It's one of the few places to get a bite near Percha Dam State Park and the hours vary by day of the week (and, perhaps, depending on the season). We were fortunate to find the Arrey Cafe open on a Friday evening and it was busy! We were immediately served chips and salsa. They were out of fried chicken so we opted for the green chile cheeseburgers (1/4 or 1/2 pound), which came with fries. Excellent burger! To quench our parched throats, we had enormous arnold palmers (1/2 iced tea, 1/2 lemonade). Several different fresh pies-by-the-slice were available for dessert (I had apple and it was delicious). The prices are reasonable and the wait staff was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!

Chicken fried steak with green chile instead of gravy (because in NM it's acceptable to put green chile on everything)

We love this place for breakfast on the weekends. I especially like it, as the full menu is available all day - that means I don't have to eat eggs for breakfast :) Lots of New Mexican specialties (I'm a fan of the relleno and pinto beans), menudo on weekends and steaks on Friday night. It's out in the small town of Arrey, but worth the drive or a great pit stop if driving thru. Cash only (there is an atm next door at the market).

Salsa & Chips waiting for us at the table and all we had to do was squirt the salsa from the catsup type containers into a bowl. 4 Stars The 6 six of us ordered a variety of food from the menu: Chicken Fried Steak w/ Fries (two orders) 3 Stars Burger & Fries 3 Stars Combination Burrito 1 Star (nothing like the picture that caused her to order it. Bland unseasoned ground beef and beans.) Chile Relleno Plate 4 Stars Tamale Plate 4 Stars Fish n Chips 4 Stars They also gave us a free slice of german chocolate cake for dessert! 5 Stars. We all enjoyed our meals, except for the Burrito. Either get rid of the photo or make the burrito look like it and season a little better. Service was good. Old school building. I recommend.

Huevos Rancheros with Christmas. This also comes with toast or tortillas.

Great local cafe for a good burrito and Agustin Fresca.. Generous portions and red and green Chile makes a perfect combination.

They cook very good food and will accommodate you if you need something not on the menu. I walked in just before closing and they offered to cook me something just the same. I came back the next day for their fried catfish and hushpuppies (made with green chilis). My vegetarian friend was provided vegetarian soup the night before, and fixed a salad and improvised quinoa dish with vegies when we went back. They go the extra mile. Very good folks! Wish I could have gone back on Derby Day to see what bourbon concoctions they had. :)

The biscuits and gravy were excellent, which isn't easy for most kitchens to achieve. The eggs and bacon were great, too, prepared as I had ordered them. Staff were the owners, who were super friendly and the food came quickly. The interior is that of a small town diner put into what was probably a house at some point. It was clean, a little kitschy, and quiet the morning we were in. It's nice to see them making a go of it with a restaurant and being up to the task of succeeding. Great stop on our motorcycle rides out that way. Sorry, didn't take pics, but it was appetizing.

There's a small u shaped bar seating and larger dining areas on either side . I noticed a couple of ribbons on the counter and he mentioned his salsa , red chili snd BBQ has won local awards . He brought out a complimentary basket of chips and green Hatch chili salsa to start . Oh boy! This was the best salsa! Tasty with a kick but not too spicy . My daughter scooped up every last bit. He suggested the special burrito. ($13?) I took his advise and got it . It was humongous! Definitely enough to share . My daughter wanted the salmon dinner which was standard fare so, she helped me eat my burrito instead . My burrito was way better . It had everything but the kitchen sink in it . Sooo good . Even though we ate until we were full , we still had 1/2 a burrito left! (Ate the rest for breakfast the next day !) Glad we found this gem driving through on our road trip. * The owners Hatch chili salsa should be sold in jars !

Bigfoot burger and rosemary fries 1000/10 Cashew chicken, which came with a choice of rice (I got fried), sautéed vegetables (delicious) and an award-worthy egg roll. Chicken was good, but not as good as the burger. I think they use chicken breast, I'm more used to having thighs in these types of dishes. Just a personal preference. The egg roll, however was delicious. Two pints (and then two more) of the hef on draft to seal the deal. In short: go if you get a chance, go without any hesitation! Food is delicious, the venue is very cute and service is incredibly attentive and speedy! You won't regret it!

(Never got used to the cold version in Boston.) It was a mixture of lobster and other seafood but quite nice. My side was a green salad with a vinaigrette dressing and it was really fresh and good. My dinner companion had the truffle fries as his side. I couldn't resist stealing a few from his plate and they were very tasty. He ordered a Santa's Nightcap seasonal cocktail made with eggnog, rum, coffee liquer, whipped cream, and topped with a gingerbread man! I had an espresso martini. It was fine. I have nothing to compare it to since it was my first. The inside was nice but a bit on the small side. The booths had been reserved so we sat at a table in the middle of the room. The woman who waited on us was very welcoming. I must also mention the dog-friendly patio, complete with heat lamps. It looked magical decorated with hundreds of tiny lights. This restaurant is definitely a place to try. You can't miss it due to the giant Bigfoot statue on the sign in front!
