The hours at this store are impressive - 8am to 8pm 7 days a week. The owners are definitely hard workers! I didn't meet Janet but Roy was to the point when I asked questions. A bushel is $36, and a half bushel is $18. A half bushel bag is a lot smaller than the box that they call a bushel, so we decided to buy a bushel. You can fill the box up with whichever apples you want. They have a big selection of apples, including some I'd never heard of (eg, Virginia Gold). Roy was attentive and told me when the box was full and that I should stop adding apples. It wasn't quite all the way to the top, but it was still a good deal. If I'm in the area, I'll probably stop by again!

We tried some Evercrisp apples which at the time of writing this review, I've only had 2 out of my bag so far, but they might just be the best apples I've ever had. We also got some donuts and some hot cider. They had small sample cups of the cider and that's what convinced us to start buying stuff. They have a couple tables out front but they fill up fast. Pies, smoothies, trifles, ice cream. Yum!! We purchased a bushel of apples on our last visit, which we cored/peeled/sliced using an inexpensive gadget from Target or Ace Hardware(?). Froze on cookie sheets then transferred to gallon bags. We bought some that were a bit soft for pie--maybe because we froze them?--but are great dehydrated (for us & our dogs!) or made into apple butter. (Pies? Ask for the firmest apple.)
