restaurant was packed, and to be fair their was a big conference in town. We got lucky enough to snag two bar seats and had prompt service despite the absolutely full to the brim state of things. It was a bit noisy because it was all packed, but at least it was just full of happy patrons. Oh yea, don't forget to get the duck fat fries. Yum. Definitely give it a shot!

Must-visit burger spot in Market Square! Full stop, this is among the best burger restaurants I've ever experienced! The interior is fine, but the food is truly a SHOW-STOPPER. Huge size, but the ingredients really amplify each burger. Excellent cheeses, spicy peppers, hearty sauces, toasty buns, and great meat patties w/ variety (beef, bison, elk, etc). Every bite was exquisite, and the side onion rings and duck fat fries added to the enjoyment. We loved it all!

The Bacon Burger with Onion rings!!! Huge portion and so good! Cooked to perfection!!

Came for a late dinner at an event downtown, sat at the bar, Garret was our bartender/server. He was absolutely the best. The drinks were great and the food was even better!! Service was 10/10!!!

This place is a super cute vibe, but a little small. We came on a Thursday with 4 of us and it was only 5 minute wait. The beer was a little warm, but I like that they have partnered with a local brewery. We had the mother clucker sandwich and regular fries with an additional side of onion rings. The onion rings were awesome, lightly breaded and not too greasy. The fries were good, and the chicken sandwich was really good, I just wish the breading or the chicken were seasoned a little more. My favorite thing was the pickles my daughter got on the side of her burger, you could tell they were made in house and super fresh. We will come back and hopefully have just as good of an experience.

I had the Bernie today. This was my first meal of the day and probably my last, HUGE burger, definitely big enough to share the burger and side if you're with someone. I was able to split the side--half onion rings and half fries. The fries were good but the onion rings were incredible. The star of the show was the Bernie, the burger of all burgers, the perfect pick for if you don't know what you want---get this. A little spicy from the jalapeños, a little sweet from the jam, and the pure savory deliciousness from the burger...wow. Amazing.

'Merican burger with no mayo. Fantastic. Onion rings have very unique texture. Not just great burger in Knoxville. Great burger anywhere.

Never been to Downtown Knoxville, where is the best place to park fo Stock & Barrel? Thanks for the help!

The Market Square Garage Parking is literally right behind it and is the cheapest one I've found. :) always park there when I go around that area.

We are passing through town and want to eat dinner here. Would this be an okay place to bring a 15 year old on a Monday night at 6:30 or so? I saw it has a “No” listing for kids but I’m assuming that means small children later/weekends.

Hi! This is a bar type restaurant. I see nothing wrong with bringing a teenager for dinner on Monday night. However, I'd recommend u call them now for a reservation. Theirs wait time is ridiculous, even for a weekday dinner outing!

I kept trying to engage her and even complemented her cute dress. Nothing. Stone face. I wanted to try the amaro flight and asked for it. She prepared it, set it in front of me, and said "so you'll want to close out now?" I told her "yes, that would be great, when I'm finished with my tasting". She proceeded to lean up against the bar with her back to us and didn't say another word. I had to get up and walk to the register, and when she finally turned around, I asked her "have we done something to upset you?" She said "no, why?" I said "because you seem REALLY annoyed that we're here". Her only response was to turn the register screen around and tell me the total. In fact, word has it that the bar is named after the owners' dog, Monkey, so it makes sense that they pass along their pup love to our community. Note that huge (but very sweet) dogs may be freely roaming and were knocking into people carrying full drinks and begging strangers for food. Also, we were with a group across from the bar and I will say that it was absolutely deafening. We were next to each other and were yelling, "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW!?"
