It was a first time experience biting into an eggroll that had a range from avocado to shrimp to burger meat. When I went there, the different types of flavors presented were: the traditional vietnamese roll, a crab rangoon roll, in & out roll, taco roll, shrimp roll, bacon & egg roll, and avocado roll. It was super hard to choose just a couple to try out, so instead I just got the sampler which is where you get each roll. My personal favorite would have to be either the avocado or taco roll. When eating the avocado roll, it tasted very fresh and vibrant. In the avocado roll there's onion, tomato, and cilantro. All combined makes an amazing roll to enjoy with all friends and family. What I'm most shocked about is that the rolls are never soggy and are not burnt. The workers at the local farmers market were a pleasure to meet. When waiting you could jam out to their music which is what I did. Fillings like bacon and scrambled egg, a cheese burger, or ham with mozzarella and pineapple. Various "dips" including thousand island dressing or a garlic chili sauce add to the fun and flavor. The fillings, tasty. No complaints except the excessive use of MSG. The execution, flawed. 1. Rolls are precooked and served at room temp on a huge bed of cut cabbage. The wrapper isn't very crisp rather chewy and any hint of crispness is lost with the moisture from the cabbage. 2. The "Sampler", all six rolls for $15, did not include sauces. They have help yourself squeeze bottles and little plastic containers that you fill yourself. SERIOUSLY, in the COVID era? 3. Very poor communication skills. Maybe they are afraid of customers? Me: "Hey, I saw you on Frolic and had to check you out". Cashier: "You saw that?" Crickets.... The end result, who knows what sauce goes with what roll? They also gave me a variety of dipping sauces like spicy mayo, sweet and sour, salsa, and sour cream. I really like how these eggrolls were crunchy and crispy without being drenched in oil. The filling was still soft and tasted fresh. Kudos to the fryer for doing such a great job because I hate dry and burnt eggrolls. I enjoyed all the rolls but my two favorites were the Hawaiian Roll and the In & Out Roll. The Hawaiian Roll tastes exactly like a Hawaiian pizza. The mozzarella and ham hit your tongue first and then the bits of pineapple come in for a finishing burst of sweetness. Biting into the In & Out Roll brought back memories of California. The filling tasted exactly like a Double Double. The ground beef, cheese, and onions just blend really well together. They sell six different flavors of spring rolls and a sampler of all six. I ordered the sampler to try all flavors. Below is my review for each flavor. Yes Please Roll (Vietnamese pork, shrimp, and veggies) 3 of 5 - flavor wasn't really pronounced. More shrimp and pork needed. B.A.E. Roll (Bacon and egg) 2 of 5 - missing something, maybe some cheese should be added. Shrimply Irresistible (Shrimp and Basil) 3 of 5 - wait...there was basil? I though it was just a battered piece of shrimp. Hawaiian Roll (ham, mozzarella, and pineapple) 2 of 5 - this isn't "Hawaiian" at all. I suggest kalua pork. Let's Avocuddle Roll ( Avocado, Sun-dried tomato, red onion and cilantro) 4 of 5 - I like avocado. Couldn't taste the tomato with the strong flavor of the onion. In and Out Roll (Beef, American Cheese, and Grilled Onion) 4 of 5 - simple but good. It's a cheeseburger roll. Overall, these spring rolls are too small. You can't really get a good taste of all the flavors. Half is the spring roll wrap and half the filling. The rolls need to be a bigger size with more filling. Also, the rolls are overpriced at $3 a roll. I would say anything $2 or less would be priced well. If you get the sampler, it's still $2.50 per roll. Also, with the sampler, you are also given all the sauces. It would help to know which sauce is appropriate for which roll. I figured it out by tasting all the sauces. Just my 2¢. read more
