This was my first visit here. The guy at the counter recommended the brisket pastrami Rayz way. The sandwich lived up to the hype. The meat was so tender that it was immediately absorbed into my bloodstream! The bread was just barely toasted; perfect IMO. The other ingredients were complimentary players. The place itself is almost barn-like and there is an endless supply of potato chips and not much else. There are a couple of tables outside, but it wouldn't be adequate for a large group of people.

I'm always on the hunt for a great Italian sub. Saw this on the gram and the wife and I decided to visit. I got the Italian King and she ordered the Brisket pastrami. I have to say that, next to Baycities, this is the best Italian sub I've had anywhere in the LA area. Absolutely amazing. Bread is fresh and more like a hard roll which I prefer. The gentleman working (maybe the owner) checked on each table to ensure the food was good. The level of care reflects how good the food is. Very impressed and I'll make the drive out from DTLA again soon.

Took me a while to post a review because I was torn between 4 and 5 stars. I think in the end, the great service won me over. Definitely small business vibe with very friendly service. Heard about the place on social and happened to be in Glendale so stopped by. Parking is tight, but we got lucky with street parking which is 30 mins just in front of the store. They have two dedicated spots in front as well. We tried the smokin pastrami breakfast sandwich which was magnificent and can easily feed two. Fluffy light bread and perfect mix of meat, eggs, avocado and cheese. Five stars for sure. Make sure to get there before noon to try it out. Also tried the #8, pastrami Rays Way which was recommended as one of the sandwiches that put them on the map. I really wasn't a fan. Really wanted the pastrami to stand out, but it got lost in the sandwich and didn't really taste the meat until I deconstructed it but then was a pretty skinny sandwich :) unlike the breakfast sandwich which you don't expect the pastrami to stand out as much, this sandwich was supposed to pop with pastrami. Did I get a smaller portion than normal or just too much lettuce and aioli? Flavors were there, so will be back but may have to try the classic #6 real deal pastrami with just mustard and see if that turns me around. Definitely worth the trip and good luck with parking. Seem like they will take phone orders as well for quick in and out.

Very solid sandwiches. I think the bread is their secret sauce. The crust has a really nice texture that gives it a satisfying chew when you bite into it. I ordered the brisket pastrami, which was tender and tasty. It actually tasted more like regular brisket since it didn't have the heavy pepper or pink color from the curing salt. The horseradish aioli dressing gave it a nice sharp and creamy finish. Also tried the Italian King, which was also delicious. Again nothing really special about the sandwich filling. The bread is where it's at. Will definitely be back if I am in the area.

What a pleasant surprise. After an afternoon of shopping at the Galleria having a satisfying sandwich was an added bonus to the day. I had the Spicy Italiano which has ham and salami. The sandwich was filled with goodness and very tasty. They have two parking spaces available. I will definitely come back here.

Driving back to San Diego, I was really craving a sandwich that wasn't Subway or Jersey Mike's. I saw photos of these subs and knew I had to try out this place. I'm a firm believer that Deli's/Dub shops inside a market or corner store are always amazing and often times better than other brick and mortars! The people working were so incredibly kind, and it was awesome to shop around a bit for chips and snacks while I waited. I ordered the Pastrami Rayz Way; anytime a sub is named after someone, I figured it must be good and boy was I right! A very generous portion of tender brisket pastrami was piled on soft toasted bread, with gooey melted Swiss, crunchy pickles, fresh shredded lettuce, and a horseradish aioli. I love the tangy flavor of pickles and horseradish, so I think it could lean a little deeper in those flavors, but overall it was an incredible sandwich! I think I'll add jalapeño to it next time to give it a little kick. Please come here and get a sub - you'll be glad you did!

This place was really great. We ordered the 15 hour brisket got extra meat costed five dollars more total in a whopping $25 for an 8 inch sandwich other than the prices. The place was very accessible tight parking so if you have a large vehicle beware other than that great service great food high prices only downfall.

Another sandwich shop getting some good love on SM, so I went in for a visit. This place used to be Armen's Market not too long ago, and before that I think it was a Korean market. Regardless, now it's the Corner Market and they have made a mark in the Sandwich business. First off, parking is very difficult unfortunately. Corner Market is on a residential street so it's tough to park close. When I finally found a spot, I made it in and ordered the Spicy Italiano - the #2 most popular sandwich here. You can smell the freshness of the bread through the wrapper. It's a simple sandwich but it has big flavor. The bread is crunchy, the meat is tasty and it also wasn't dripping with goo, making it very easy to eat. Another good sandwich is the Brisket Pastrami Rayz Way. 15hr smoked brisket, shredded lettuce, Swiss cheese, pickles, mustard & mayo. I've also tried The Trio Sandwich - Black Forest Ham, Smoked Turkey, Bacon and Swiss. In addition, they also sell Rusty's chips, which are amazing. The Corner Market appears to be a two person operation. One making the sandwiches and the other taking the orders. I've been here twice now and it can take a bit of time to order and get your food. Not the friendliest service but it is what it is. They have a few tables outside and inside. Regardless, the eatings good at the Corner Market.

I feel mildly regretful for not coming here sooner. So many times I've driven by, wondering about this place (right off of Pacific Avenue and a few ticks from the 5 Freeway). Once, I tried to come on a Sunday, post arrival into Bob Hope. Failed there. Business not open on Sundays. Then luck would have it. A good friend offered to get me from Bob Hope (Tuesday arrival - no Sunday arrival curse this time). I offered him two options in Glendale and he picked Corner Market - luckily for us. We ordered the Spicy Italiano and Brisket Pastrami Rayz Way. And as always with this friend, we split the sandwiches between the both of us. See photos for cross sections of the sandwiches. First and foremost, the bread was perfectly toasted. The outside had the perfect amount of crunch and the chew of the bread was dayam perfect. The roll was more Banh Mi than traditional Italian. I didn't sustain any wounds on the roof of my mouth from eating the sandos. Both sandos had the right balance of filling. And both fillings were tender and separated perfectly per bite. Let me elaborate. I've had sandwiches were you bite into and either the bread or the protein doesn't separate easily from the bite. Sort of like trying to cut a mango with a dull knife - you have to press and saw a bit before you pierce into the skin and complete the cut. Biting into both of these sandwiches was like biting into an empanada. The bite easily separates from the rest of the sandwiches. The pastrami was excellent quality and there was an addition flavor note with the Spicy Italiano (at the end of the bike) that really separated this sandwich from others I've had. There was a nice little kick at the end. I think they added some vinegar to the sandwich. Fricking delicious. My friend is already making plans to revisit Corner Market.

Corner Market is definitely the best sandwich shop in Glendale. This shop is family owned and they know how to take care of their customers. Employees are very friendly and welcoming. The sandwiches taste amazing. I love the Spicy Italian. The sandwiches never make you feel bloated. Shop is very clean. I absolutely love this place.

At first, it was what the heck.. almost $20 for a pastrami sandwich? But then came the first bite.. the absolute best pastrami sandwich I've ever had and I've tried them all over the country. -- it's now the next day and I'm already thinking about the sandwich again.. have it Rays way! Straight fire! (and depending on what kind of fattie you are, I ate half and was content and at the other half later).. and I'm 6'1 225 pounds. It was so delicious! read more

I would give this place 5 stars but the past two times I've wanted to have a sandwich from here, they dont answer the phone. I like to call my order in and walk over to pick it up, and dont care for going there and waiting in line to order in person. It just takes too long. The food is great, but if this place wants my business again, they should pick up the phone when it rings. read more

Ok for a corner market to have a pastrami sandwich that's our of this world is unheard of. I would never imagine this corner market that I pass by daily has a sandwich this good. The pastrami is fresh, cooked to perfection and just melts in your mouth. I've had some pastrami sandwiches in LA and so far this is my favorite of all. Next I need to go to NY and compare this to the NY sandwiches. I'll definitely be back here soon! read more

First time trying it and went with the reviews. So I got the chopped cheese and the real deal pastrami. I LOVE a good sandwich so I was happy I was really close by and could stop in. Don't know what u was expecting but from the reviews I was expecting to be blown away. The sandwiches looked great. They're big and cut in half. I wanted to try them both while they're fresh. So I cut them both into quarters. Tried a quarter of the chopped cheese first. With the first bite my brain literally said "oh my god!" It was really good! Great seasoning. I think the vinaigrette mayo had something to do with it too. Really good. So then I took a quarter of the pastrami. Took a bite. Not blown away. The pastrami was pretty lean and very smokey. I can see why some people would love it. I didn't. I was still a little hungry so I ate another quarter of the pastrami 1. To give it another chance and see if it grows on me. 2. The chopped cheese was so good that I want to save it for later and make it last lol. I definitely will get the chopped cheese again. And definitely won't get the pastrami again. But I'll look at the menu and see what else to try. Guy at the counter was very nice. read more

Wow!!!! What a great hidden gem in Glendale. Called ahead to place my order which was super easy and it was ready exactly to the minute they said! They have a sign outside that says "best sandwiches in town" and they. mean. it. The bread is perfect, it's got a nice tack on the outside but it's soft on the inside. Great food. Amazing sandwiches. However I bought a sandwich for 16.99 and a bag of chips and a can of Coca Cola and the total came out to 40$? How does that make sense. Max price should've been around 25$. I got ripped off and I saw two ladies order TWO sandwiches after me and they paid way less than 40 for TWO sandwiches. 16.99 + 3$ let's say for the small chips and 3$ for the small can of Coke DOES NOT EQUAL 40$. read more

Amazing Sandwiches and amazingly awesome people run this little establishment. I grew up on the East Coast in Manhattan and Connecticut and the general vibe is exactly what it's like in the big city. Very friendly crew who make amazing food along with having a very well stocked grocery and produce section. I had the spicy ham sandwich and was delighted to get little hints of spice which was tamed by the perfect amount of Mayonaise and Mustard. The ham was fresh and the produce was crispy; and of course, the bread was and delightfully spongey on the inside whilst having a wonderful crackle and crunch on the exterior. This is going to be my new favorite sandwich shop in the LA area and I can't wait to try their full menu. Hopefully their sandwich shop will expand soon and grow into breakfast items :) read more

Anytime I need help finding something, they know exactly where it's located. In addition, Ray (the owner) is super personable and always finds ways to help his customers and build great relationships with them. With all the craziness surrounding the Corona Virus, Ray does a great job of informing us on shipments of inquired products to ensure the organization in his shop and promotes social distancing. What a pastrami sandwich! The RAYZ pastrami brisket is slow cooked for 15 hours and just melts in your mouth on every bite. The tinge of horseradish makes the sandwich so flavorful. I have been in search of a solid sandwich since I moved to Pasadena many years ago and I think I found it today. I ordered the Spicy Italiano and it was delicious! Good amount of meat and the bread had a toasted crunch without being overdone. The service was great with friendly interaction. Best sandwiches in Glendale? That's a big claim... so I had to try it. They know what they're doing because they're 100% right. The bread is crunchy on the outside but still soft on the inside. The pastrami is so tender, smoky but not overly salty. They're definitely a part of my weekly rotation. Plus a drink is included and the sandwiches are SO filling. You can't eat anywhere for under $20 nowadays so I love the reasonable pricing as well. Ray is always kind and makes you WANT to keep coming back. My favorite is the Rayz Way, extra lettuce, add jalapenos :) read more

Finally got a chance to try Corner Market and I am obsessed. I got the spicy Italian and it was beyond delicious!! The meats were so good but the bread is what made it perfect. There's a nice lot as well as plenty of street parking. Somewhat have always preferred Mission Wine & Spirits to BevMo aka Beverages & More, Total Wine & More, or similar chains. Mission still feels like the neighborhood choice, with incredible prices, deals and service to match. Becoming somewhat of a cigar aficionado in the past year plus, with some guidance from my significant other. We stopped in together today and did some browsing as well as shopping. Him for Vodka to have at his place and me to have whiskey at mine. I spend a lot of time in Glendale and though they have two great locations, this one is my top choice hands down. There's just something a little more intimate and thoughtful here. Lots of beverage accessories, gift items and various things here you'll enjoy. Mixers, snacks, and various lottery things that make it nice to stop in and take in the magic of Mission. The sandwiches here have become my favorite in the city and maybe my top 3 in LA. There is something about the sandwiches here that really stand out. Starting from the bread, I've literally fell in love with the crunchiness and softness of the bread. What I also noticed is that they take the dough out which makes it even more pleasant. And now the main event, that tender and smoky pastrami has become my favorite sandwich. I've had many pastrami in LA including the famous Langers but this one has become my favorite. That smokie and tenderness of the meat which pairs perfectly with the bread is unbelievably good. If it ain't Rayz way then I don't want it. I've been stuck on the pastrami for a while and I may try out the Spicy Italian next as I've also heard good things about that sandwich. In addition, the service here has been outstanding. Keep in mind it's super busy during certain hours so I highly suggest calling in for orders. It's a must have for me atleast once a week if not twice. Nice little shop with friendly owners ready to assist. Whenever I need something very quick I don't want to stop by Ralph's or Vons this is my stop. A lot of community folks come here to do their main shopping there a lot of different type of Armenian foods and ethnic foods available they also have fresh cold cuts which the slice for you along with a bunch of cheese selections. If you go in the morning they also have fresh bread from different bakery's as well as pastries placed in plastic containers for you to take home and enjoy. My only problem with this place is the parking the parking is nonexistent because it's located between a bunch of residential properties with lots of cars always parked on the street. Oh man. I was really hoping to like this place but saw something that was unsanitary and it turned me off. The owner took my money and closed the drawer and without using gloves went immediately and continued to make a sandwich. It was really disgusting.
